VULTURE INDUSTRIES Reveal New Documentary

Dynamic, schizophrenic metal outfit VULTURE INDUSTRIES are releasing a video documentary about their collaboration with Romanian artist COSTIN CHIOREANU to create their special performance titled “The Babylon Spiral”. “The Babylon Spiral” will be performed  in Oslo, Norway on April 2 as part of Inferno Festival. A trailer for the documentary can be viewed here:

The original artworks of COSTIN CHIOREANU, including designs for MAYHEM, VULTURE INDUSTRIES and GRAVE among others are available here.

In addition to the Inferno Festival show, the band have added two dates in Spain with progressive supergroup SOEN. A full list of dates is below.

VULTURE INDUSTRIES are touring in support of their critically acclaimed album, ‘The Tower’. Revolver Magazine described ‘The Tower’ as a “…tightly coiled, often ambitious exercise in weirdly cheery-sounding, prog-leaning metal. It’s book-ended by two exceptional tracks: the title track, a soaring and showy materialism takedown (“Each man is what he owns/Whether or not one truly exists is a question of having things”), and the Faith-No-More-goes-to-the-circus closer “Blood Don’t Eliogabalus”, and the album decorated a host of “Best of 2013” lists (Metalsucks writers, Heavy Blog is Heavy, Metal Descent, Blackmetal and Brews, Sputnik Music, and more).

‘The Tower’ was released on September 30th, 2013 in North America (September 27th worldwide) ‘The Tower’ was recorded at the Conclave & Earshot Studios in Bergen, Norway, mixed by Herbrand Larsen (ENSLAVED), and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios (OPETH, KATATONIA, DEVIN TOWNSEND, IHSAHN, ENSLAVED). ‘The Tower’, their first album for Season of Mist is streaming in its entirety here and available for purchase across CD and LP formats here.

Dynamic, schizophrenic metal outfit VULTURE INDUSTRIES has announced a special “The Babylon Spiral” show as part of the Inferno Festival with their visual artist Costin Chioreanu (CARACH ANGREN, MAYHEM) and special guest VIRUS, issues Season Of Mist. In addition to the Inferno Festival show, the band have added two dates in Spain with progressive supergroup SOEN. A full list of dates is below. These new dates follow the band’s recently wrapped up a string of tour of the Baltic states this past weekend.

15th Anniversary edition of Inferno Metal Festival 2015, set to be held on 1-4th April in Norway, has announced a special event for April 2nd:

There will be a very special happening at Kulturhuset during Inferno Metal Festival on Thursday, 2. April, when graphic artist COSTIN CHIOREANU joins VULTURE INDUSTRIES and VIRUS for a gig. For the first time avantgarde metallers Vulture Industries and graphic artist Costin Chioreanu will come together on stage for a show called “The Babylon Spiral”. Also playing this evening are the always great Virus, with their avantgarde metal. This event is included in the festival pass (3 or 4 days pass), but not in the day pass. Tickets for the event can be bought for 200,- nok. (see more details below)

VULTURE INDUSTRIES + COSTIN CHIOREANU: “THE BABYLON SPIRAL SHOW”

For the first time avantgarde metallers Vulture Industries and graphic artist Costin Chioreanu will come together on stage. The Babylon Spiral combines the atmosphere and aesthetics of the Expressionist Cinema of 1920’s Germany with the intensity and eeriness of a Vulture Industries concert. Using specially designed stage props, actively manipulated by the artist throughout the show, the concert will draw the audience on a journey through time.The collaboration between Vulture Industries and Costin Chioreanu grew from a mutual admiration between the two sets of artists. The first stop on the journey happened on the third VI album “The Tower”, and was followed by the animation video “Lost Among Liars”. We are now approaching the summit of our collaboration and you are invited to ascend with us.

For the first time in Oslo, Costin Chioreanu will present an exhibition of his selected artworks. The exhibition will be hosted at Kulturhuset exclusively for the Inferno Metal festival. Costin is a Romanian graphic artist and musician, and is renowned for his work with major acts such as At The Gates, Mayhem, Ihsahn, Ulver, Virus, Vulture Industries, Dordeduh and many others.

VIRUS
Virus rose out of the ashes of Czral’s 90’s great avantgarde black metal outfit Ved Buens Ende in 2000. The band has now released three albums and one EP, with a new kind of experimental metal and rock, based on the dissonant chord foundations laid in Ved Buens Ende. Virus is one of the truly original bands in Norway nowadays, and they are a band that always give away a great musical experience when they play live. Check them out at Inferno Metal Festival 2015!

2015 marks the 15 year anniversary for Inferno Metal Festival. This will be celebrated by giving you the best festival ever. Inferno Metal Festival is the longest running and biggest metal festival in Norway and one of the most important extreme metal festival in Europe. We are very proud of this position and we will continue fronting Norwegian metal and bringing bands from all over the world to Norway.
