North Carolina trad-metal/doom rockers DOGBANE have released a video for the song ‘Ride the Serpent,’ taken off the band’s 2011 debut, Residual Alcatraz. “Residual Alcatraz” was released in December of 2011 on Heaven and Hell Records. The album is available for streaming and purchase at www.dogbaneband.com and www.soundsofpurgatory.com.

Chase Manhattan and Matt Price of Los Angeles-based stoner/doom outfit BEHOLD! THE MONOLITH have issued the following statement on the tragic loss of singer/bassist Kevin McDade:
“We are deeply saddened to report the loss of our band member, friend and brother Kevin McDade in a car accident early Friday evening. Needless to say we are absolutely devastated by this. Our hearts and thoughts go out to his parents, family and girlfriend. Thanks for the time we had and the music we made together. We will, and already do, miss you terribly. -Chase and Matt”
Kevin McDade died as a result of an auto accident on Friday, June 21st. He was 29 years old.

The live songs featured on this album were recorded at special anniversary shows in Greece as well as all over Europe during the band’s “Few Against Many” tour in 2012 and comes with a playing time of 69 minutes, featuring a great overview of the band’s 7-albums spanning career so far as well as quite a different track-listing than 2008’s “Live Premonition” release. “Apotheosis – Live 2012” also marks the final FIREWIND release with longterm singer Apollo Papathanasio, who left the band by the end of last year. He has ever since been be replaced by Kelly SundownCarpenter (Adagio, Beyond Twilight) as session front man for all 2013 live-activities. VH1’s That Metal Show recently presented a show which showmen Eddie Trunk, Jim Florentine and Don Jamieson debated what they think are the best comeback albums in hard rock and heavy metal history. They also asked the same questions from their viewers on VH1.com.
That programme made us at Metal Shock Finland think about this question; “What Was The Most Shocking Comeback Album In Heavy Metal History?” So we returned to our basement and asked our staff.
