  1. Outstanding performance, as always. This is the 4th time I have seen them, 1st time with new line up of course. I do miss the old lineup but musically it was pretty much the same minus no keyboardist on the stage. No Daniel on the keyboards and Robban playing a double bass drum was different.
A few technical issues with pedal boards for the guitars and Joakims mic but in no way detracted from the performance, which was as powerful as ever.
If you ever have the chance to see them just go, you will not be disappointed.
They are really just getting known in the states so their shows are nto sold out and such but the crowds that are there love them.
I hope they play Austin again but this time I had to go down the road to San Antonio but it was well worth it.

  2. I saw them last year at their Austin show. They had a good turnout but then again Emo’s was pretty small so maybe 150 or so people there.
I have heard their music before and liked them so this was the first chance I had to see them live and it was really a good show. The stage was small but they worked it really well. They had a replacement Bass player due to their regular guy gettng hurt earlier on tour.
Some friends went to their recent San Antonio show with the new line up and they said it was a very good show too.
I am not sure what to think of the massive lineup change but I guess the end result will be determined when the new band makes a totally new album with all the new members.
I would recommend the band to anyone who like good heavy metal and for a live show I rate the band very high.

  3. A friend of mine here in Austin told me of the bad a year or so ago so I checked their music out and wow, it was really good.
I went to their show in Austin last year and made their show in San Antonio a few months ago too. Also not so sure what to think of the major and sudden lineup change but the show was very good. The new guys are great musicians in their own right.
I would have had a much better time at the San Antonio show had I not eaten from the Korean food truck out front before the show.

  4. LOL, I ate at that food truck too at their San Antonio show and it gave me the quick step. The attendant dude in the bathroom was cool and I got to know him pretty good with all the trips I made there.
The show was good, never saw them before so I cannot compare a before and after. Musically it sounded pretty much the same.
Intense live performance, some bearded dude in a classic 1990 Savatage tour shirt was really getting into it and said he has seen them many times. Many of the people I talked to at the show saw them before and all told me it would be a rockin show, and they were all very correct.

  5. I saw them for first time in Eindhoven about a year ago but was not able to make the show this year in Amsterdam, where I actually live. I was very pregnant then so my doktor told me not to go. My friends went to the show at Melkweg and told me of the wonderful show and I saw video from their mobile.

  6. I saw them before and after the lineup change and like the former better than the latter.

I am not sure what to make of the change in line up but I am sure it is more to do with ego than anything else.

The new band totally rocked though so cannot say anything bad about that to be sure.

The new album totally rocks though a few of the songs fall pretty flat, almost like they were fillers for the album.

The new members are really good musicians and I know their previous works fairly well.

Chris Rorland of course was with Nocturnal Rites as well as TME and Thobbe Englund was with Star Queen and Winterlong. Thobbe filled in for a few dates for the band a few years ago as well.

Robban also was a fill in a few years back and also played with W.E.T and Prey for awhile. I think with W.E.T he was actually a session drummer.

I am glad they are returning to make up their cancelled shows here in Texas, alot of fans here to be sure.

I will go to the Dallas show since I missed it when they cancelled. I drove all the way to San Antonio to see their show there so I must still like the band. The bad thing about the show was they had no shorts to sell as their vendor or promotor did not get the new items in time and I already had the shirts they were selling from the previous tour.

  7. I was stationed in Germany in 2005 and was on holiday driving up to see some stuff at Remagen. I stopped for some beers at a little place there and was chatting up a couple local girls who brought up a band called Sabaton and they were going to see them the next day in Andernach at the Sword Brothers Festival.
We changed numbers and I went my way. They rang me up the next evening as I was getting into Andernach
and gave me directions to the place, do not recall the club name.
It was a great show, totally rocked the house.
No, nothing happened with the girls, they brought their boyfriends with them but we had alot of beers and a rocking good time of it. We are all friends now who stay in contact.
I have not been able to see them since due to being stationed primarily in and around Asia.
