AGNOSTIC FRONT have recently released a full track by track commentary for every song on the band’s upcoming album, “The American Dream Died”. Find the piece written by the band’s iconic frontman, Roger Miret, below.
The American Dream Died: It’s a harsh look at what’s going on today in our society. The intro that precedes this song says it all! It’s a reaction to everything happening around us right now. The higher ups are out of control!
Police Violence: This is our reaction to what’s going on in our country regarding the unprovoked brutality of our citizens by those who we pay to “protect and serve” us. If they are going to act like criminals, then they should be prosecuted as one! They have some kind of elite fraternity-like understanding that they protect each other with. Don’t abuse your badge!
Only In America: It’s sad to learn that the people who serve in our military and risk their lives fighting in wars come home to the government not giving a shit about them, especially if those veterans were wounded mentally or physically. They gotta go through a lot of bullshit just to try and get a little help and support. You’ve gotta be blind if you don’t see that, only in America. This is why I strongly believe the US Government should stop policing the world, and start caring for the issues right here in the USA!
Test Of Time: Learning from the past is important, to help you move forward and not make the mistakes we did in our youth. Longevity is the key to success. We won’t get left behind.
We Walk The Line: It’s a statement of who we are and how we live in relation to the hardcore community.
Never Walk Alone: We always spoke about unity and how sticking together will help us grow as scene. Hardcore is worldwide now. This is our scene, our passion and it was great to present this song with honorable NYHC veteran’s Freddy Cricien (MADBALL), Toby Morse (H2O) and Lou Koller (SICK OF IT ALL) joining on the anthemy chorus!!! Punk rock/Hardcore is a movement it’s not an image!
Enough Is Enough: Protest song! I once read an inspiring quote that went like this “I hold it, that a little rebellion, now and then, is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical” – Thomas Jefferson.
I Can’t Relate: Dealing with different people you don’t like in different situations. Could be applied to a boss, ex girlfriend, someone who lives a completely opposite lifestyle, etc.
Old New York: New York City has lost its edge. It’s been stripped of its culture and over run by money. Making it hard for musicians and artist to live there. Now we’re surrounded by transplants and rich hipsters. Let’s face it, it’s not the NYC I once adored. That one is so well documented in one of my favorite movies Taxi Driver! Hence the intro, I Miss The Old New York.
Social Justice: Nothing is more disgusting than hearing about a grown man rapping a child. This song talks about a man who got caught in the act and was served street justice stabbed with knives from his head to his toes. Justice served!
Reasonable Doubt: Our whole lives we’ve been criminalized for one reason or another. But it’s actually the media, the corporations and the government who are the scumbags. Power to the people standing up against them. Wake the fuck up people!
No War Fuck You: Self explanatory, stop creating wars so you can justify your unlimited defense budget and make all your friends rich. Innocent people are dying for your stupid games.
Attack!: On some occasions people tend to disrespect and take our kindness for weakness. We have always been known for never taken shit from anyone. Cross the line and we will attack!
A Wise Man: Growing up in NYC living in and out of Vinnie’s apartment. Our old friend John always looked out for us like a father figure. He tried to guide us in the right direction and give us good advice. He was a wise man, a friend forever.
Just Like Yesterday: This song takes us on the journey through our history as a band, from touring all over the world and making friends that still remain loyal today. One of my favorite lines is “From NYC to the Berlin beat.” It shows our love for those two great cities and our great world accomplishments as a hardcore community.
“The American Dream Died”will contain the following tracks:
01. Intro
02. The American Died
03. Police Violence
04. Only In America

German thrash titans KREATOR, SODOM, DESTRUCTION and TANKARD, collectively known as THE BIG TEUTONIC 4, have released yet another prestigious 10″ vinyl record. After the huge success of the first release in early 2013, the second output contains rare cover versions of iconic NWOBHM classics.
The 10″ vinyl is available in various colors (black, clear, red, yellow) and is exclusively available from the Nuclear Blast Mailorder. The CD version is only available in issue #334 of German ROCK HARD Magazine (out February 25). Both can be purchased here http://smarturl.it/THE-BIG-TEUTONIC-4.
Find the cover artwork below/attached.
The tracklist reads as follows:
Side A: KREATOR – Lambs To The Slaughter (RAVEN cover) SODOM – Don’t Walk Away (TANK cover)
Side B: DESTRUCTION – Princess Of The Night (SAXON cover) TANKARD – Iron Maiden (IRON MAIDEN cover)
Commented THE BIG TEUTONIC 4:
Mille Petrozza, KREATOR: “As teenagers we were die hard fans of RAVEN. This song perfectly reflects the lifestyle back then and was the second cover version we recorded in a studio.”
Tom Angelripper, SODOM: “When TANK released The 12“ Single ‘Don`t Walk Away’ in 1981, it was the first time I got in touch with this awesome band and the title track is still one of my favorite songs. They inspired me to become a die hard metal fan until the rest of my life and keep my own band as a trio ensemble.”
Schmier, DESTRUCTION: “Shortly before we formed DESTRUCTION we were all together at a SAXON concert in Switzerland on their “Denim & Leather” tour. ‘Princess…’ always was on of my all time fave tracks from the british NWOBHM masters – this very unique riff was already the first step into speed metal, by that time we did not know how important this evening was – a night and a song that has definitely influenced us all the way!”
Gerre, TANKARD: “The first two MAIDEN albums are my personal favorites so it’s a real honor to me, that our version of ‘Iron Maiden’ will finally be available on vinyl. It was super fun to record and even Paul Di’Anno once said in an Crossfire interview with Rock Hard magazine that he liked our version. There couldn’t be any better accolade and we’re very exicted to see THE BIG TEUTONIC 4 continued.”
Australian one-of-a-kind thrash metal/grindcore/punk entity, KING PARROT have inked a deal with Agonia Records. Hailing from Melbourne, the band released their debut album “Bite Your Head Off” in 2012, which gained high praise for its stand-out musical performance layered with black humour and nowadays rare, yet unique creativity. KING PARROT’s upcoming new album was recorded by Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Down) in Nodferatu’s Lair Studio and is set to land this spring via: Agonia Records in Europe, Housecore Records in North America and Rocket/EVP in Australia.
On the new deal, the band commented: “Everyone at King Parrot is excited at the prospect of working with Agonia Records for Europe. We’ve heard nothing but excellent reports from other acts on their label and believe partnering with them in Europe will see us hit the territory more often. They believe in the band, and with this new album containing our best work to date, we want to spend a lot of time touring in Europe. We are currently undertaking our first Europe tour now, and getting a great response, so when this new album comes out we hope to be here a whole lot more! Bring it on!”
Emerging through the baptism of fire of the Australian metal scene, KING PARROT have pillaged their way to international recognition in a short period since 2011. Drawing influence primarily from the thrash, grind, hardcore and punk scenes of the 80’s and 90’s, a new sound was created fusing those styles and attitudes with a fresh approach that encapsulates their aggression, humour and intensity seamlessly.
The debut album “Bite Your Head Off” was picked up by Candlelight Records in 2013 for worldwide release. Five videos from their debut album have been produced including “Shit on the Liver”; a finalist in the Australian Music Video Awards and the bands take on the legendary horror film The Shining for the track “Dead End”.
After a solid 12 months on the road solidifying the bands presence in their homeland in 2013, KING PARROT were invited to perform at SXSW in Texas in March of 2014. They coupled this with an extensive 45-date North American tour, which saw them land a management deal with Extreme Management Group in New York. They’ve since under taken a further 3 North American tours alongside Down, Orange Goblin and Origin, as well as appearing at the Housecore Horrorfest in Austin, Texas.
Drawing praise from the likes of Phil Anselmo, Max Cavalera and Chuck Billy, it’s easy to see why KING PARROT is making a name for themselves. They’ve solidified themselves at the top of the heap of Australian metal bands after scoring spot on the 2015 Soundwave Festival line-up, and their first European tour is coming in March. With a sound and live performance they can uniquely call their own, KING PARROT are excited to deliver a new album in 2015 and take it to the next level.
KING PARROT has been on the road ever since the release of their debut and 2015 proves no different. Known to be a frenzied and furious live experience, the five-piece outfit is currently finishing their Metal Injection-sponsored 10-date live run with Weedeater in Europe. Shortly after, KING PARROT will revisit the US for a second leg of the tour.
