The first official live CD from STAIND, “Live From Mohegan Sun”, will be released by Eagle Rock Entertainment on July 10, followed by the DVD and Blu-ray release on August 14. This concert was recorded and filmed in high definition at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Montville, Connecticut on November 25, 2011, and the chords must still be echoing somewhere deep within the bowels of the building.
Raw, uncompromising, loud, and totally, energetically exciting, STAIND pulls out all the stops in this sixteen-song set. Singer/guitarist Aaron Lewis, lead guitarist Mike Mushok and bassist Johnny April pummel through a career-spanning set that includes “It’s Been Awhile”, “Not Again”, “Eyes Wide Open”, “Right Here” and “So Far Away”. Drummer Sal Giancarelli gives a swift kick and a solid boost (replacing original drummer Jon Wysocki who left the band in May 2011).
In addition to these “Live From Mohegan Sun” releases, STAIND will hit the road this summer as part of the Rockstar Energy Uproar festival, sharing the main stage with SHINEDOWN and GODSMACK. This makes 2012 THE year to experience STAIND live.

GODSMACK, STAIND and HALESTORM will hit the road together this spring and they’re asking you, the fans, to help to name the tour. All you have to do is post your tour name suggestion in the comments section on GODSMACK‘s Facebook page. On Thursday, the three groups will reveal the top five contenders from each band’s pages and ask you to vote for your favorite. The winning tour name will be announced on Monday, January 23.
The official tour dates for the GODSMACK, STAIND and HALESTORM tour will be announced sometime next week.
GODSMACK frontman Sully Erna told BostonHerald.com last month that the band was heading back to the studio in January to mix a live disc and record a handful of cover songs that Erna says “inspired us along the way.”
