New Wave of British Heavy Metal stalwarts RAVEN have unleashed their ferocious new album ‘All Hell’s Breaking Loose’, out now via Silver Lining Music. Order/Listen now at this location.
Prepare yourself for a metal rampage the likes of which you haven’t enjoyed in many a year as New Wave of British Heavy Metal stalwarts RAVEN deliver the electric mayhem of All Hell’s Breaking Loose, their 15th studio album.
Furthermore, RAVEN have unleashed the ear-splitting title track ‘All Hell’s Breaking Loose’.
The video features co-founding bassist and vocalist John Gallagher restrained in a straitjacket with his mouth gaffer-taped shut, followed by scenes of explosions and destruction. Musically, ‘All Hell’s Breaking Loose’ twists and turns with accents and flavours buried inside the chaos, perfectly capturing the sheer desperation felt by us all especially whilst in lockdown, during the global COVID-19 pandemic.
“Lyrically the song is about the constrictions of being locked down during the pandemic and the desire and need to ‘break free’ from it all or risking going insane…” explains co-founding member and guitarist Mark Gallagher. “It’s about taking control of your freedom!” Mark exclaims.
“‘All Hell’s Breaking Loose’ is a kick-ass song starting with Mark laughing his head off, which we took from another part of the recording session and glued on to the intro ‘cause it just sounded killer crazy!” enthuses John. “It then gets into this straight, “real” RAVEN riff… the part before the chorus is super heavy… 100% in yer face kill your neighbors heavy metal!!”
The Newcastle pioneers, formed by the Gallagher brothers (bassist/vocalist John and guitarist Mark) and rounded out by drummer extraordinaire Mike Heller have emerged from Heller’s own Heaven And Heller Studios in Los Angeles with 10 crisp, visceral metal classics, each fused with riffs, twists, turns, chaos and more hooks than all the Hellraiser movies combined (think hyperbole, ‘turn-it-UP’ and find out for yourself)!
‘Go For The Gold’ is an amalgamation of riffs and furious, percussive madness, yet behind it all a melodic journey that makes it multi-dimensional skull-crushing. Meanwhile ‘Surf The Tsunami’ sees Heller gatecrash your eardrums with a furious flurry of his own, before some supreme twister riffs bring on the full metal chaos; ‘Turn Of The Screw’ bounces on the upbeats before smashing you with a thunderous chorus; ‘The Far Side’ has as classic a metal riff as you’ll hear in 2023; ‘Desperate Measures’ is pure ’81-saturated tales of hardship and despair, if you ever wondered what RAVEN at the Marquee were like on a sweaty metal night in ’83; ‘Edge of A Nightmare’ is your portal to paradise, thundering as hard as the opener ‘Medieval’.

New Wave of British Heavy Metal stalwarts RAVEN unleash their crushing new single ‘Surf The Tsunami’, taken from the upcoming album, All Hell’s Breaking Loose.
RAVEN’s new single/video ‘Surf The Tsunami’, released today, showcases the relentless, resolute energy the three-piece brings to everything they do. Prepare yourself for a truly vehement ambush as drummer Heller gatecrashes your eardrums with a furious flurry of his own, before some supreme twister riffs bring on the full metal chaos!
“The second video from our new album is ‘Surf The Tsunami’ which features our very own ‘Drum Tsunami’ Mike Heller!” enthuses co-founding bassist and vocalist John Gallagher. “It has a blistering opening… killer riffs and I get ‘Tsunami-ed’ in the middle… it’s 100% Metal!!!”

Set for release via Silver Lining Music on June 30th, RAVEN’s new album, All Hell’s Breaking Loose, demands that you prepare yourself for a metal rampage the likes of which you haven’t enjoyed in many a year!
“It’s pretty overwhelming when you listen to the new record. It’s also great to know that we can perform the songs live. We’re not doing any kind of tapes and all that bullshit! We can still just be a kick-ass power trio!” adds John.

“‘Go For The Gold’” is our first single as it really represents the new album mission statement… 100% full on RAVEN lunacy!!!!” enthuses John Gallagher. “If you’ve got an initial great riff, you just build from it,” explains John, “you try not to milk it to death. You want a good structure. You want a good verse with hooks, a good pre-chorus with hooks, a great chorus, and then you want little left turns here and there to spice it up. Otherwise it can sound boring. And if you have too many left turns then it turns into jazz fusion, so it’s a funny line you gotta dance on to have structure but also the chaos part as well.”

“You got three guys with very strong, passionate, opinions,” offers Mark, “and when those are brought together, it’s a case of ‘iron sharpens iron.’” “We’re very hard on ourselves,” adds John, “it had to be ‘all killer, no filler’. Absolutely every single part of every song had to make sense, had to mean something, and had to be there for a purpose.”
And All Hell’s Breaking Loose makes it clear that RAVEN aren’t messing around in that regard.

For Canada’s The Metal Voice Kenny Kessel in New Jersey interviewed Mark and John Gallagher from the legendary NWOBHM speed metal band RAVEN.
In the interview the band talks about touring the bands classic album Wiped Out ( 40 year anniversary, released in 1982), opening for Metallica on the upcoming tribute show for Jon and Marash Zazula and give some details on their upcoming new studio album.
When asked about opening for Metallica at upcoming tribute show for Jon and Marsha Zazula Nov 6, 2022 and playing songs from (’83-’84) “We had a relationship with them (Metallica) going back. We spoke to James Hetfield and we talked about doing some shows together, (Anniversary of Raven All for One album era ’83). Then this Florida show came up and we said yes initially because it was going to be an opening slot with Metallica,” Mark
“We had a sit down with James (Hetfield) and it was just to talk about the anniversary (shows) and he was so cool. I said to him I remember during the tour (Raven All of One headliner, Metallica Kill ’em All opening ’83 tour) you were pretty drunk, most of it (laughs) did you remember anything? He said I never remember anything but I remember everything about that tour, cause it was the first and we were so clued in on what was going on. And at the end I said if you ever need an opening band from Newcastle who are always available and he went, I might just have something, let me see.” John
“Initially that was going to be a show with just Metallica but then it kind of transformed into this celebration of Jonny Z and Marsha who were the Crazed Management team who brought Raven to the USA for the first time and who introduced everybody to these different bands, so we have all this history together with Metallica. We miss them (Jonny and Marsha) ” Mark
When asked about any updates on a new studio album “We signed a new deal, the new record is going to be coming out on Silver Lining Music. The album is all done, we are pretty much in the mixing stage right now and that will come out in May 2023.” Mark
“An exclusive just for The Metal Voice, the name of the album is ‘All Hell’s breaking Loose” John.
METALLICA go back to their roots with early labelmates RAVEN to honor the Zazula Family with a Tribute Concert for charity.
“We’re excited to add one more night to the tour calendar this year with a special show at Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, on Sunday, November 6, 2022. This night will be extra-special as we’ll be celebrating the life, legacy and achievements of Jonny and Marsha Zazula.
Jonny gave us our first break in New York, released our first albums on his Megaforce Records label, and put us out on the road for our first real tour. With Marsha by his side, Jonny was a mentor, a manager, a label head, and a father figure to us all…. we would not be where we are today without the two of them. Sadly, we recently lost both Jonny and Marsha, just a little more than a year apart.
We’ll be cooking up a special setlist for you full of songs from our days with Jonny and Marsha at Megaforce. Our main touring partner from that time, Raven, will be joining us to add to the celebration and bring back the memories. Head out to Hard Rock Live and celebrate two heavy metal pioneers and champions with us!” – Metallica
“The Zazula family is beyond humbled and appreciative that Metallica is playing this show in our parents’ honor. The pride our parents felt toward every member of the Metallica community, from the band members to fans, was insurmountable. We can’t wait to witness this full-circle moment that will undoubtedly cause some raucous head-banging in Rock N Roll Heaven. Horns up…at Hit the Lights…Thank you.” – The Zazula Family
