Epic, orchestral, but still restless an wild – FROSTTIDE provide everything that fans love about Finnish Metal. Between influences such as Insomnium, Moonsorrow, Wintersun and Amorphis, the band presents a characteristic way of sound, that combines directness with sweeping structures.
The new video “Revenant” is an epos between stormy guitars and large arrangements and represents the newest release “Decedents – Enshrined” perfectly.
Paul Allender‘s WHITE EMPRESS is back with their new 4K cinematic horror film “Revenant”, produced by Era Horrificus Films, now premiering worldwide on Metal Shock Finland, Watch below.
Metal Shock Finland’s CEO/Founder/President Tarja Virmakari states:
“What a pleasure and honour to premiere this badass horror film for this wicked Halloween! Check out White Empress‘ “Revenant”, enter your worst nightmares, and let the demonology, witchcraft and possession commence!”
Read what Paul Allender tells about the film concept:
“I got very bored with the usual band stuff, to me everything sounds the same, there’s nothing different at all out there, a band has a singer and musicians etc… boring. Empress has gone down the horror audiobook route with cinematic film. There’s no singing on the music anymore, it’s all narration but with atmosphere and passion in all the right places. The Revenant track is narrated from the priest point of view, whereas the album and next full film will have various voice actors to bring out the the story that will be the prequel of the revenant concept.
“It’s taken over a year to get this track and film to where it is today, but with the love of music, film and creating new things it’s finally here. There were a lot of obstacles to overcome but the new direction is finally out. I wanted to create something musically different with a visual that will enhance the atmosphere so i decided to go down the horror film route.
Revenant is about two families, centuries old, at war. The concept is that one of the families, common poor folk, two sons and a father with nothing to lose who murder to make a living. The other, a religious family, a daughter and a father who run the town’s church and will do anything to please their lord.
One night, sons of the common folk, on a drunken rampage break into the house of the religious family and rape the daughter while her father was away. Upon returning, her father (the priest in the film) is stricken with such anger and hatred he will stop at nothing to get his revenge. His faith is lost after this tragic event by wondering how can his god can turn on him like this, and feels betrayed.
Turning to the dark arts to get his revenge, he summons a demon to possess the common family, but not for just one night. The curse is for all eternity such as, all the members are killed but only one son is left. The curse is triggered once a son is born and comes of age. Once the son has a boy child the curse destroys everyone he loves and only the boy child is left.
This curse goes on forever and only leaves one family member, which in turn will wipe out all family history and leaving one solitary being alone and historyless.
Think about how alone and paranoid you would be if you were the only person in your entire family and knowing one day, if you were to meet someone, have a baby and it was a boy that you would be next sent to hell.”

Twas a soundless leaden eve where clouds draped oppressively
In forgotten fields of wistful history
There, my path from the light began
From one of fervent faith to one of bitter rivalry
Our journey starts from despairs of the soul, equated to no mortal sensation
More suitably sustained from lips prayed, in pious desperation
My vengeance was ripe among sacred stars
And holy sacraments cast down to sicken all, fashioned from the words of faith
My pestilent dominion poured forth, and rots the earth
Bonfires, infernal towers craving corpses
Pyre dead and torrid, a writhing anathema
And by holy hand, in forsaking my humanity
Kindled flesh of the damned
We chant this verses to bind their souls…
Yolcam Gmicalz Vovina
Bring forth the power from below
Yolcam Gmicalz Vovina
Yolcam Gmicalz Vovina
Exalted words uttered from the nether
Yolcam Gmicalz Vovina
By scornful heavens, it is done!
The twelfth hour chimed upon moonlit night as embers kissed the cold
Where crimes befit the punishment, as shrieking choirs gather
And much like the hour death was kept in contempt’s bitter ledger
A ghostly presence comes to claim the sinful mortals
From halls of bone gray smiles
Turning dreams to haunted afterthought
Like the buried stench of decay will rise
When inverted crosses pointed northward
But I recall that dreadful eve…
Within my stately manor trespassed two sons of jealousy
And forced naked austere flesh of my daughters so adored
Raped and ravaged to death their frail forms
And upon this discovery, grace fell from our once great house, as Stygian pacts were formed
For I knew not was possessed me but from there, morbid shadows grew
Enshrouded in curses pouring fourth from the all things, as the festering wound
My power grew to inhuman meaning
And invoked genocide rites from tongues still seething
As we herald the plague through the centuries
An ever reaching death-brand on all their progenies
Nevermore!
The unearthed bones cannot be interred
Nevermore!
A curse upon their house spoken in dead speeches
Nevermore!
Shall their lustful deeds reign unjudged
Nevermore!
Heretic spirits will come undone
Rise…Fulfill our pact
And take that which has been taken from me
She comes for you now, in ways no mortal eyes were meant to see
Hear the words as they echo in ethereal screams
Yolcam Gmicalz Vovina
Bring forth the power from below
Yolcam Gmicalz Vovina
Yolcam Gmicalz Vovina
Exalted words uttered from the nether
Yolcam Gmicalz Vovina
By scornful heavens, it is done!
Madness….
A haze possess thee
Tragic…
When she comes to take you from farthest reaches
And this…
Your doom etched in prophecy
Unfortunate…
Your sacrificed you cannot escape
Farewell…descend to a place only the dead would know
Chosen son in perdition’s unity
These are the accounts and confessions scribed by dying light
For there but little time left before the white empress,
She who is death itself, comes to claim another
I am sorry my child, this is your fate…
You, who are bound to cancered aura
Entombed in the arms of a nameless horror
Weeping within the body no longer your own
Death throes in the abyss
And left to perish alone…

Formed in 1991, TAD MOROSE have seemed to be one of those bands that went very quiet after building up a strong fan base and a good head of steam following seven albums (and a compilation), the last of them being issued by Century Media back in 2003. Ten years elapsed during which lineup changes were happening, as well as virtually all of TAD MOROSE becoming involved in original drummer Danne Eriksson’s band INMORIA. Confused? Nah…it’s actually all good news and nice to see a music scene in Sweden that remains very cooperative between bands and band members.
Anyway…on to 2013 and TAD MOROSE finally have put their latest opus REVENANT out for us to hear at long last. The verdict? Well worth the wait. Labelled as a ‘progressive power metal’ band (there’s those bloody labels again!) the album has crisp clean production, recorded at Studio Claustrophobic, Gävle, and twelve tracks of solid, heavy Swedish metal.
The first thing you notice straight away is the power in vocalist Ronny Hemlin’s voice. I have only ever seen Ronny on stage with another band, but have always been incredibly impressed with his delivery and presence on stage. This makes me pleased to report that he maintains his impeccably high standard on the album. However, he is not alone in this high standard. The entire band sounds focussed and play everything with the precision and skill that TAD MOROSE fans (or any metal fans for that matter) will expect. Everybody shines on this album.
Just to indulge my own prejudice here, once again, TAD MOROSE illustrate why I don’t really like the pigeon-hole of micro labels that get thrown on bands.
The term ‘progressive power metal’ conjures up an image of music that, well, frankly, I may well find fairly dull; sometimes cleverness coming at a higher priority to the kind of visceral ‘heaviness’ that I like. This is not the case here at all. All the trappings of ‘power metal’ may well be here, but it never interferes with the all conquering and time honoured power of THE RIFF! TAD MOROSE have plenty of feeling and darkness to their music, the track ‘Absence Of Light’ being a perfect example; a slow, powerful riff fest with great main vocals, ballsy drums, thumping bass, massive riff, classy lead break and great chorus vocals. Nice!
Another good move on behalf of the band is to keep the tracks well structured, with only one of them passing the five minute mark; no padding required or used.
According to Fresno Media, Swedish progressive power metal act Tad Morose has teamed up with Decibel to launch an advance album stream of the band’s upcoming release Revenant. Revenant, which drops this Wednesday, November 20 on Despotz Records, can be streamed in its entirety this week at: http://www.decibelmagazine.com/featured/streaming-tad-morose-revenant/.

Formed in 1991, Tad Morose released its debut album Leaving The Past Behind in 1993 and has since released six albums and toured all around the world. After a 10 year hiatus, Tad Morose will finally release its eighth album Revenant this week.
Swedish metallers TAD MOROSE are back with their first album in ten years; “Revenant,” released today, 15th November 2013. The band started its life in 1991 and have been through many line-up changes over the years.
Blackdiamond recently caught up with founding member and guitarist Christer ‘Krunt’ Andersson for a chat about the new album and all news about the band. You can read an excerpt from the interview and listen to the chat on the audio player below:
Discussing the new album, Krunt expressed:
“It feels an unbelievably huge relief to finally get this album out. It’s plain, ordinary good old fashioned heavy metal. A lot of people think it’s a bit darker and more aggressive than the other albums.”
On touring and live shows, Krunt said:
“Playing live is what it’s all about for us as a band, so we’re really looking forward to going out on the road again. It doesn’t matter if there are 5 people in the audience or ten thousand, we have such a great time on stage anyway.”

It’s been ten long years since pioneering Swedish progressive power metal act TAD MOROSE released their acclaimed ‘Modus Vivendi’ album.
The ensuing years have seen countless line up changes but it was the addition of powerhouse vocalist Ronny Hemlin (an old friend of the band and former Steel Attack singer) that persuaded Tad Morose driving force Christer ‘Krunt’ Andersson that he finally had the right man behind the mic for the next chapter in the band’s long and illustrious career.
Hemlin’s devastating range and power has proven to be the perfect foil for Andersson’s brick wall riffs and cutting solos, as ably demonstrated on the anthemic first single ‘Beneath A Veil Of Crying Souls’, check out a clip below:
The new album “Revenant” is due for release on November 15th.
