David Farrier from Australia’s 3 News spoke with SLAYER frontman Tom Araya during the band’s Soundwave appearance in Australia recently where he had just played to 25,000 people.

“To me it’s all new, to me it’s always new,” he says. “When we play to big crowds it still surprises me.”
“The only difference with me now is I can’t headbang anymore as I have a plate,” Araya adds. “I can’t do that which is a bum out. That’s something I enjoy doing, and now I can’t. It’s an internal struggle, you know what I mean? I can still go out there and scream my ass off, and play a mean bass and smile a lot.”
