WAR-SAW was formed in Warsaw in 2008. From the very beginning, the band has consistently developed its own brand of fast, technical and razor-sharp thrash metal, combining the genre’s classic energy with a modern approach to sound. The band has performed extensively, including appearances at Metalfest in Jaworzno and Dark Fest Open Air, as well as a show in Oberhausen celebrating Destruction’s anniversary and a performance alongside Rotting Christ.
The band’s discography includes “Nuclear Nightmare” (LP, 2013), “Blood Honour Vendetta” (EP, 2015) and “The Manifest” (LP, 2017). Following the release of its second full-length album, the band’s activity slowed down considerably due to a tragic event in the life of its leader, Marek “Agnostic” Molenda, as well as the COVID-19 pandemic.
Marek “Agnostic” Molenda reflects on this difficult period: “On February 25, 2020, one week before the lockdown was announced, my house burned down along with everything I owned. I had to focus on rebuilding a home for myself and my five-year-old son, with whom I spent the winter living in a camper. Once we had a roof over our heads again, my hunger for creating music returned. A few years later, I broke my wrist. During six weeks of medical leave, with my left hand in a cast, I wrote new material, and three of those songs eventually appeared on the Blood for God EP.”
Today, WAR-SAW rises from the ashes, returning at full force with renewed energy and a powerful dose of high-impact thrash metal. On June 20, 2026, the Warsaw-based band released its new EP, “Blood for God”.
The material was mixed and mastered by Filip “Heinrich” Hałucha at Heinrich House Studio, while the drums were recorded by session musician Paweł “Pavulon” Jaroszewicz (Patriarkh, ex-Antigama). Marek “Agnostic” Molenda recorded his guitar solos using a Dean Vengeance Fluence, while Paweł “Abaddon” Rekowski used a Solar 1.6V RD Artist EverTune. Mexican vocalist Alex “Growler” Quintero joined the band in 2024. Sylwia Ciszewska provided vocals on the two cover tracks, with guest appearances by her husband Paweł and their daughter Sabina. The artwork was created by Michał “Xaay” Loranc, known for his work with Nile, Pestilence, God Dethroned and Mysthicon.
The new EP, “Blood for God”, was released digitally and is available on all major streaming platforms (smart link URL). The band has also independently released the EP on CD.
Marek “Agnostic” Molenda adds:
“Our cover of Running Wild’s ‘Under Jolly Roger’, as well as the entire EP, is dedicated to Artur ‘Arnold’ Papierski, the late husband of our former vocalist, Sylwia Ciszewska. It was his favourite song, and the original version was also played at his funeral.“
