The Internet is full of…stuff. And sometimes, the most unexpected stuff can be the most enjoyable. On a recent journey through the wilderness of YouTube, we unearthed some fan-created remixes of songs that, in many cases, we frankly didn’t think would be all that remix-able. But the results are pretty impressive, so we’ve decided to share six of them with you.
Here are radical reworkings of:
The Amity Affliction‘s “No Sleep Till Brisbane”; Korn‘s “Way Too Far”; Machine Head‘s “Imperium”; Opeth‘s “Hope Leaves”; Slipknot‘s “Psychosocial”;
and Trivium‘s “Dying in Your Arms.”
Florida metallers TRIVIUM have been forced to cancel their previously announced September 16 concert at La Casa Del Artista in Caracas, Venezuela.
The band states, “There are visa and other issues preventing us from legally entering the country and performing. We tried everything in our ability to avoid this result. However, it is unfortunately completely out of our control. We are absolutely gutted that we are being prevented from playing and we promise to make this up to our incredible and loyal Venezuelan fans on our next tour of South America. Our shows in Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia and Mexico are 100% confirmed and will not be affected.”
On August 19, Pop Culture Madness magazine conducted an interview with bassist Paolo Gregoletto of Florida metallers TRIVIUM at the Philadelphis, Pennsylvania stop of the Trespass America tour. You can now watch the chat below.
Speaking to PureGrainAudio‘s Mitch Lafon at this year’s edition of the Heavy MTL festival, TRIVIUM guitarist Corey Beaulieu was asked if the band is planning to return to the studio soon to begin recording the follow-up to last year’s “In Waves”. “Right now we’re on our last North American tour,” Corey said. “And then we’ve got a few other things, like South America and a European headlining tour. That wraps up November 20 — [that] is the last show — but then the rest of the year is gonna be, I guess, recharging; we’re taking a break. And as soon as January hits, we’re pumping out a new album that will hopefully be out maybe August or September next year; that’s kind of the goal.”
According to the guitarist, TRIVIUM has been amassing new ideas for the past few months while touring the world in support of the band’s latest CD.
“The whole time we’re on tour, we’re always writing,” he said. “So we’re always coming up with ideas and we’ve been demoing, just on a laptop, in the back of the bus — very do-it-yourself-type stuff. But it sounds great. We’re really getting the ideas worked out and we’re just trying as much done on tour that we can possibly do and get the songs as best as they can be, so once we get off tour, we don’t have to sit around for a couple of months trying to figure out what the fuck we’re doing. We just wanna get in the studio and get this stuff recorded.”
Trivium frontman Matt Heafy was interviewed by MetalInsider.net this weekend, and he’s got a lot to say about potential side projects, Trivium‘s future plans, and much more.
He says the band will be entering the studio early next year to record the follow-up to In Waves, which he claims will contain “the best ingredients of everything we’ve ever done as a band. It’s really hard to describe, though, with just metal adjectives like “heavy,” “fast” and “brutal.” It’s so hard to describe it with those words. Plus, it’s so early in the game that things can always change, as they always do in our band.”
He says he’s also spending some of his very few spare moments working on a black-metal-inspired project called Mrityu, which he describes as “derived from genres of extreme metal.” He says, “What’s nice is that with Trivium there’s a set thing of what we can and can’t do, not saying I feel limited by the band, but there are things that I know that are and aren’t our sound through experimenting. And with this I can do anything. The songs can go into any direction, any tangent, anything that I feel, and I can be very selfish about the project, which is very nice.” Read the whole thing!
