Rockin’1000, the Biggest Rock Band on Earth born in Cesena, which today performs in international stadiums with 1000 musicians on stage, launches a new format: FLASH CORO that will bring music and passion of Rockin’1000 to three special dates in Italy: June 22nd and July 23rd in Cesena’s square and October 9th at the theater in Florence.
ROCKIN’1000 FLASH CORO is the new format launched for the 10th anniversary: a collective singing event where anyone can participate, regardless of their musical ability. The idea is simple: a group of people gather and, under the guidance of a choir director, learn to sing a song as a multi-voiced choir. Unlike a traditional choir, no preparation or experience is required. There are no rehearsals or sheet music to study: everything happens on the spot, in a spontaneous and fun way. The atmosphere is informal and playful, with the main goal of getting everyone to sing without worrying too much about perfection. During the event, participants are divided into vocal groups and guided in learning the melody and harmonies, until they can perform the entire song together.
“The Rockin’1000 Flash Coro represents a new opportunity to experience music in a participatory and aggregating way, and it’s the way we’ve chosen to definitively break down the barriers between the public and performers. In an era dominated by screens and virtual connections, we think that live events that involve the senses, social interaction, and authenticity are increasingly necessary. We grasped this need 10 years ago and this is how the show of the 1000 was born, now we’re gathering the same spirit and declinating it in new formats, where music continues to be one of the most powerful social aggregators.” – said Fabio Zaffagnini, Founder of Rockin’1000.
ROCKIN’1000 FLASH CORO will debut on Sunday, June 22nd with a special Pink Edition, designed for Notte Rosa, in Cesena‘s Piazza Guidazzi starting from 9:00 PM. Then, on Wednesday, July 23rd, the new format will be featured again in Piazza Guidazzi in Cesena during the Rockin’1000 Week, the week preceding the double show on the occasion of the project’s 10th anniversary (July 26th and 27th at the Orogel Stadium Dino Manuzzi in Cesena). Finally, on Thursday, October 9th, the new format will land in the theater, in Florence at the Teatro Cartiere Carrara (via Fabrizio De Andrè ang. Lungarno Aldo, Florence. Pre-sales: (link unavailable) Ticket price: single seat € 30.00 + pre-sale).
The Flash Coro is a dynamic and interactive format that will allow participants to experience a unique and engaging musical experience. With Rockin’1000, music becomes a shared and exciting experience that unites people and creates unforgettable memories.

Celebrations for the 10th anniversary of Rockin’1000.
A book tour for Fabio’s autobiography.
A new concert in Portugal, on September 6th in Leiria.
Entering the U.S. market with a special campaign to be announced soon.
Plenty of new concerts and projects to create together.
Rockin’1000 – The Biggest Rock Band on Earth assembled 1,000 musicians to play Learn To Fly together in a field in Cesena to convince Foo Fighters in 2015 to come to play a show in Italy. The video went viral – hitting 62m views. Foo Fighters’ attention was firmly grabbed, and the band said yes. Hearts we captured worldwide as the story spread across the globe. International stadium tours have followed for people to witness the phenomenon of 1000 musicians together making the most glorious sound.
Now, the band have teamed up with Mascot Label Group and is set to release their first original song, HOW WE ROLL, featuring vocals by Chris Robertson of US hard-rock heavyweights and arena-shakers Black Stone Cherry and 100 musicians performing on the song.
Tomorrow, June 3, in Madrid, the song will be played for the first time by 1,000 musicians during the opening date of the HUMANS WORLD TOUR 2023. It will, after that, be performed in Bogota with more shows on the way.
Via their ‘Mission S000ngwriting’ challenge – where the streets of Milan, Rome, New York, Paris and Mexico City were distributed with flyers with the words “Wanted Songwriters” and a phone number – Rockin’1000 invited its community of more than 65,000 musicians from all over the world to create the biggest work of musical co-creation ever attempted: the first song composed by 1,000 authors to be performed by 1,000 musicians.
After a lengthy study, the team of experts led by Fabio Zaffagnini, formed by the Australian Nic Cester – singer-songwriter, guitarist, and frontman of Jet; the Italians Giulio Nenna – producer, musician, and composer and Andrea DB Debernardi, sound engineer, and producer, and the Brazilian Daniel Plentz of Selton, musician, music director, and producer – last October convened about 100 musicians (including vocals, guitars, basses, and drums) at the Teatro Verdi in Cesena, Italy set up for the occasion as a recording studio. An extraordinary two days of rehearsals followed.
On being involved Chris Robertson says, “I’ve been a big fan of Rockin’1000 since the first video went viral, so to sing their first original song is a huge honour for me. I can’t wait for you all to check it out.”
Shows have shaken foundations at the likes of Allianz Parque Arena, São Paulo – Brazil, Stade de France, Paris, Venice, Turin, Frankfurt, and Milan and were joined in Florence, Italy by special guest Courtney Love. Dave Grohl has spoken about how he felt about the band’s invitation in a video HERE.
“After creating the first draft, which included a topline with guitar accompaniment, we asked the community to arrange it and write the lyrics. We collected over 1,000 proposals, in which there was everything: punk, folk, metal, and prog versions,” declares Fabio Zaffagnini, founder of Rockin’1000. ”Gathering materials from so many people and putting them together was long, demanding, and very interesting. Listening to hundreds of versions allowed us to understand what worked and what didn’t. The feature of Black Stone Cherry is, for us, a confirmation of the quality of the song. We are delighted. Such a result was not taken for granted when we started with this yet another crazy idea!”
Chris Robertson is the singer-guitarist of Kentucky rockers Black Stone Cherry. The band have released seven studio albums to date, toured the globe several times over, and had multiple #1 radio hits worldwide since their debut album was released in 2006. They’ve rocked 12,000-cap arena shows and shared the stage with a diverse roster of superstars, including Alter Bridge, Theory of a Deadman, Def Leppard, Gov’t Mule, Nickelback, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Company, Mötorhead, Halestorm, Stone Temple Pilots, The Darkness, and ZZ Top. In 2018, they performed in front of 100,000 people at the Download Festival, UK, as main support to Guns N’ Roses and in 2021, the band fulfilled a lifetime’s ambition when they played at the UK’s venerated Royal Albert Hall, London. They have over half a million followers and more than a million monthly listeners on Spotify alone, it’s a force to be reckoned with.
After 7 years of covers that have marked the History of Rock, Rockin’1000 is proud to include a revolutionary song that conceals a world without geographical boundaries, cultural barriers, or differences in age, genre, or musical background.

Rockin’1000 – the Biggest Rock Band on Earth is a project created to invite the Foo Fighters to Cesena, Italy. Thanks to Learn to Fly – a viral video that now counts over 60 million views – today, the band has learned to fly by performing in stadiums around the world with concerts in which 1,000 musicians play in unison. The Community, which today consists of more than 30,000 musicians, enjoys a unique experience that should be experienced at least once in a lifetime, even as a spectator. The project has to its credit an album, a film and several concerts in Italy, France, Germany, the USA, and Korea conveying a message of inclusion and togetherness.
Fever, creators of Candlelight (candlelight concerts performed by live musicians in iconic venues), is the leading global platform for the discovery of live entertainment, which helps millions of people each week discover the best experiences in their cities, with a mission to democratize access to real-life culture and entertainment. Through its platform, Fever inspires users to enjoy unique local experiences and events, from immersive exhibitions, interactive theater experiences, festivals, and molecular pop-up cocktails. In the process, it enables creators to obtain data and technology useful in creating and exporting these experiences around the world.
In 2015, a marine geologist passionate about rock who had never organized an event before got help from his friends, who were insiders in the world of entertainment, to achieve the impossible. Fabio Zaffagnini’s goal: to gather 1000 musicians in a meadow to play “Learn to Fly” by the Foo Fighters in unison to convince the famous American group to perform in his city, Cesena. The video of the performance immediately went viral (today it has over 60 million views) and the Foo Fighters responded, accepting the invitation and adding a date to their tour. From this unexpected success, a format was born: Rockin’1000, the Biggest Rock Band on Earth. The band has performed many concerts in stadiums and special locations, created an album produced with Sony Music Italy and the outbound film We are The Thousand – directed by Anita Rivaroli, which tells the story of the band’s genesis and is currently nominated in some of the most important international film festivals. From an original idea by Fabio Zaffagnini, created with founders Claudia Spadoni, Martina Pieri, Mariagrazia Canu and “Cisko” Ridolfi, today Rockin’1000 is an award-winning company that carries out international projects and is invited to collaborate with partners around the world.
Is it possible to be in Turin for the Eurovision and in Paris inside the Stade de France at the same time?On Saturday, May 14, Rockin’1000, the band that managed to bring the Foo Fighters to Cesena in 2015, succeeded in the quest: thanks to the video made for the Eurovision final, aired just Saturday night and the great live show realized the same evening in Paris in front of a packed stadium, the Biggest Rock Band on Earth amplified its message of peace to the fullest.
Last April 8, indeed, the band Rockin’1000 had descended on Turin’s Piazza San Carlo to record the official Eurovision commercial: a parade of 500 musicians from all over Europe, including singers, drummers, bassists, guitarists, and strings, performed an unreleased version of “Te Deum,” Eurovision historical theme song, arranged in a rock style. A special contribution was recorded that day: the musicians performed to the notes of “Give peace a chance” by John Lennon, giving an emotional moment dedicated to peace, the central theme of the 66th Eurovision; the content aired at 9 p.m. Saturday, May 14, during the opening of the final that declared Ukraine as the winner.
During the same minutes, in front of more than 50,000 spectators, Rockin’1000 finally returned in a live version after almost three years of a forced stop with a great concert at the Stade de France in Paris that featured on stage 1088 musicians from 25 countries in the world and a setlist consisting of 21 songs which have made Rock History and about 200 accredited guests among journalists, influencers, promoters, and industry insiders who have been waiting for this event for a long time.
ust before the performance of Killing in the Name by Rage Against The Machine, Fabio Zaffagnini – CEO of Rockin’1000 and Artistic Director of the show, took the stage, delivering a touching speech that leaves no doubt about Rockin’1000’s stance on what is happening in the world: “After two years of fear, of prison, of death, a murderer ruined our party, our fucking well deserved party, our rebirth. Meanwhile, other bastards have made new weapons, new bombs. Because obviously all these bastards like war. So many heroes are fighting and dying to defend their home. But there are other heroes, who live in the land of this murderer, they are rebelling to pull him off the pulpit and throw him in the mud, where he deserves to be. They end up in jail. They are my heroes too, and we, Rockin’1000, we are with you! We have no weapons to give you, because war is not our thing. We can only give you the grenades that come out of our drums, the missiles that we launch from our amps and our war cry will be one: fuck you I won’t do what you tell me!”
The protagonists
The second edition of Rockin’1000 in Paris involved 1088 musicians from all over the world who played live, simultaneously a two-hour rock repertoire: 359 guitarists, 166 bassists, 238 singers, 216 drummers, and, for the first time in France, 109 keyboardists, bringing to the turf of the Stade de France, the greatest standards of Rock music.
Coming from 25 countries belonging to the 4 continents (Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, and South America): 846 musicians from France only, 160 from Italy and, following from Germany, Belgium, Austria, United States, Monaco, Poland, Switzerland, UK, Greece, Ireland, Netherlands, Spain, Tunisia, Algeria, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Latvia, Luxembourg, Philippines, Portugal, Sweden, and Ukraine. The musician who came from the furthest away is a guitarist from the Philippines, while the oldest musician is a 70-year-old German singer, and the youngest is a 16-year-old French drummer. Finally, pink quotas are growing: for the first time, with 309 females and 779 males, nearly 30 percent of Rockin’1000 musicians are women. Among them is also a young Ukrainian guitarist.
The characters
As in 2019, two strategic figures were happily confirmed: Philippe Manoeuvre, an absolute reference in Rock’n’roll and a true rock icon in France, was the perfect master of ceremonies and godfather of the concert. Thanks to his experience and mastery of the stage, as well as a deep understanding of the audience, everyone felt at home, from the musicians to each and every audience member. Conducting the unique orchestra was the Maestro Alex Deschamps, composer, author, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist: a powerful stage presence who coordinated, guided, and motivated all the instrumental sections, jumping and running all over the stage, never sparing himself.
The central block was dedicated to the special guest Matthieu Chedid, known as -M-, French singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, beloved by the Parisian audience who accompanied him by singing at the top of their lungs every song. Among the special contents, it was much appreciated that of Richard Kolinka, Téléphone’s drummer, who played the legendary track “Un autre monde” in the drum section. Opening the show, warming up the audience before the start, the DJ-set was signed by Émilie Mazoyer, radio host and producer specialized in rock music. Surprisingly, even the famous American drummer Aric Improta (Night Verses and Fever 333) went wild playing Lithium with the Thousand!
Suggestive solos and focuses were performed by Rockin’1000’s Music Gurus, in charge of the band’s 5 instrumental sections: Augusta Trebeschi (singers), Lele Borghi and Alberto Paderni (drums), Stefano Re and Claudio Cavallaro (guitars), Biagio Esposito (basses) e Davide Marani (keyboards).

ROCKIN’ 1000
In 2015 Fabio Zaffagnini and a few friends came up with the ridiculous plan to make a video of 1000 musicians playing The Foo Fighters “Learn to Fly” in an attempt to convince the band to come to their hometown of Cesena and do a concert. The gamble paid off. The video went viral with more than 59 million views and The Foo Fighters added a date to their tour to fulfil the dream. And so ROCKIN’ 1000 was born. High off their success, from 2016 ROCKIN’ 1000 continued to grow in Italy. Their first concert was organised at the Stadio Cesena in front of an audience of 13,000. Their second gig at the Stadio di Firenze in Florence brought out a crowd of almost 30,000 with the presence of their rock star guest performer, Courtney Love. In 2019 the Stade de France in Paris hosted nearly 55,000 spectators for a one off concert. 2020 saw the release of the film “We are the Thousand, The Incredible True Story of ROCKIN 1000” directed by Anita Rivaroli and produced by Indyca. ROCKIN’ 1000 is the brainchild of Fabio Zaffagnini, produced with Claudia Spadoni, Martina Pieri, Mariagrazia Canu and Francesco “Cisco” Ridolfi.

The big day is coming: after a long wait due to the pandemic, on May 14, Rockin’1000 returns to France with a great concert at the Stade de France in Paris (gates open at 7 p.m. – concert starts at 9 p.m.). Currently, 45,000 tickets have been sold, and it is going to be almost sold out!
“We’re picking up where we left off 3 years ago. The enthusiasm is high, even if the war we are experiencing brings in a note of sadness and anger – declares Fabio Zaffagnini, CEO and artistic director of Rockin’1000. He continues: We had much time to perfect a musical project that was already at the limits of reality, to take care of the smallest details, to polish everything, to create more dynamics. So, what we’re going to do is not “just” a concert where a lot of people play, but a show full of surprises, where empty and full will alternate, where we’ll be moved, and then we’ll jump like crazy singing at the top of our lungs. The Stade de France will turn into a spaceship full of colors that will make us travel through the history of Rock music. It will be unforgettable.”
Rockin’1000 is a unique show featuring more than 1000 musicians (1088 to be precise) from all over the world, who play live, simultaneously, a rock repertoire of two hours: 359 guitarists, 166 bassists, 238 singers, 216 drummers, and for the first time in France, 109 keyboardists, will bring on the turf of the Stade de France the greatest standards of Rock music.
The musicians playing in Paris come from 25 countries belonging to 4 continents: Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, and South America. 846 musicians come from France alone, 160 from Italy, followed by Germany, Belgium, Austria, United States, Monaco, Poland, Switzerland, UK, Greece, Ireland, Holland, Spain, Tunisia, Algeria, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Latvia, Luxembourg, Philippines, Portugal, Sweden, and Ukraine.
There are 745 hometowns! The musician from the farthest away is a guitarist from the Philippines, while the oldest musician is a 70-year-old German singer, and the youngest is a 16-year-old French drummer. The musician who impressed the organization the most for her geographical origin is a young guitarist from Ukraine. Pink quotas are finally growing: Rockin’1000 has always tried to encourage female musicians: for the first time, with 309 females and 779 males, almost 30% of the candidates are women.
This second French edition reconfirmed the master of ceremonies and godfather of the concert: Philippe Manœuvre, an absolute landmark in Rock’n’roll and a true rock icon in France.
Conducting the orchestra, as in 2019, will be Maestro Alex Deschamps, composer, author, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist
WHAT IS NEW COMPARED TO 2019
A special guest will join the adventure: Matthieu Chedid, also known by the pseudonym -M-, French singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, with several albums to his credit that have consecrated him at a national and international level, leading him to collaborate with artists such as Sean Lennon, Johnny Hallyday, Vanessa Paradis, Billy Ze Kick, and many others. Among the guests, there is also Richard Kolinka, drummer of Téléphone, participating with exclusive content: he will play in the drummer’s section the legendary song “Un autre monde.” The DJ set signed by ÉmilieMazoyer, radio host and producer specialized in rock music, will open the show.
Between special entrances, music composed ad hoc, a new light design, an audio setup that balances the sound of the thousand and the solos of the special guests, and the addition of another stage, those who attended the 2019 show will discover many new features introduced in this second, renewed edition.
A focused creative team enriches Fabio Zaffagnini’s artistic direction: Marco Boarino – Show Director, with his consolidated international experience in directing and creative multidisciplinary direction, Andrea Celi – Concept Creator & Author, Jordan Babev and Davide Pedrotti – Light designers. Their objective is to create a unique immersive experience, creating dynamism in the sound of a thousand musicians, enhancing the use of lights, and boosting the rhythm of the stage action.
The repertoire
The official setlist will not be revealed before the concert. At the moment, 21 tracks have been confirmed for a two-hour repertoire that promises to be an injection of pure adrenaline: ranging from some of the most iconic songs in the History of Rock such as Born to Be Wild (Steppenwolf), Sympathy for the Devil (Rolling Stones), Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2) (Pink Floyd), Killing in the Name (Rage Against The Machine) and Paradise City (Guns’n’Roses) to unforgettable tracks, beloved across multiple generations such as Don’t Look Back in Anger (Oasis), Space Oddity (DavidBowie), Under Pressure (Queen/Bowie), Won’t Get Fooled Again (The Who), Gold on the Ceiling (The Black Keys), Lithium (Nirvana), Hells Bells (AC/DC), Seven Nation Army (The White Stripes).
As in 2019, this edition celebrates the musical culture of the host country: the repertoire contains a selection of much-loved pieces that have left their mark on French rock culture and beyond, such as Un autre monde (Téléphone), C’est comme ça (Les Rita Mitsouko) and Antisocial (Trust) and a block of the show entirely dedicated to the special guest Matthieu Chedid, known as -M-, who will bring Mojo, Je dis aime, a Medley and Machistador.
There will also be a performance of My Hero (Foo Fighters) during the show, a special tribute to Taylor Hawkins, Foo Fighters’ drummer, who recently passed away.
