Wacen Open Air has released another W:O:A show at WackenTV. The melodic death metal band INSOMNIUM played 2012 for the very first time at Wacken and if you want to know what happend there – check the video below:

Professionally filmed video footage of VOLBEAT‘s entire performance at this year’s Wacken Open Air festival, which took place August 2-4 in Wacken, Germany can be seen below.
With VOLBEAT‘s latest North American tour finished, the band is probably starting to think about its next album. Drummer Jon Larsen told The Pulse Of Radio what the Danish rockers’ plans are for the rest of 2012. “I think we’re gonna go to the rehearsal room and hide out for a few months, try to come up with some new stuff. And if everything goes to plan, we’ll go in the studio later this year to record a new album.”
Frontman Michael Poulsen told Loudwire that new music is already in the works, saying, “Some material has been written on the road and some has been written at home. We will be home in a couple of days then it’s up to me to put all the pieces together and then we will enter the studio probably late this year, maybe early next year, but there will definitely be a new VOLBEAT record out, I believe around early April or something like that.”
Poulsen added about the new material, “It’s the VOLBEAT style, and again there’s going to be a lot of great surprises, so I can’t wait to get home to put all the pieces together.”
VOLBEAT broke through on the American market last year with its fourth album, 2010’s “Beyond Hell/Above Heaven”. All four of the band’s CDs have gone gold in its native Denmark.
The record yielded the Top 10 rock radio tracks “Fallen”, “A Warrior’s Call” and current single “Still Counting”.

Organizers of the world (in)famous Wacken Open Air 2012, taking place in Wacken, Germany next weekend, have checked in with the following update:

“Dear Metalheads,
Due to the weather situation (partial more than 50 liter/m² rain in one hour) we have a special request to you:
Due to the heavy rain an early arrival is not possible before Tuesday, July 31st. The same goes for people travelling without their own vehicle. If possible please travel by bus or train, which ensures a comfortable and safe arrival. To guarantee us, but ESPECIALLY you, a smooth festival we are depending on your cooperation.
The grounds are completely soaked at the moment and CAN’T be frequented by automobiles. Unfortunately, more rain is announced for this weekend.
The whole team is working at full speed at the dewatering and preparation of the grounds to enable the camping at the automobiles and to afford you the best possible camping grounds. The weather outlook for the festival time is better, but every day counts to get the grounds dry, so that they will sustain the festival time, which is of course in everyone’s interest. But this means that the campgrounds have to be blank as long as possible and that they can’t be frequented by car or foot.
Please use the attractive travel offers with bus and train; more info in our travel portal.
We hope and request your cooperation and we are sure that you will understand and support us, to make the W:O:A the most awesome metal party of the year again. Otherwise we would probably unfortunately be forced to separate camping and parking!
All workers which are setting up the W:O:A are anyhow in cheerful spirits and we are looking forward to welcome you as of Wednesday, when we will say again:
Faster:Harder:Louder – See you in Wacken Metalheads – Rain or Shine!!!”

The reactivated MINISTRY, SCORPIONS, HAMMERFALL, AMON AMARTH and GAMMA RAY are the newly confirmed bands for next year’s edition of the Wacken Open Air festival, set to take place August 2-4, 2012 in Wacken, Germany. Also scheduled to appear are U.D.O. and CRADLE OF FILTH.
MINISTRY‘s “farewell” tour, the “C-U-LaTour”, started its North American leg on March 26, 2008 and concluded in Chicago on May 12, 2008. The final date on the trek took place on July 18, 2008 at the Tripod in Dublin, Ireland. During the performance, MINISTRY mainman Al Jourgensen repeatedly reaffirmed that it would indeed be the last-ever MINISTRY show. Due to a large demand for tickets, an extra gig was added at the Tripod on July 19, 2008. “Adios… Puta Madres”, a live album featuring material culled from MINISTRY‘s “final” tour, was released in 2009 on CD and DVD.
When asked in a 2007 interview prior to “C U LaTouR 2008” if there would ever be a big MINISTRY reunion in 15 years, Jourgensen said, “I don’t think so, my friend. First of all, who am I gonna get to reunionize with? I’m the fucking band. So unless I make a reunion with myself… Whatever, no. I’ve got a lot of other stuff going on. Literally, I’m booked solid for the next 15 months. I know exactly what I’m doing for the next 15 months, plus I’ve got a record label [Thirteenth Planet Records], I’ve got a lot of other bands I need to baby-sit for. There would be no time, need, or inclination to every get some kind of redundancy going on.”
