Finnish rockers Unnamed Feeling are set to release their debut album ‘mellow shades of green and yellow’ on November 13th 2026 via Secret Entertainment. 

The first single ‘negative narrative’ is accompanied by a music video which is available below.

The band comments:

“With its compelling riff, only three lines of lyrics and a straightforward composition, negative narrative is a song about the prejudices and expectations we face as children – who/what we should become, and how such assumptions affect us growing up. There’s this idea of a “normative life course” that’s laid out for children, with all the crucial decisions already made for them and expected milestones to be achieved at certain parts of life. Such path is to be pursued with constant social pressure from those around us – especially those most closely related.

Moving between the driving opening riff, open major chords in the verses and the heavier half-time bridge section, the song blends together pop melody and the roughness of rock music.

The video was shot in a classroom at a school building, an ambience thought would best reflect the theme of the song. The sepia color palette combined with its chaotic and blistering performance makes the video a memorable visual experience, with a relatability in the frustration we all share – longing for the past. 

As for the studio, the song was one of the very few on the album with which we had to do two takes instead of only one, as with no use of a click track the first take had slightly too much variation at times with the tempo. As an experimental thing for the lower frequencies both a bass guitar and a synth bass were used, which resulted in the thick bass sound that carries throughout the song.”

Unnamed Feeling is a rock duo from Pori, Finland. Formed in 2021 the band consists of Matti Meronen (vocals, guitar) and Eemeli Mäntylä (vocals, drums). Known for their blatant delivery and blistering live performances, their raw attitude combined with a love for pop music blends into an intriguing and fresh approach. 

Their debut album “mellow shades of green and yellow”, released in November 2026, combines the aforementioned into a concise yet rich soundscape, with a theme that relies on how different the world looks through the eyes of a child – more vibrant, more bright, more warm – more mellow. 

Over the past year, the band has been actively touring their home country, playing many legendary underground venues such as Bar Loose (Helsinki), Lepakkomies (Helsinki), Bar15 Basement (Seinäjoki) and Nirvana (Turku).
