Nuclear Blast Records has issued as follows:

Opening with a quote from American author & poet Maya Angelou and closing with a quote from THIN LIZZY frontman & bassist Phil Lynott, the new BLACK STAR RIDERS video for “Kingdom Of The Lost” has debuted on the Classic Rock Magazine homepage.

Described as “one of the most personal songs for me on the record” by BLACK STAR RIDERS vocalist Ricky Warwick, “Kingdom Of The Lost” comes off the band’s debut album, All Hell Breaks Loose, which entered the American Billboard Heatseekers chart at #5 & the Billboard Hard Music chart at #19 this past May. It remained on the Billboard Heatseekers chart at the #19 position during its second week.

World chart album debut numbers for All Hell Breaks Loose include: #15 – Sweden, #25 – U.K., #29 – Germany, #38 – Finland, #63 – Switzerland, #64 – Ireland, #107 – Wallonia, #122 – France, #163 – Belgium.

ABOUT BLACK STAR RIDERS: In 2012, the touring members of THIN LIZZY began to seriously consider utilizing the vast songwriting talent within the band and spoke of it freely in the press. When THIN LIZZY drummer Brian Downey and keyboardist Darren Wharton bowed out of a new studio album and the subsequent tours to support it, the remaining members decided to continue under the BLACK STAR RIDERS name allowing the band to forge forward from – yet informed by – the historical legacy infused in the THIN LIZZY name.

Rocktologist recently conducted an interview with guitarist Scott Gorham (BLACK STAR RIDERS, THIN LIZZY). An excerpt is available below:

Q: Do you see this Black Star Riders lineup as a long term relationship?

Gorham: “Well, I certainly hope so, and I’m sure that the rest of the guys in the band feel the same. It’s taken me a while to get the right people. With Ricky I don’t see anything ever changing; he will always be the front guy, and I truly love Damon Johnson, I love his style and I love his playing, so I don’t see him ever being replaced. You can count this as a permanent set up.”

Q: With Brian Robertson you formed one of the most formidable guitar duos in rock history. How does that make you feel today?

Gorham: “Yes, oviously I feel very good about that. I don’t think that at the time both Brian and I were thinking I those terms. We were just happy playing and trying to get to the next album. But yes, it feels nice that people appreciate what we did and how we did it. It a very cool thing.”

Q: What is your relationship with John Sykes these days?

Gorham: “There is no relationship. We went our separate ways and that was it.”

PHIL LYNOTT’s Mother’s Home Burgled On 83rd Birthday

According to Independent.ie, THIN LIZZY legend Phil Lynott’s mother’s home has been burgled on her 83rd birthday.

Philomena Lynott was upstairs in her Sutton, Dublin, home when thieves smashed their way into the conservatory of the house bought for her by the Thin Lizzy singer.

The burglars struck just after 5pm on Tuesday when her nephew Graham drove out of the driveway of the seafront home.

“I heard noise but I thought it was the flower pots rattling in the wind. The phone had been going off all day with Phil’s fans ringing to wish me a happy birthday,” she said.

The three unidentified men then made their way through a room full of Phil Lynott memorabilia and into her living room.

In a new interview with Classic Rock Revisted’s Jeb Wright, MEGADETH leader Dave Mustaine talks about the band’s new album, Super Collider, Gigantour, and more. An excerpt follows:

Q: I love ‘Cold Sweat’ so before we talk about the entire album tell me how you came to record this THIN LIZZY tune?

A: “There have been some smart-alecks out there that say that we did it because we wanted to do a Thin Lizzy tune better than METALLICA, but we’re not playing that game anymore. I did the song because we had wanted to do that song for a long time. It had been rambling around since Countdown To Extinction and Youthanasia. There are a lot of great Thin Lizzy songs but ‘Cold Sweat’ just called my name because I’m a street kid just like PHIL LYNOTT was. We have a lot in common and, of course, we have several things that are different, but when I listen to those lyrics, I really identify with them. In my estimation, some of the best Thin Lizzy music ever written was the title track to Thunder And Lightning and ‘Cold Sweat’.”
