Gold selling rock band SONIC SYNDICATE recently released their most daring album yet. The new album “Confessions” has turned out to be a success, but it has also brought light upon the discussion about artistic freedom since the band has chosen to leave the hardest of their old metal sound behind. When creating the new album the members of the band took a deeper look into themselves and SONIC SYNDICATE lets the listener take part of their vulnerability through total uncompromising honesty in their songwriting and new rock sound.
“We’re dropping any pretension, stereotypes and expectations and we’re left with honesty, creativity and love for music by a band that is not afraid of anything. Finally we can stand up and say we have our own sound. I think this album is going to open some doors and slam others, make waves and make noise. “//Sonic Syndicate
Now SONIC SYNDICATE has a new single coming where the Venezuelan keyboardist, DJ, composer, producer and remixer Zardonic has made a remix of the song “Start A War”. Zardonic is primarily known for his heavy electronic dance music. He is dubbed as Venezuela’s top DJ act with releases peaking at #1 in Beatport’s Drum & Bass releases of the week and Amazon’s Hard Rock & Metal Bestsellers. He also has one of the Top 10 best DJ masks in the world and is featured in the game “Warlocks Vs Shadows”, making him the first Latin American musician to be ever featured as a playable character in a video game.
Zardonic has previously been working with Despotz Records and has made sucessfull remixes of songs from Unguided and Nightrage.
With the remix of “Start A War” Zardonic has brought the song to a whole different level and genre. The original song has turned out to be the most played single from the new album.
“The meaning behind “Start A War” is that we’re not going anywhere, we’re breaking out now. But it’s more than that. This is a personal message to anyone who has dared to dream and just needs that extra push which could inspire them to change their lives. It’s time to start a war!” // Sonic Syndicate
Since 2005, SONIC SYNDICATE has been pounding away at the international music scene touring Europe, North America and Asia. The new album is to be released October 14th 2016 on Despotz Records, followed by the Maximalism European tour with Amaranthe and Smash Into Pieces. The band describes their new coming album “Confessions” as a new start for SONIC SYNDICATE.
“We have CONFESSIONS to get out to the world: On October 14th we will release our brand new album CONFESSIONS and we can not think of a better way of doing it than to celebrate with our fans.
With that said, we’re excited to officially reveal that we’ll be hitting the road with Amaranthe across Europe in October / November. Amaranthe has a similar relationship to their fans, and we know that this is going to be one of the most heartfelt and intimate tours ever. Opening band, Smash Into Pieces also brings their own style. Musically we complement each other to the point that the whole evening with all shows will be an adventure for the crowd. This isn’t only going to be memorable, people will say this is how all tours should be.” /Sonic Syndicate
Vocalist Nathan J Biggs comments: “As you could imagine we are super excited to be signing to Despotz Records based here in Stockholm, Sweden, we couldn’t imagine a better place to call home. When the possibility of us working together first came up with this modern, creative & forward thinking team we pretty much had our mind set that this was where we belong. This is an exciting new chapter for both Sonic Syndicate and Despotz.”
In late June, 2016 the band entered Purple Skull Music to record their new album “CONFESSIONS” with producer Kritoffer Folin, the new album is set to be the bands most diverse and unique work to date.
Anglo-Swedish modern metal powerhouse SONIC SYNDICATE have announced the departure of long-time bass player, Karin Axelsson.
Commented Axelsson:
“Dear friends, As most of you know by now I haven’t been touring with my boys in SONIC for a while. SONIC SYNDICATE has been my family and my life for many years and I’ve met so many great people and experienced things I never thought I would.
I’ve had the time of my life, so many of my dreams have come true in so many ways but sometimes you have to make hard choices in life and it’s time for me to move on because I am in a place where I need to focus on my family and private life, I hope you understand my decision. I would like to thank all you guys who came out to our shows, for your endless love and support, it has meant so much to me and the guys that we could never express in words how we feel.
Before I officially go and start my new life I’d like to ask you one more thing. Please take care of the boys, my brothers, because I love them with all of my heart and although we’ll keep contact and see each other from time to time I will truly miss them and the music we’ve made together. So, with everything above said and done, I would like to officially introduce Miche to the SONIC SYNDICATE family. What I ask from you guys is to please open your hearts for this great guy who’s an awesome bass player and give him a warm welcome.
With all my love” – Karin
Accompanying the introduction of new bass player, Miche Bärzén, the band premieres the official music video for ‘Diabolical Work Of Art’. The song comes off the band’s latest record, “Sonic Syndicate”, on Nuclear Blast.

Commented the band: “People pretend to be something they’re not. That’s what makes the world go ’round. I’m willing to bet every single person that reads this has had a person come into their lives who was either drop-dead beautiful, someone they looked up to, or someone that promised the world. Only to be revealed as an ugly deceiving cunt.
The lyrics tackle this head-on. I know who I’m talking about, but to you it could be a relationship, a job, a best friend or whatever. The point being, I would rather people just wore their real skin rather than hiding behind a mask.
However, with the video we wanted to show this in an abstract way. I’ve seen too many videos with cheesy effects and violence. We wanted to show pristine, sheer beauty. How immaculate on the outside doesn’t mean pure on the inside. How how society and people, however well hidden, have a darkness inside that sooner or later finds its way out.”

The band’s brand new self-titled album has hit the official album charts in Germany and Austria.
Germany: #36
Austria: #74
Commented the band: “The most important thing is that this album is for us and our fans. To get recognition that it’s doing well in the charts worldwide is the icing on the cake. We thank everyone out there who supports Sonic Syndicate by legally buying our new ‘Self-Titled’ release. You rock!”
Recently the official music video for the second single, ‘Before You Finally Break’, has been released. The clip was shot by renowned director Patric Ullaeus (IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, CHILDREN OF BODOM, etc) and features SOILWORK singer Björn ‘Speed’ Strid on guest vocals.
A exclusive Making Of has been made available here:
Commented singer Nathan James Biggs: „I’m honored to call Speed a friend. I’ve been a big SOILWORK fan for years. Those guys were a massive hand in crafting that trademark Swedish sound so it made perfect sense to ask Speed when we knew we wanted to do a song with guest vocals. Performance wise I think we have similar styles and execution, but at the same time we both have our own thing going on so the voices compliment each other to great effect. My idea was also to have a real battle between our vocals. I hate it when you have these “featuring” songs and the guest just pops up for a chorus and then does backing vocals for a while in the verse or something. This is a real fight between us for the mic and I’m sure people are gonna appreciate that.“
Bjorn “Speed” Strid adds: “Working with Sonic Syndicate is always a pleasure, whether it’s in the studio, tour, or in a cool looking abandoned car shop in the industrial area of Gothenburg. I loved recording vocals on this song and especially being able to do somewhat of a duet with Nathan Biggs. He’s a truly talented singer and a good friend. Doing the video was easy, fun and pretty intense at the same time. It turned out real sick.. Check it out!”
Commented guitarist, main songwriter and founding member, Robin Sjunnesson: “We decided to go with this one as a “Self-Titled” release. Mainly because as an album we have put everything we’ve got into it. All of our experience as musicians, the evolution of the music, the sound from all eras of the band, and also the road we have taken as people. This is us, this is Sonic Syndicate in all its beauty and destruction. It shows our strength, our love for melody, our scars, our energy. The cover art is a definite representation of that. In the background, a battle-torn city laid to waste, four figures emerging together with only each other to depend on in an environment so harsh, only those with a tough heart, body and soul can survive. The tone throughout this album is definitely darker, and as my Swedish family would say “With a red-line running in the middle” so we put this into the colour-scheme. We could not be more proud of this album, and we thank our fans for the support, it’s because of them that we’re here. This album is for you.”
