Anglo-Swedish modern metal powerhouse SONIC SYNDICATE have released the official music video for the second single, ‘Before You Finally Break’,off the band’s upcoming self-titled, fifth album. The clip was shot by renowned director Patric Ullaeus (IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, CHILDREN OF BODOM, uvm) and features SOILWORK singer Björn ‘Speed’ Strid on guest vocals.
Commented singer Nathan James Biggs: „I’m honored to call Speed a friend. I’ve been a big SOILWORK fan for years. Those guys were a massive hand in crafting that trademark Swedish sound so it made perfect sense to ask Speed when we knew we wanted to do a song with guest vocals. Performance wise I think we have similar styles and execution, but at the same time we both have our own thing going on so the voices compliment each other to great effect. My idea was also to have a real battle between our vocals. I hate it when you have these “featuring” songs and the guest just pops up for a chorus and then does backing vocals for a while in the verse or something. This is a real fight between us for the mic and I’m sure people are gonna appreciate that.“
Bjorn “Speed” Strid adds:
“Working with Sonic Syndicate is always a pleasure, whether it’s in the studio, tour, or in a cool looking abandoned car shop in the industrial area of Gothenburg. I loved recording vocals on this song and especially being able to do somewhat of a duet with Nathan Biggs. He’s a truly talented singer and a good friend. Doing the video was easy, fun and pretty intense at the same time. It turned out real sick.. Check it out!”
The album will include a total of 11 tracks while the limited edition digipak will feature no less than 3 bonus tracks on top.
»Sonic Syndicate« tracklist:
01. Day Of The Dead
02. Black Hole Halo
03. Long Road Home

ACCEPT is one of the most influential bands from the German heavy metal scene. Their mark on the industry is remarkable, like a shining star in the dark sky of the night. Like the other band they have had their up and down moments, but May 2009 was absolutely different. It was a highlight in their career when they rose to ” Make the ‘Metal Heart’ beat again.“
The new line up announcement was not a shock though, as everybody was expecting a change in the front man section. But Mark Tornillo was not a very well known name in the industry. The fans and critics who didn’t know Mark, started tracking his work in TT QUICK to find some clues to how ACCEPT ‘s new music would be. “Blood Of The Nations” ended all the speculation and rumours in August 2010. Mark ‘s performance was such a great one that most people didn’t feel the lack of the legendary Udo Dirkschneider, some fans and critics stated “It’s even better …”
Mark Tornillo proved to the metal universe that he deserves to front the mighty ACCEPT, who are back to remind us that the ‘Metal Heart’ is unstoppable eternally.
Metal Shock Finland appreciate what Mark and ACCEPT did and do in the heavy metal industry, so here our Birthday messages to Mark and it’s the least we could do.
Chief Editor Mohsen Fayyazi:
“I cannot imagine the Heavy Metal world without ACCEPT, nor ACCEPT without Mark now! You whispered life into our metal hearts again, Bravo Mark! Happy Birthday to you and I wish you all the best and METAL from the bottom of my heart. Cheers!!!“
Senior Manager Ali Blackdiamond:
“ACCEPT will always have a special place in my heart, they are one of my all time favourite bands. The new era with Mark as vocalist is a very exciting one and they thoroughly deserve their esteemed position in metal history. I can’t wait for “Blind Rage” and would like to wish Mark a very Happy Metal Birthday with many more to come! Cheers and best wishes. 🙂 ”
Teresa Hopkins:
“Mark Tornillo was vital to one of the most serendipitous moments in Metal history: the rebirth of ACCEPT! But it was more than just a band reforming and making new albums. ACCEPT was the true Phoenix, rising from the ashes of what we thought would be no more, to burn brighter and stronger than ever. I am truly happy for him, the band, and the fans–we have the privilege of enjoying some of the best music around and once again they are living the dream. Mark is one of the nicest, coolest, most humble guys around–he’s the real deal and I can’t think of anyone more worthy of celebration today. A very happy 60th Birthday is wished for Mark Tornillo–and every blessing hereafter!”
German metallers EQUILIBRIUM have announced unexpectedly the leaving of founding members Sandra Van Eldik (bass) and Andreas Völkl (guitar) on March. Now, the band introduce Jen Majura as the new bass player.
The band states:
“Since today EQUILIBRIUM are complete again! The position on the bass guitar will be filled with Jen Majura, perhaps some of you may know her from Knorkator. We are very proud to have found such an excellent musician and the rehearsal room is allready full of energie! So, say hello to Jen and welcome her with us in the big Equi-family! Welcome aboard Jen!“
ARCH ENEMY will release their upcoming album, “War Eternal”, this June via Century Media Records. The band has recently launched the second part of the Track By Track video with Michael Amott (guitar) and new vocalist Alissa White-Gluz. The video can be seen below:
Previously ARCH ENEMY posted the first part of this Track By Track on Youtube, which can be seen below:
The band’s new vocalist Alissa White-Gluz jumped so hard on stage that she broke her riser into pieces, resulting in a broken rib when she fell during one of the band’s first 10 shows. She explained in an online posting: “Anyone at that show who saw me body slam through the fucking riser could imagine there would be some damage. But I’m a stubborn fuck and I waited a few shows before going to get x-rays, ultrasounds and blood tests. The damage to my head, arms and legs is just bad bruising, there is no apparent organ damage and no internal bleeding. Unfortunately, there is a compound break on one rib and severe bruising around several others. Good news is that the pieces of the rib are well aligned to heal back in place!” She added: “The doctor forbade me to continue playing shows… But cancelling shows would hurt way worse.”

Jon Dette will fill in for drummer Charlie Benante on the first few weeks of ANTHRAX’s 29-city European tour that kicked off May 27, in Barcelona, Spain and runs until July 12 in Balingen, Germany. Benante, who had surgery on his hand last summer and has been going for regular physical therapy up until just recently, thought he’d be back to 100% for the Carolina Rebellion and Beale Street Music Festival shows that ANTHRAX also did earlier this month.
“Playing those shows, I realized I’m just not quite there yet,” Charlie said, “especially for the schedule ANTHRAX has on these European dates. I’m hoping to join the tour for the last couple of weeks, but until then, we all appreciate that Jon can sit in for me.”
Benante plans to be drumming on ANTHRAX’s handful of North American dates later this summer that include Heavy MTL in Montreal and the MOTÖRHEAD Motorboat Cruise set for late September with MOTÖRHEAD, MEGADETH, Zakk Wylde and others. Following these dates, ANTHRAX will enter the studio to write and record their follow up to 2011’s Grammy-nominated “Worship Music”, named “Metal Album of the Year” by fans and in media outlets across the globe.
