Three people are dead and a dozen others are being treated for injuries after a building collapsed Thursday in Santiago, Chile, during a concert by English punk band DOOM, according to gunshyassassin.com.
According to local media reports, the building where the concert was being held crumbled because the venue’s capacity was exceeded by at least 50 people.
Of course it was. Something interesting was happening in Chile. Every head in the area had to be there.

Seven DOOM fans suffered life-threatening injuries and were taken to health centers for treatment.
“It is an authorized club,” police chief Hugo Insulza told reporters, according to AFP.
“What happened was that more people were in the club than should have been present,” causing part of the building to collapse.
“There was a crush of people,” a spokesman for the national emergency office ONEMI said. “Even after the venue reached its full capacity, people kept pushing to get in. That led to the collapse of a containment fence that fell on people inside.”
The club’s administrator was taken into police custody while an investigation is being conducted.

The Southern Californian thrash metal pioneers SLAYER released the first track in nearly a year, ‘When The Stillness Comes.’
Check out the eerie new crusher ‘When The Stillness Comes’ here:
SLAYER guitarist Kerry King was in an unusually bad mood when he wrote the band’s crushing new single: “We were touring Europe and we had a three-hour ride in some fucking minivan, and I’m just miserable in the backseat, not into anything,” he says of the song. “So I just stated jotting down hateful thoughts. It’s about a dude who wakes up at a crime scene and realizes he’s killed everybody. It’s really cool.”
The track, which begins with an eerie guitar line before evolving into a full-on doomy (and classic SLAYER) riff onslaught, will be coming out this weekend on a picture-disc seven-inch for Record Store Day. It’s one of 12 new songs that will appear on the thrash-metal titans’ upcoming new record, their first since 2009’s “Painted Blood”. The LP, produced by Terry Date(PANTERA, WHITE ZOMBIE), will also be the band’s first album since the death of founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman in 2013 and the departure of drummer Dave Lombardo that same year.
‘When The Stillness Comes’ will be available as part of Record Store Day on April 18. The song, accompanied by alive recording of ‘Black Magic’, from the band’s 1983 album “Show No Mercy” and recorded live at the 2014 Wacken Open Air Festival, will be available as a limited-edition (only 5000 copies worldwide), 7-inch vinyl picture disc exclusively at all participating independent record stores worldwide. ABOUT SLAYER:
The Chicago Tribune’s Greg Kot wrote that the five-time-nominated, two-time Grammy winning SLAYER is “one of the great American rock bands of the last 30 years, forget about genre.” Their membership in “The Big Four” – METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX – the four bands that defined the thrash/metal genre – secures their place in music history. Indeed, few bands come close to matching the intensity that SLAYER brings to its live shows, having been named “Best Live Band” by numerous media outlets including Revolver, SPIN, and Metal Hammer. With songs that mirror the turmoil and aberrations of our society – God’s terrifying global genocide, the chaos of our broken political system, chemical warfare, the hideous minds of serial killers, and the way-too-close proximity of world horrors that technology has brought us, SLAYER remains crushing and brutal, steadfastly refusing to cater to the Mainstream. SLAYER‘s founding member, guitarist Jeff Hanneman passed in 2013, and EXODUS guitarist Gary Holt has been filling in since. Paul Bostaph, who was SLAYER‘s drummer from ’94 – ’01, has rejoined bassist/vocalist Tom Araya and guitarist Kerry King, and is back behind the kit. SLAYER is currently in the studio recording a new album set for a 2015 release.
World-renowned, multi-platinum alternative rockers EVERCLEAR have premiered ‘Sugar Noise’ with VICE –the third release from their upcoming ninth studio album, “Black Is The New Black”, out April 28th (The End Records/ADA). The vinyl release will follow on June 16.
“This is a very honest recording….No gimmicks. Not many bells and whistles. All the riffs on this record are things that really just resonated with me and the band, musically and lyrically – from the get-go.” –Everclear frontman Art Alexakis.
Check out the track below:
Everclear has sold over 3.6 million albums worldwide, including the band’s platinum commercial breakthrough, “Sparkle And Fade”, featuring the hit single ‘Heroin Girl,’ as well as the double platinum So Much For The Afterglow, which produced enduring radio staples like ‘I Will Buy You A New Life’ and ‘Father of Mine,’ as ubiquitous on the radio now as then.
“Black Is The New Black” is a diverse and timeless-sounding collection, without ballads and without nostalgia. This is a heavy guitar record. It’s a throwback to the potent passion and urgent delivery of Everclear’s heralded indie debut and subsequent major label classics, delivered through a modern lens. Across the album, the insistent kick of drummer Sean Winchester, athletic groove of bassist Freddy Herrera, ridiculously skilled guitar shred of Davey French, and tasteful keyboards from Josh Crawleyjoin forces with the autobiographical exorcism and narrative storytelling from Everclear’s singer, guitarist, cofounder and songwriter, Art Alexakis.
On May 7, Everclear will embark on the 20th Anniversary Tour of their pivotal 1995 album “Sparkle And Fade” in Australia, where they will be performing the album in full along with select tracks from “Black Is The New Black”. Following Australia, Everclear will tour the US for the fourth annual Summerland Tour, founded by Alexakis and heralded by Rolling Stone as one of the “10 Hottest Summer Package Tours.” This year’s Summerland features Everclear alongside Toadies, Fuel & American Hi-Fi.

Ozzy Osbourne has made a response to Bill Ward‘s recent statement. You can read the response, posted on Ozzy‘s official Facebook page below:
“I never wanted to discuss this in a public forum but Bill’s statements left me no option to but to respond honestly.
Wow Bill,
What the fuck are you on about? I cannot apologize for comments or opinions I may have made about you in the press during Sabbath’s “13” album and tour– physically, you knew you were fucked. Tony, Geezer and myself didn’t think you could have done a two hour set with a drum solo every night, so we made the decision to move on. With Tony’s condition we felt that time was not on our side.
Bill, stop this smokescreen about an “unsignable contract” and let’s be honest. Deep down inside you knew you weren’t capable of doing the album and a 16 month tour. Unfortunately for you, our instincts were correct as you were in hospital several times during 2013. Your last hospitalization was for a shoulder surgery that you now say you’ve only just recovered from. This would have meant that our world tour would have been canceled. So how is all of this my fault? Stop playing the victim and be honest with yourself and our fans.
Bill, we go back a long way, let’s stop this now before it gets out of hand.
