HARPYIE release “Unsere Lieder”, the first pre-single from the band’s farewell album “Nach Uns Die Sintflut”, out on 11 December via Metalville.
When the ship goes down, the band carries on playing.
‘Unsere Lieder’ is the first single from HARPYIE’s latest studio album, ‘Nach uns die Sintflut’ – and also one of the most personal songs in the band’s 15-year history.
On the surface, the song tells the story of a band on board the Titanic. Whilst everything around them seems long since lost, the musicians remain at their posts. They carry on playing – not because they believe they can still save the ship, but because their music is the last thing they can leave behind for the people.
Behind this lies the song’s true story: HARPYIE have announced that they will be bringing their journey together to an end at the end of 2026. ‘Unsere Lieder’ is therefore addressed directly to the people who have accompanied the band over all these years.
We know that this journey is coming to an end. But we’re not simply stepping off the ship. We’ll stay until the very end, play our final concerts, release our last album and leave behind what truly remains of a band in the end: our songs.
The single thus opens the final chapter of HARPYIE’s story – not as a quiet farewell, but with our heads held high, full of pathos and with the promise to stay on deck together with our fans until the very last note.
