Veteran Greek/Swedish melodic death metallers NIGHTRAGE have launched a new digital single, “Foul Vile Life” from their recently released sixth studio album, The Puritan. “Foul Vile Life” can be purchased on iTunes HERE. It can also be streamed via Soundcloud below.
“This song is pure Nightrage style with thrashy riffs and ethereal melodies,” commented guitarist/founder, Marios Iliopoulos. “I like the straightforward metal driving vibe of the song, and I remember this one was really easy for us to compose. Great vocal hooks here on the chorus from Ronnie, choir like, strong and powerful. The song has the signature Nightrage harmonies and tight signature riffs. The lyrics speak about this endless fight to get over your inner demons and break away from all the negativity and fear from the fake promises and lies. It’s a journey trying to find your inner self from all the dark past.”
The Puritan – an uncompromising, eerie, dramatic and melodic death metal journey in its purest essence – welcomes new Nightrage vocalist, Ronnie Nyman, to the mix. Nyman joins founding member, guitarist Marios Iliopoulos, and bassist, Anders Hammer, after performing with the band last year on its Japanese and Russian tours.
Album number six was produced by Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, Devin Townsend, Soilwork) and George Nerantzis at Dugout Productions in Uppsala, Sweden.

Metal Shock Finland is proud to premiere for Europe the new video for the single/remix ‘Stare Into Infinity’ by Greek/Swedish melodic death metallers NIGHTRAGE. The single is taken from the band’s new forthcoming album “The Puritan” which will be released on 24th of April via Despotz Records worldwide. Check out the video below:
Guitarist Marios Iliopoulos expresses his thoughts on the track:
“‘Stare Into Infinity’ it´s one of my favourite songs on our new album “The Puritan” and has all those elements that is Nightrage. Heavy riffs, emotional melodies and brutal vocal hooks. The whole arrangement of the song it´s very simplistic and in your face. Loving the verses that are very thrashy, with straightforward riffs and pounding drums, creating that feeling of power and metal mayhem. The chorus of the song its where the song really lifting up with those signature Nightrage melodic guitars and 80´s metal big riffs played with a thrashy and more modern approach, and Ronnie´s vocals, singing with such a great passion and old school melodic death metal vibes, making a really cool contrast on that part. The production and sound that Daniel Bergstrand and George Neranzis did for the song, made all the difference in the world, they really gave the song the needed power and loudness to create such a strong and beautifully loud brutal/melodic sound. It´s a song that has to do lyrically from leading you out of dark times, reaching the light at the end of the tunnel and leave everything that troubling you behind, searching to find your inner self.

Greek/Swedish melodic death metal band, NIGHTRAGE, has teamed up with MetalSucks.net to stream “Desperate Vows”, a new song from the band’s upcoming sixth studio album, The Puritan, set to release on April 24 through Despotz Records. Stream the new track, featuring a guest vocal appearance from Lawrence Mackrory (Darkane, F.K.Ü.), exclusively at this location.
“‘Desperate Vows’ is the song on the new album with some hit potential, but it still keeps the root metal Nightrage identity,” guitarist/founder Marios Iliopoulos told MetalSucks. “We had the pleasure to work with Lawrence Mackrory from Darkane. I really like his amazing high tones and the metal feelings in his voice. We sometimes like to have some kind of cleaner type of voice tones on our albums, and it proved to be that ‘Desperate Vows’ was the song that was calling for that direction. I think we have achieved to create a song that is still metal and really interesting. It has a more hooky chorus with two different voices complementing each other.”
