Just recently the New Haven based metal titans DEAD BY WEDNESDAY announced the first shows for the EMP Label Group U.S. Tour, alongside RAVEN, kicking off on August 17th, 2017! New shows are added to the tour, check out the updated list below. The tour is presented by Mindsnap Music.

New Haven based metal titans DEAD BY WEDNESDAY have announced the re-release of their debut album “Democracy is Dead”, which came out in 2006!

“In honor of “Record Store Day 2017”, Mindsnap Music will be re-releasing Dead By Wednesday’s very 1st / debut CD “Democracy is Dead” which came out in 2006 on Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed’s Stillborn Records label. It features the original line up including the dual singer brothers & my cousins David & Ceschi Ramos. It is different then what the band is like now musically & doesnt represent their current sound but it’s still a very unique & stellar piece of the band’s history in its own right that everyone should own & at least check out.”

Raven-Hirax

HIRAX is an American thrash metal band beginning in 1984 under the leadership of vocalist Katon W. De Pena (founding member).  The band was an early example of the thrash metal, speed metal and crossover.  HIRAX is based in Los Angeles but, at that time, because of the weak metal scene in their area, they spent most of their time playing in San Francisco along with Slayer, Metallica, and Exodus, who were all part of the exciting new metal emerging from the Bay area. They released a four-song demo in 1984.  This demo was widely circulated and the band became known and respected worldwide through the metal tape trading underground.  Since then HIRAX has released  5 full length studio albums and multiple EPs and has toured the world including many festivals in South America, Europe, Japan, Scandinavia, and the U.S.A.

RAVEN to Start Recording New Album in September 2017

Jimmy Kay and Alan Dixon from Canada’s The Metal Voice recently spoke to RAVEN Frontman John Gallagher during a live stream REAPER-A -Thon to raise money for Steve Grimmett medical and recovery costs.

Prior to the Live feed in Ecuador  The Metal Voice asked Gallagher about a the time frame for new RAVEN album. Gallagher replied, “the band has new management with EMP  (David Ellfson  Megadeth) as well as the band going into the Studio to record a new album in September 2017. Gallagher said,”We’ve been writing like fiends, I have at least 20 really good songs, going to be a kick ass new album which we will go in and record in September 2017, we are still planning out who we will be doing it with. We also have a new website up go check it out.”

Gallagher amongst other Metal Artists will participate in a ALL STAR re-recording of Grim Reaper songs to raise funds for Steve Grimmett’s medical and recovery costs

The Reaper All-Star  include Gary Holt (Slayer, Exodus) Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens (ex-Judas Priest), Doro Pesch, Lips (Anvil), Neil Turbin (Deathriders), Tony Dolan (Venom Inc) Ross The Boss (Manowar), Jonas Hornqvist (Bleed the Hunger),  Sy Keeler (Onslaught), Bobby Blitz (Overkill),  Marta Gabriel (Crystal Viper), Blaze Bayley (ex Iron Maiden) Nick Bowcott (ex-Grim Reaper), John Gallagher (Raven), Mantas (Venom inc), Joe Cangelosi (Whiplash, Kreator) Chuck Billy (Testament). The songs will be produced by Chris Tsangarides (Judas Priest, Anvil Producer )

Steve Grimmett has been hospitalized in Ecuador since mid-January; the singer was amidst a tour in support of GRIM REAPER’s latest album, Walking In The Shadows.  Millie Grimmett has been updating fans around the globe of the singer’s condition. Grimmett has endured multiple operations that have resulted in the near complete loss of his right leg.
