France’s STINKY – a metallic and at times melodic hardcore band – come back with a brand-new digital single “Down in the Dumps” from the group’s next album due at the end of the year. “Down in the Dumps” is currently available for streaming/download on all platforms, or watch the music video here:
After the catchy, pop-punk-tinged “Moonbow,” released last fall, the band reveals a new facet of their future album with “Down in the Dumps.” A darker track, with heavy rhythms and a subtle blend of violence and heady refrains.
“’Down in the Dumps’ deals with the throes of burnout and the long struggle to recover from it.With this new, more metal/modern hardcore-influenced track, the members of STINKY demonstrate their desire to explore new horizons, and promise a varied and ever more melodic album,” states drummer Paul.
Both “Moonbow” and “Down in the Dumps” come from the quintet’s fourth album, ‘Solace’to be released in late 2024. Outside of the two-song digital EP ‘Resolve’ released in 2022, inspired and created during the pandemic, it’s been four years since STINKY released their full-length ‘Of Lost Things,’ praised by Outburn for its “solid melodic hardcore/punk that employs notes of Sick Of It All, Parkway Drive and Comeback Kid” while the UK’s Down For Life magazine praised it for its “monstrous anthems and full-on bangers.”
Since the core of drummer Paul and vocalist Clair have recruited 3 new members – Max on bass and Enzo and Clément on guitars but STINKY remain true to their original mission and sound while expanding the palette created. The group has been active playing shows all over France, including key festivals like Hellfest, Omega Sound Fest, Brut’fier, SidFest, WeMetal Fest, and Nantes Metal Fest as well as getting over to the UK for Manchester Punk Festival, alongside Hot Water Music, A Wilhelm Scream and Tsunami Bomb.
Since their formation a decade ago, STINKY has played more than 350 concerts across 15 different countries in support of their first three albums, 2015’s ‘Against Wind and Tide,’ 2017’s ‘From Dead-End Street,’ and 2020’s ‘Of Lost Things.’ While the band’s name might seem curious to some, their music – a combustible mix of energy and aggression that the UK’s Midlands Metalheads Radio says “makes you feel like you can headbutt through a brick wall” – unquestionably passes the test.
More new music and information from ‘Solace’ will be released in the months leading up to its release.

South Africa’s emerging metal powerhouse, Diverted Disorder, is thrilled to announce the release of their latest single, Serpent Queen. This explosive track is a precursor to their highly anticipated second album set to drop in the near future.
Formed officially in November 2022, Diverted Disorder has quickly become a force to be reckoned with in the metal scene. The band’s journey began with frontman Hardman Mills rediscovering his musical fervour, leading to a solo venture in his home studio. In collaboration with Jared Gunston in January 2021, Diverted Disorder was born, blending thrash metal with blues, death metal, and core elements to create a sound that defies conventional genres.
The evolution from a solo project to a full-fledged four-piece band in August 2022 marked a significant milestone. Their inaugural live performance on November 26, 2022, showcased the band’s unwavering dedication and passion.
Frontman Hardman Mills describes the inspiration behind “Serpent Queen”: “Pure anger… Lol.” The track’s message is a powerful reminder: “Don’t treat others like they are beneath you.” Mills elaborates on the approach taken to writing the song, saying, “I wanted to display as much anger as possible and make the track heavy as hell. I believe we have achieved that.”
The recording process was an intense and deeply personal experience for the band. “We recorded, mixed, and mastered it ourselves. Super proud of the team for all the hard work. So much more to come. We tend to work when we feel inspired; otherwise, music becomes production and then it loses its soul,” says Mills.
In just five words, Mills captures the essence of “Serpent Queen”: “Check out the brutal breakdown! 😝”
Their debut album, “Technical Difficulties,” released in November 2022, received acclaim for its raw exploration of personal and societal struggles. This album highlighted the band’s resilience and creativity, turning recording challenges into integral elements of their sound.
Looking ahead, Diverted Disorder is gearing up an upcoming UK tour in August which promises to expand their reach and influence, allowing them to connect directly with a growing fanbase.
Diverted Disorder’s thematic explorations continue to delve into personal struggles, societal challenges, and human experience, adding profound depth to their music.
Metalitalia has announced the complete line-up for the main musical programme of the 2024 edition of the festival, scheduled for Saturday, September 14th and Sunday, September 15th, 2024, once again at the Live Music Club in Trezzo sull’Adda (Milan), Italy!
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14th, 2024
Leading the lineup on Saturday, September 14th, we are pleased to host the mighty OVERKILL: it’s not the first time we host a legendary name of the thrash metal scene at our festival, but we are particularly proud to welcome Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth and D.D. Verni’s band, as they have always boasted a loyal audience in Italy and a discography that, after the great classics of the 80s and early 90s, has regained momentum in recent times with a series of remarkable albums. The US band will perform their only Italian show of 2024 at our festival.
It’s with great pleasure that we also announce the return of DESTRUCTION to the stage of the Metalitalia Festival! As many of you know, the German thrash metal band led by Schmier is experiencing a second youth with the new four-piece lineup, being in a position to reinterpret all the classics of their vast discography with a tightness and power rarely seen before.
Also confirmed for Saturday are MORBID SAINT! We’re talking about a true cult name in our scene, recently back with the new album “Swallowed by Hell”, but, of course, known especially for the masterpiece “Spectrum of Death” (1990), one of the greatest examples of thrash-death metal.
It is now our tradition to bring to Italy bands that are not often seen or have never even played in our country. Having said that, we are proud to announce an exclusive show by British thrashers XENTRIX, who have recently been busy celebrating the thirty-fifth anniversary of the release of their debut album “Shattered Existence”.
Among the confirmations for the first day, we are also very happy to welcome CRIPPLE BASTARDS, a true legend of the local extreme scene, as well as one of the most influential grindcore bands of all time. Already among the highlights of the warm-up show of the 2018 edition, Giulio and his companions will certainly play one of the most brutal performances of the day.
Another important confirmation in the thrash metal field is ANGELUS APATRIDA, an inspiring Spanish band that has been setting European stages on fire for years. The band will support their latest album “Aftermath”, released at the end of last year for Century Media Records.
To complete Saturday’s billboard, the Piedmontese thrashers URAL, an act that many fans of the genre are getting to know, thanks to a series of increasingly convincing releases, and the Lombard death metallers HUSQWARNAH, whose rough old school sounds will have the task of warming up the audience shortly after the doors.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 15th, 2024
Headlining Sunday, September 15th, will be the masters of horror metal, DEATH SS, who will return to the stage of our festival with a very special show that has no equal in their history so far!
To introduce it, we’ll let the lider maximo Steve Sylvester speak:
“Our concert at the next Metalitalia Festival will consist of a first part where the current fantastic lineup will offer a best of our most famous songs and then a second part that will see the lineup that recorded the debut album ‘In DEATH of Steve Sylvester’ in 1988, which will be performed live after 35 years in its entirety. A unique opportunity not to be missed!”.
It is a true pleasure for us to host such a special show and to take a journey back in time with the band to rediscover the album that launched their famous career.
Equally amazing is the confirmation of CIRITH UNGOL, a legendary band in the entire epic heavy/doom metal scene. Always in demand in Italy, we are proud to offer our audience such a piece of metal history for a show that will be one of the last of the group’s career. Recently, the band has declared that 2024 will be the last year in which CIRITH UNGOL will perform live. Needless to say, their Italian descent will be one of the events of the year for all fans!
Now, we are really excited to announce the confirmation of WARLORD, another legendary epic metal band from the USA. Now back with the new album “Free Spirit Soar”, the band now led by Mark Zonder will pay homage to the late leader William J. Tsamis, who passed away three years ago, with a special show that will cover all the old classics of their glorious discography.
We are also truly proud to welcome SATAN! Among the pioneers of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal with the magnificent debut album “Court in the Act” (1983), the Newcastle band is experiencing an exciting second part of their career, with records such as “Cruel Magic” and the recent “Earth Infernal” which marked a return to the quality of the past, bringing the name SATAN back into the spotlight.
We are also glad to welcome NIGHT DEMON, one of the most vital acts of the contemporary epic/classic heavy metal scene. The band will promote their recent effort “Outsider”, but there will certainly be no shortage of hits from the previous works.
To complete this day’s line-up, we’re happy to welcome California’s HAUNT – one of the most active acts of the so-called New Wave Of Traditional Heavy Metal – and their compatriots HELL FIRE, known for their dynamic mixture of speed and classic metal.
Stay tuned as many other details, including the times of the free meet & greets with all the artists, the metal market, other information on the Metalitalia Ink tattoo convention and new surprises will be announced in the coming weeks!

We are driven to think and write about those moments when we get serious, remember anecdotes or just listen and sing along to the music that brings us together with a glass in our hand and a good friend in front of us. We want playing our music to be fun, to have a good time and to be enjoyed among friends….”

Two years of work, composing, arranging, recording, editing, deleting, and so on. We went through all kinds of emotions, from euphoria to agony. Each song was carefully polished to achieve its current form. On the album, everyone added their touch, both Hrvoje and I, in terms of lyrics, music, and production, all ennobled by the powerful vocals of our legend, Paul Di’Anno.”

About Paul Di’Anno’s Warhorse:
The core of the band and founders are Paul Di’Anno, vocals, Hrvoje Madiraca, guitar and Ante Pupačić Pupi, guitar.
Paul Andrews, a British singer better known by his stage name Paul Di’Anno, his nearly half-century-long career began explosively with Iron Maiden, when with the EP ‘The Soundhouse Tapes’, and the albums ‘Iron Maiden’ and ‘Killers ‘ forever cemented the foundations of heavy metal. With timeless hits like ‘Iron Maiden’, ‘Remember Tomorrow’, ‘Running Free’, ‘Phantom of the Opera’, ‘Killers’, ‘Wratchild’, Murders in the Rue Morgue’, ‘Purgatory’ etc., they influenced numerous musicians and bands and were responsible for the creation or development of many subgenres in metal music.
Paul is known as one of the most productive singers, who has a huge number of albums and other releases behind him, either as a solo artist or a member of bands such as Gogmagog, Di’Anno’s Battlezone, Praying Mantis, Killers, Rockfellas, Architects of Chaoz or Warhorse. In all his incarnations, Paul always knew how to find a way to the fans, with numerous hits, uncompromising singing, which is confirmed by his successful career and furious live shows around the world.
For the last eight years, Paul faced serious health problems that almost ended his career, but thanks to his loyal fans, friends, Iron Maiden and his strong will to overcome the disease, Paul is on a big world tour again, and he recorded a new album with the Paul D’Anno’s Warhorse band, which will be released in mid-2024 for BraveWords Records, a new label, which is also an integral part of one of the most strongest brands in heavy metal music.
This icon of heavy metal with the heart of a punk rock rebel never spared himself in his life, but he always gave everything for music and fans, which is why they have followed him faithfully for almost fifty years.
Warhorse is the original band/project of Paul Di’Anno. The first idea of forming a band arose in December 2021, when Paul and guitarist Hrvoje Madiraca met in Zagreb, Croatia. The formation and naming of this project happened simultaneously with the writing and recording of new songs, which were started immediately after Paul and Hrvoje joined hands and thus formed the band. Warhorse independently released the DVD single ‘Stop the War’ in a limited edition of 666 copies and sold it out in just a few days. This was followed by the fantastic ‘Stop the War’ lyrics video, which delighted fans around the world. The Warhorse project gathered fantastic guest musicians on some songs, and a video will be filmed for almost every song on the album. The core of the band itself is the three ‘horsemen’ Paul Di’Anno – vocals, Hrvoje Madiraca – guitars and Ante Pupačić Pupi – Guitars. Fans at Warhorse live shows can expect a live explosion, musical virtuosos and a top stage attraction. Paul Di’Anno in the stadium edition, would be the most appropriate description. Warhorse is a parallel band to his classic ‘Paul Di’Anno’ line-up and unlike his standard set list, Warhorse concerts will abound with Warhorse songs, with the addition of Iron Maiden classics and special, unexpected covers chosen by Paul Di’Anno.
