Portugal’s VAGOS METAL FEST has announced one of their headlining acts for a blasphemous summer of 2020, and confirmed Black Metal legends BEHEMOTH! Over the course of the last 28 years, BEHEMOTH have pushed the boundaries of death and black metal and heresy alike. While anti-Christian sentiment might seem like stale bread where most metal bands are concerned, for BEHEMOTH such ideas represent a very real threat to their physical freedom: Time and again, the government of their native Poland has charged them with various “crimes”. Mastermind Nergal and his bandmates — Orion, Inferno and Seth — have channeled all their anger and creative spirit into the passion of a distinctive sound, which influenced entire generations from all over the globe since decades. VAGOS METAL FEST is beyond proud to welcome the iconic band to their eclectic line-up in 2020, that already consists of high class names such as TESTAMENT, HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY, ASPHYX and TROLLFEST, with many more to be announced in the time ahead!
The 5th edition of VAGOS METAL FEST will be taking place between July 30th – August 1st 2020 in Vagos close to Porto, weekend passes are now available at THIS LOCATION!Start your holiday plans and join an ultimate, unforgettable metal trip under the sun of Portugal!

Scandal and tragedy! TROLLFEST have been neglecting Norway for a long time! But fear not, redemption is at hand! In May, the Trolls will expand the expedition throughout their Motherland, and they are ready to spread their mad joy of playing, and of course their new album, “Helluva”, over the fjords, mountains and straight into your hearts. It will be the craziest norwegian metal show ever (that’s a garanty), bereft of self-importance and pretentiousness, but full of pride and radiance! TROLLFEST are in ecstasy over their latest creation, and “Helluva” will be showcased with both funk and ferocity! If you know what’s good for you; bring your best beer holding device, jump (or squat) on down to your local stage and join the madness! Kaos to the people!
12 May @ Hamar – Sebs
13 May @ Trondheim – Good Omens
18 May @ Oslo – Hard Rock Cafe
19 May @ Kristiansand – Onkel Aksel
20 May @ Haugesund – Flytten
And here is the Norwegian version if you are interested in learning some Norwegian:
Skandale!
With only a few days to go before the release of their sixth full-length album, the unstoppable Norwegians that form TROLLFEST have debuted a video for “Kaptein Kaos”, the title track from the album which is due to hit the streets on NoiseArt records on the 28th March in Europe and the 8th April in North America. The track was chosen because, according to the band, it represents the overall feel of the new album – fun, chaos and utter madness, and shows the band’s Troll personas being employed to formulate a special brew by the Kaos Corp, the company owned by the time-travelling hero Kaptein Kaos himself. Helped along by their friend Bok’n’Brusetruse (aka Jon Erik Bokn of DEAD TROOPER and METAL MILITIA), the resourceful Trolls go through various failed attempts before coming up with a new super drink that will change the history of mankind. The Kaptein Kaos video can be seen below:
Whilst not abandoning the influence of Scandinavian Folk Music and Eastern European influence that has coloured the band’s music, which TROLLFEST define as True Norwegian Balkan Metal, the musicians have undoubtedly grown in skill over more than a decade, and have rounded out their sound with Tango and Asian rhythms and richer melody lines and an even larger plethora of traditional and modern instruments. Recorded at the dUb Studio in Oslo and at the “Trollskogen Recording Facilities”, the album has been mixed by Endre Kirkesola. Once again the fantastic artwork that depicts the crazy characters that inhabit TROLLFEST’s imagination is by Swedish Cartoonist Jonas Darnell and the design is by Terje Johnsen, both long-time collaborators of the band.
TROLLFEST recently released the track “Ave Maria” from the album as a digital single, and “Kaptein Kaos”, will be released in both limited edition digipak CD/DVD and 12″ vinyl versions, and is available to pre-order now from http://trollfest.bigcartel.com/ where different versions of special fan packs are also available.

Today, February 28th TROLLFEST has released a digital single from their upcoming sixth full-length album “Kaptein Kaos”. The single, titled “Ave Maria”, recounts one of the adventures that befall the time-travelling hero of the album Kaptein Kaos, who ends up in Jerusalem during his travels and meets an attractive, and very willing, young maiden who he seduces with a song. Nine months later, and with the eponymous hero long gone, the maiden finds herself in somewhat of a tricky situation, especially as she lives in a puritan village, so she explains that her child was “sent from God”. As with the album, artwork for “Ave Maria” is by the Swedish cartoonist Jonas Darnell and designer Terje Johnsen. “Ave Maria” will be available on NoiseArt Records from all the usual digital distributors and a snippet from the song can be heard below:
“Kaptein Kaos” itself (about which KORPIKLAANI’S Jonne Järvelä, says:“Trollfest are even more catchy, more melodic and more twisted than ever...I really like its (good way) sick arrangements and instrumentation…I never heard anything like this before…Unbelievable album!”), will hit the streets on the 28th March in Europe and the 8th of April in North America. The album marks a slight change in musical direction for the Norwegians who describe themselves as the pioneers of “True Norwegian Balkan Metal”, and whose lyrics are written and sung in “Trollspråk”, a language of their own devising and which is spoken in the fantasy world of eccentric and fun-loving Trolls that the band have created. Rock grooves and rich melody lines have joined the blast beats, and TROLLFEST’s trademark Eastern European influences have been expanded to include Tango rhythms, and Asian and Scandinavian folk music. Track list for “Kaptein Kaos” is as follows:
1. Trolltramp
2. Kaptein Kaos
