Nuclear Blast Records have announced that Max Cavalera‘s metal leviathan, SOULFLY, is set for a UK tour in Spring 2014.
These are SOULFLY’s first UK dates since the release of their current ninth studio album, Savages, their first to feature Max’s son, Zyon Cavalera on drums (who replaces departing sticksman, David Kinkade). Savages has garnered multiple plaudits, with the band being widely regarded as a dependable cornerstone in metal music.

The artwork was created by artist Paul Stottler, who is best known for SACRED REICH’s legendary Surf Nicaragua cover. Savages was released as a limited edition digipak CD, 2LP vinyl and digital download on October 1 (North America) and will be released October 4 (Europe) via Nuclear Blast. Guest vocal appearances on Savages include bass player Tony Campos, Max Cavalera’s other son Igor Cavalera (LODY KONG), CLUTCH’s Neil Fallon, NAPALM DEATH’s Mitch Harris and Jamie Hanks of I DECLARE WAR.
As if there was a more metal way to come into the world, Zyon’s heartbeat in utero served as the intro to SEPULTURA’s 1993 classic RIAA-gold-certified record Chaos A.D. Max would depart SEPULTURA soon after the release of Roots in 1996.
