Colorado Springs one-man outfit BURIED REALM has released a single for the song “Asphyxiation’s Lullaby”, taken from the debut album ‘The Ichor Carcinoma’, the song features Teemu Mäntysaari of WINTERSUN and Ryan Strain.

Ryan Strain commented:
Back in the fall of 2016, I had the pleasure of recording this guest chorus/bridge/background vocals for the very talented Josh Dummer. Little did I know that Teemu from Wintersun would join me as well for a guest solo. I’m incredibly proud of what we all created together, and I hope you enjoy it as well.

Today, the Finnish kings of epic melodic death, WINTERSUN, unveil the title of their third full length album coming in 2017 via Nuclear Blast:

“THE FOREST SEASONS”

“That’s right folks, we’ll leave you pondering a bit what this name means”, teases front man Jari Mäenpää. “Next week we’ll release the album tracklist and everything will become very clear to you! Promise!”

WHAT IS “IT”?
It’s 2017 folks, and it’s going to be a great year! Time for some big WINTERSUN news? Yes, it is!
When we said that “IT IS DONE”, we did not mean »Time II«, but we meant a NEW ALBUM for sure! »Time II« won’t be the next WINTERSUN album, because of reasons you already know from past updates and interviews.

So what is IT? IT is a NEW ALBUM and it is 100% done! And no, that’s not the name of the album. This album will be something new and different, but equally great or perhaps even better in some ways. Over 53 minutes of solid WINTERSUN material (with no intro tracks) and with a killer concept!

This album will be THE 3rd FULL LENGTH WINTERSUN album. We will release the name of it soon and other details such as the track list etc. We’re gonna start putting the pieces of the puzzle together for you guys, how it’s going to be released and what will happen… It will be a whole new experience! It will all make sense to you very soon!

Finnish metallers WINTERSUN have announced details of their next album. The band stated:

WINTERSUN & KORPIKLAANI Confirmed For Paganfest Tour 2015

Finnish superstars WINTERSUN have been conformed as one of the main headliners of the upcoming Paganfest tour 2015, issues Nuclear Blast. Hailing from the Pagan-olympus, a status they achieved with their high-rates albums »Wintersun« and »Time I« as well as with their rare and enormously impressive live-performances. This name for itself should get Pagan-fans go totally nuts!

WINTERSUN team up with their Finnish comrades TURISAS and Dutch Folksters HEIDEVOLK. Support-acts are the Viking-Black-Deathers OBSCURITY and the Epic-Dark-Folk-Metallers FROSTTIDE.

Furthermore, some of the dates will be Paganfest Extended Shows led by Folk-Metal-superstars KORPIKLAANI. The Finnish six-piece will add a spicy bunch of Folk Metal finished with some Humppa-action to the bill to drive the live-crowds totally mad! They are joined by Hannover’s finest GRAILKNIGHTS, who add some Melodic Death / Power Metal to spread up the musical bandwidth a bit. Last but definitely not least German FINSERFORST are completing Paganfest 2015’s billing.

WINTERSUN Quality Video Footage Of San Francisco Concert

According to Blabbermouth.net, CapitalChaosTV.com has uploaded quality video footage of Finnish epic metallers WINTERSUN performing the song “Death And The Healing” on August 5 at DNA Lounge in San Franciscso, California. You can check it out below.

After several sold-out shows last year on their inaugural North American co-headlining tour with ELUVEITIE, WINTERSUN has returned to North American shores once again for a headlining tour this August/September. Joining them are Italian symphonic death metal champions FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE, melodic tech-death kings ARSIS and up-and-comers STARKILL.

Prior to embarking on the current trek, WINTERSUN said in a statement: “We’re thrilled to return to North America for a full-scale headliner tour in August and September! It will be our first longer own headlining tour ever and this time, without any setlist length limitations, we’ll be able to offer the North American crowds a special show — representing both the ‘Wintersun’ and ‘Time I’ albums. There might also be some surprises in the setlist as well… We are really looking forward to sharing the live magic with YOU, all the fans out there!”

WINTERSUN’s “Time I” was nominated in the “Metal Album Of The Year” category at this year’s Emma Gaala (Finnish Grammy equivalent), which was held on March 1 at Barona Areena in Espoo, Finland.
“Time I” sold nearly 4,000 copies in its first week of release in the United States to land at position No. 109 on The Billboard 200 chart.
