Based on comments per view, it has more comments than any other music video by her, so far, and she has had two viral music videos on her popular YouTube channel, in the past..
The new album has already been hailed as “a perfect album, 10/10,” and she is being praised for “displaying great sense of humour ” (Rick Palin, Firebrand Radio) which is much needed, in a time when everyone is afraid of offending anyone, no matter how innocent their intentions are. By brilliant use of self irony, satire and humour – she gives the world an album that many have described as “just what is needed, in these difficult times.” By adding two very compassionate songs on the album, her genuine empathy and care comes across, as she challenges others to do more to help.
The album has elements reminiscent of the great rock bands of the -70 and European pop, in addition to her very own mix of catchy hooks and innovative songwriting, so it reaches beyond the “acoustic” genre. Her smooth electric-guitar sound, blistering guitar technique and dramatic piano arrangements give the listener a taste of her virtuosity, without giving into the temptation of showing off, as the main instrument on these “acoustic” albums is her four octaves, soulful, crystal clear, Norwegian voice.
“The Lockdown” is the 3rd song and music video from the album, and one of the few songs featuring only her stunning voice and piano.
The only song that contains any profanity is “Go Back To Norway,” which contains the word “shit.”
The album can be pre-ordered from her official website now. Worldwide release on all digital platforms is July 9, 2020. As always, there was no use of Auto Tune, or other means of “lack of talent compensation,” on the album.
It was recorded and released while she was in year 2 of a 3,5 years recovery from serious illness, caused by a vicious parasite infection that left her bedridden for 18 months. She has now fully recovered.
Born in Norway, Berit’s family emigrated to Verona, Italy when she was 6 years old, and lived there until she was 12. After a year in France, the family moved to the US. She has lived in Florida, Chicago and Santa Clarita, California. Her youngest brother was born in Chicago, while she attended high school there. The family settled in England, UK, some years ago, where they have swapped the noisy big city life of Chicago and London with the idyllic countryside of the Cotswolds. The Chief can do interviews speaking Norwegian, English, Italian and (some) French.
