Maltese melodic metal veterans WEEPING SILENCE have recently signed a Management and Booking deal with Nick Grima MGT.

WEEPING SILENCE is a Melodic Metal band with Death and Progressive Metal influences based in Malta. The band has evolved steadily since its formation in 1998 and has since released four albums with record labels, the latest one being through Massacre Records (DE).

Weeping Silence’s solid work-ethic and reputation has enabled it to play in numerous festivals both locally and abroad – including Metaldays Open Air (twice) and Gothoom. The band has also supported / co-headlined several internationally-renowned bands such as Therion, Moonspell, Lacuna Coil, Septic Flesh, Orphaned land, Cadaveria, Draconian, Moonsorrow and Ahab. 

Since 2018, Weeping Silence has merged its earlier atmospheric Gothic Doom roots with the more eclectic, dynamic and conceptual approach that characterises the current musical direction.  In 2011, Weeping Silence released its second album ‘Theatre of Life’ that was characterised by midpace gothic elements and grandiose orchestrations. The track ‘Dark Waters’ off this album was voted first in the EKR A-List People’s Choice Poll.  After the release of this album, the band decided to open the door for international festivals and tours, and opportunities started presenting themselves immediately.

Weeping Silence entered the studio again to record ‘For the Unsung’. Released in deluxe digipack edition in 2012 by Ravenheart Rec (UK), it features male backing vocals for the first time, and marked a step towards a more pronounced Doom Metal element in the band. Within this more aggressive, gothic-doom framework, Anders Jacobsson of renowned Swedish act Draconian featured as guest vocalist. 

PREACH And DESECRATE Confirmed for Metal Over Malta III Festival

ALPHA OMEGA Management has a pleasure to announce that two of its roster bands, PREACH and DESECRATE are confirmed for Metal Over Malta III Festival, set to take place on March 10-11, 2017. The festival will be headlined by ORPHANED LAND and CIVIL WAR. Metal over Malta Festival is hosted by another Alpha Omega roster band, WEEPING SILENCE. Facebook event page here.

PREACH, formed in 2006, is a proof of the fact why Swedish metal is held in such a high consideration throughout the world. With their straight forward riffs, melodic hooks and inyourface vocals the band deliver metal as it’s supposed to be. Hard, heavy and passionate! Formed in 1995, DESECRATE immediately became protagonist in the Italian underground scene. Their debut full-length album “Moonshiny Tales (The Torment and the Rapture)” came out in 1998 via Mephisto Records. Due to several musical disagreements, the band went to hiatus in 2001, but after nine years, in 2010, DESECRATE raised from the ashes again, releasing a new album, “XIII The Death” in 2012, via Inverse Records. The band’s sound has remained faithful to the European matrix death metal of the 90’s aggressive and scratching sonority, with several arrangement innovations which together with the constant use of the piano, create a very personal sound. Recently the band has toured in Italy, having one of the highlights the final show with Dark Tranquillity. DESECRATE‘s latest effort “Orpheus” came out in January 2015, followed by a promotional tour in Italy. DESECRATE‘s song “Nevermore”, from “Orpheus”, will be featuring in the movie, entitled “Stridor”. The film will come out in late January/early February 2017. Malta’s Gothic/Doom Metallers WEEPING SILENCE are confirmed for the Italian tour in November, supporting doom masters AHAB. The tour will see in the line-up also The Foreshadowing, plus other bands on individual dates.

WEEPING SILENCE supporting AHAB:
24 November at Circolo Colony, Brescia
25 November at Cycle Club, Calenzano (FI)
26 November at RomaObsura Festival, Traffic Club, Roma
27 November at Wave, Misano Adriatico (RN)

The dates include the Rome festival Romaobscura, also check out below all the WEEPING SILENCE dates for the second part of this year.

“Cathedrals of Doom” is the project name for an international doom metal compilation, released on 13th December. The album is featured by ECLIPSE OF THE SUN, LES MEMOIRES FALL, SOMNUS AETERNUS, SPIRIT DESCENT and WEEPING SILENCE.

The real art do not know bounds: in the Cathedral of Doom album you can listen songs of bands from 5 different countries (Brazil, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary and Malta). 9 long, magical and doomy work. All of them are true diamonds from the doom metal underground.
