Swedish sea dogs YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS return with their unique spin on a classic Christmas chant! With “Deck And Hull”, the collective releases their second holiday single off of their new EP, Drawn And Quartered, along with an animated lyric music video.
YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS are already well known for their singalong hymns and unmistakably folksy tunes, and now explore the less-traveled waters of yuletide tuneage! With a stiff sea breeze, a wink of the eye and a dose of bloody, dark humor, the pirates prepare for the freezing cold of winter with a few more aces up their sleeves: YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS are starting a call for fans to suggest Christmas songs from all over the world! Head over to their Facebook page to send in your pick and eventually be part of the band’s upcoming project!
YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS on their new single “Deck And Hull”: “With our song ‘Deck And Hull’, we wanted to really take a swing at the classic candy-coated, happy harmony singing, door-to-door carolers that are so frequent in every American feelgood Christmas movie. We imagine this song being the soundtrack to a bunch of drunken pirates breaking down your door, wrecking your home, stealing all your possessions and pissing in your eggnog. Actually, that’s probably what’s going to happen to you if you don’t buy the vinyl… So, merry bloody Christmas, haha!”
The two-track EP presents another stunning, adventurous, yet bloody side of YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS. “Drawn And Quartered” features a dancing, dangling pirate as he experiences a curious macabre Christmas marvel, whilst “Deck And Hull” captivates with a frenetic tavern-like atmosphere and a beguiling female voice meeting raspy pirate chanting. YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS tug the listener through dreary winter days and prepare them for the most eerily beautiful time of the year.

The salty air is freezing and Swedish sea dogs YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS are ready to trim your Christmas tree in the most chilling of ways! The collective just released their new holiday single, “Drawn And Quartered”, along with an official animated music video.
Their new single is a rum-soaked harbinger of their upcoming 7inch, Drawn And Quartered, out on December 1, 2020 via Napalm Records – heralding in the jolliest season of the year in true swashbuckling manner, but with a ghoulish grin. Wrapped in the swag of pirate folk rock, the newly-interpreted, grim covers of two Christmas classics will draw the listener into a dark underworld of blood and bones.

YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS on the new single: “In YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS, for the last decade we have had a yearly tradition of defiling a Christmas classic. It started as an internal joke, never intended for an audience outside of the band. Now here we are today, releasing our 2020 annual adaptation on a metal label, haha! This year, it is the traditional carol “Hosanna in Excelsis (Ding Dong Merrily on High)” that has been dragged to the chopping block to be hung, drawn and quartered beyond recognition. We doubt that we will hear this version being sung by your average christmas choir anytime soon though.”

Get into the VISIONS OF ATLANTIS vibe and watch the acoustic version of “Nothing Lasts Forever” HERE:
Mirror, mirror on the wall – who is the maddest of them all? The social media rumors are true: The savage beast from the North YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS return in an unabashed metal guise to lead their listener astray. Just in time for the most foolish day of the year, the Swedish sea-pillagers have just released a new piece straight from the untamed sea via Napalm Records: „No Metal, No Pay“ feat. Kris Olivius (Naglfar) along with a social statement, that they have ambitions to become the number one Power Thrash Pirate Metal Band in Europe.
YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS are well known for their singalong hymns and unmistakably folksy tunes, as can be heard on their latest pirate eposHostis Humani Generis. As the true corsairs of hearts, they’ve taken the people’s opinion very seriously and now leave the paths of folk behind: this time, it’s either metal or die! With a stiff sea breeze, a clear wink of the eye and a lot of cheeky humor, the pirates metallize their trademark sound.
YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS on „No Metal, No Pay“:
“With “No Metal, No Pay” we wanted to make fun of ourselves, and joke about the misconceptions that comes from being a folk music band signed to a metal label, and hopefully give people a lough or two in these difficult times. For us, this April’s fools release is our way of saying that although we put a lot of effort into our music, we really don’t take ourselves all that serious all the time. Reviewers and first-time listeners who expect us to sound like great Pirate Metal bands like Alestorm or Running Wild, are prone to be disappointed by the lack of distorted guitars and gut punching blast beats. We are proud and happy to be signed to Napalm Records, one of the worlds biggest metal labels, but we are sticking to what we know best – Pirate Folk.“
Even if it’s just for one day: Put the fiddle aside, strengthen your growls and get ready for YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS’ metal banger!
This fall the Swedish sea marauders YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS will prove once again what they know best: honest and energetic Pirate Folk! They will present their new full-length, Hostis Humani Generis, live on tour. They offer more than enough audacious atmosphere, folk tunes and foul rambling to secure their unique position in the genre. Swedish marauders of the sea take you through the ups and downs of pirate life!

Batten down the hatches! Swedish sea pillagers YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS will capsize your ship with their third single “Rowing With One Hand” from the upcoming album Hostis Humani Generis, to be released on February 7, 2020 via Napalm Records. Along with an atmospheric audiovisual, YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS present another snapshot straight from the pirate capital Nassau.
In the cinematic video, the Swedish pirates prepare the great escape from court and fight for their freebooter rights, clashing with the upscale bourgeoisie. Unmistakably folky, charming and with a bunch of drunken humor, YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS draws you into their maritime universe. “Rowing With One Hand” presents the hard life of pirates on the wild ride through the ancient times.
This intense sing-along hymn and its catchy rhythm lets the listener take part in the ferocious side of the pirates and lets them flee in a cheerful frenzy from the clutches of decency. They find their way in the storm, setting course for the next adventure and keep fighting for their rebellious freedom.
The savage beast from the north, YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS, return with their enthralling fourth album, Hostis Humani Generis, out February 7, 2020 via Napalm Records. Batten down the hatches! The Swedish pirates YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS strike again with the second single from their upcoming album, Hostis Humani Generis – and this time, it’s either sail or die! Accompanied by a (quite literally) bloody atmospheric lyric video, “Elephants’ Dance” depicts struggles of the free-spirited sailors, trapped between their brutal independence and the authorities, imprisoning them in the endless maze of laws and decrees.
Led through a blood-stained map, the viewer, like the pirates themselves, faces the same challenges that await the crew in “Elephants’ Dance”. As death threatens them from both sides of this ongoing conflict, the wild and free “children of the sea” choose the side people of Nassau, their long-time safe haven on Bahamas, over the power of the Crown. Throwing all the rules overboard and breaking free from steady land, YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS find their way in the storm, setting course for the next adventure.
Crude, unmistakably folky, and honest to the bone – “Elephants’ Dance” is not only a worthy representative of the upcoming album, but the next pirate anthem of the group itself!
We are born of the salt, we are children of the sea We don’t bend our knees to no king or country
YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS on “Elephants’ Dance”: “According to an old African saying, when the elephants dance – it’s the grass that gets trampled. British sailors bled for Queen Anne during the war of the Spanish Succession, was dismissed by King George after the treaty of Utrecht, only to be drafted as cannon fodder again during the War of the Quadruple Alliance.
With “Elephants’ Dance” we tell the story of those sailors who had enough and went on the account in the self-proclaimed pirate colony of Nassau. There, Governor Woodes Rogers landed in 1718 with an offer and an ultimatum: Lay down your arms and become a law obiding British citizen again, and all your crimes will be pardoned. Refuse, and you shall be hunted down and stand trial for piracy.”
Sail away with the most authentic pirate rock masterpiece
since the golden age of the dreaded sea-predators!
