Munster, Indiana’s Three Floyds Brewing Company has produced the AMON AMARTH Ragnarök beer.
A description of the Imperial/Strong Porter brew reads as follows: “A beer for the end of ages brewed with our friends in the band AMON AMARTH. This Aesir Porter is a robust and hearty beer brewed with local honey and a small portion of smoked malt. TONY MARTIN, is a heavy metal vocalist best known for his work with Black Sabbath from 1987 to 1991 and again from 1993 to 1997. Tony has since been involved in many other projects (such as the Tony Martin Band, M3, The Alliance, Misha Calvin, The Cage, Giuntini Project II, Phenomena’s Psychofantasy album)… A few days ago I had a chance to interview Tony about his projects and what he’s thinking about the Music Business in generally…
Hi Tony, and welcome to Shock Finland! how are you doing today?
Thanks .. i’m good.
Well, there are so many things to ask, however I’d like to talk first about you as a musician… despite you’re performing almost exclusively as a vocalist, you’re a multi-instrumentalist… you play guitar, bass, drums, violin, keyboards, harmonica, bagpipes, and pan pipes… so, what is your relationship with these instruments, and how you “met” them?
They all come to me by way of curiosity… I never study them.. just pick ’em up and experiment.. if I can get them to work, I use them….

Swedish epic power metallers SABATON are spreading big news:
“We can now confirm the rumours: SABATON will play one final show @ Trix/Hof Ter Lo in Antwerp on the 18th of December. This will be a one-off and we will not bring a set list or respect any venue curfew. Last tour we ended in Essen (Germany) and it was a totally magic night, this time the honour to end the tour has come to Belgium and we are sure that this will be the perfect place and country that we will remember when we enter the studio. The last 5 times SABATON played Trix/Hof Ter Lo, it was sold out in advance, so if you do not want to miss the show of the year make sure you get your tickets directly.
Tickets will be released on the 26th of August.
This show will mark the end of the fantastic 1,5 year long World WarTour and is likely the last chance to hear some of our songs for a very long time since next time we go on tour it will be with a completely new album. After this show we will return to Sweden and start working on the next studio album which currently has the working title “Kings of War”.
History will be written.“

JUDAS PRIEST frontman Rob Halford turns 60 today (August 25). The singer and his bandmates celebrated “with a big ‘Harley’ cake plus a few gifts and cards when [they] were all together in Berlin,” according to a posting on the group’s official web site.
Robert John Arthur “Rob” Halford was born August 25, 1951 in Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire, England and raised in Walsall, England. Rob met Ian Hill through Halford‘s sister, and eventually teamed up with Hill, K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton in the band JUDAS PRIEST.
Rob was the lead singer for JUDAS PRIEST for 20 years — from 1971 until 1991 — before leaving the band to form the modern metal group FIGHT. Halford then went on to form the short-lived TWO project which disbanded after releasing its debut album. He then joined with four other musicians in a project called HALFORD, which issued its first CD, “Resurrection”, in 2000.
Halford reunited with JUDAS PRIEST in 2003 and released the “Angel Of Retribution” album in 2005, followed by a world tour which marked the band’s 30th anniversary. In 2008, PRIEST recorded “Nostradamus” and took part in the Metal Masters tour.
JUDAS PRIEST last year announced that it was embarking on a massive farewell tour in 2011, including a U.S. run of dates which will also feature opening acts BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and THIN LIZZY.
