Thrash metal titans Bastard Skull are back with the lyric video for “After The Plague”, a highlight from their self-titled debut album via Wormholedeath.
A scorched vision of humanity’s downfall. After the Plague tears through a post-apocalyptic wasteland, where corruption, madness, and deceit outlive the disease itself. Brutal, bitter, and unflinchingly real — this is thrash metal at its most unforgiving.
Formed on November 13, 2022, at a Mercyful Fate show in Brooklyn, NY, Bastard Skull emerged when John Blicharz (Annuanki, Blood Feast, Dusk) reconnected with Tom Lorenzo (Blood Feast, Without End). Joined by Mark Mari (Sneak Attack) on drums and George Kostadimas on bass, Tom stepped up as the band’s vocalist for the first time. Drawing on years of metal experience and raw energy, Bastard Skull quickly honed a ferocious sound. Their debut album, recorded with Mike Sabatini (Attacker) at Band Mother Recording and mastered by Alan Douches (Nile, Dying Fetus, Obituary), delivers unrelenting thrash metal power that fans have been waiting for.

Italian doom metal outfit Shores of Null have released their new single “An Easy Way,” a devastatingly poignant track that opens their upcoming split album “Latitudes of Sorrow” with Finnish funeral doom masters Convocation. The split arrives on November 21st via Everlasting Spew Records. “An Easy Way” was chosen for its immediacy and emotional impact, a rare blend of haunting darkness and melodic catchiness. Lyrically, it confronts depression, inner struggle, and the fragile line between perseverance and surrender. It’s a reflection on human frailty, wrapped in a soundscape that’s both oppressive and unforgettable. “It’s the most straightforward track on the split. Catchy, yes, but it leaves very little room for hope,” says the band. The split album “Latitudes of Sorrow” is a collaboration born from shared artistic vision. When Everlasting Spew Records approached Shores of Null mid-way through writing their next full-length, the band seized the opportunity to finish and record three exclusive tracks that might have otherwise remained in the shadows. The result is a darker, more hopeless sonic offering, a perfect complement to Convocation’s funeral doom intensity. “Two sides of the same coin. Opposite latitudes, but a shared desire to explore sorrow in all its forms,” the band explains.
The album’s artwork, created by LL of Convocation, features a spectral figure and an empty chair, a haunting symbol of presence in absence. Musically and lyrically, Latitudes of Sorrow is a journey through grief, solitude, and the inescapable weight of mortality. For fans of Katatonia, Paradise Lost, Evoken, and Esoteric, “Latitudes of Sorrow” offers one of the most grievous and heavy splits in recent memory, a sonic reckoning that will finally make all your summers end.
“An Easy Way” is streaming now on all major platforms. “Latitudes of Sorrow” drops digitally and on CD and Cassette physical format on November 21st via Everlasting Spew Records. The vinyl edition of the split will be issued in Spring 2026.
Track Listing: 1. Shores Of Null – An Easy Way 2. Shores Of Null – The White Wound 3. Shores Of Null – The Year Without Summer 4. Convocation – Abaddon’s Shadow 5. Convocation – Empty Room
On November 7, 2025, Brazilian thrash metal icons THE MIST will unleash their first full-length studio album in three decades: The Dark Side Of The Soul (An Anatomy Of The Soul), slated for a release via Alma Mater Records, the Portuguese label founded by MOONSPELL frontman Fernando Ribeiro. Pre-save the album now at: https://themist.bfan.link/the-dark-side-of-the-soul
Following the previously-released first single, “(Brain) – Geppetto’s Song”, now, THE MIST unleashes their crushing album opener “The Curse Of Life”. Raw, relentless, and fueled by razor-sharp riffs, this track hits like a sledgehammer to the gut. It’s pure, unfiltered thrash the way it’s meant to be: fast, furious, raw and dangerously tight. For fans of the genre, this one’s not optional: “The Curse Of Life” is an essential listen that proves THE MIST are still masters of their craft!
Exactly 30 years after their last full-length Gottverlassen, Vladimir Korg once again leads THE MIST into new territory with a concept album divided into three acts. Musically, the album is pure, unrelenting thrash: lightning-fast riffs, punishing rhythms, furious vocals, and lyrics dripping with rage and allegory – the perfect soundtrack for vengeance.
Produced by André Damien, mixed and mastered by acclaimed producer Tue Madsen (Halford, Meshuggah, Moonspell), and featuring cover art by Michael Whelan, The Dark Side Of The Soul stands as THE MIST’s most ambitious work to date.
Formed in 1989 from the ashes of MAYHEM and fronted by ex-CHAKAL vocalist Vladimir Korg, THE MIST quickly carved out their place in the Brazilian metal underground. Their debut Phantasmagoria (1989) introduced a furious thrash sound infused with heavy metal roots, while their dark, conceptual second album The Hangman Tree (1991) became an underground classic.
The band went on to experiment with industrial elements on Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust (1993) and closed their first era with Gottverlassen (1995). After splitting up, THE MIST reemerged in 2018, reigniting their legacy with The Scarecrow Tour featuring Jairo Guedz of The Troops Of Doom, and in 2021 released the acclaimed comeback EP The Circle of the Crow.
Now, in 2025, THE MIST are fully back with The Dark Side Of The Soul (An Anatomy Of The Soul), ready to reclaim their place among the titans of thrash!

Reunion Island’s thrash metal power trio Lomor strike back with “Panzram”, the first single from their upcoming second album “Sabouk Rouge” due for release in February 2026.
Named after the infamous early 20th-century serial killer Carl Panzram, the track dives into the origins of hatred and human cruelty. With relentless riffing, ferocious vocals and unfiltered energy, “Panzram” captures the violent essence of Lomor’s sound — a visceral blend of old-school thrash, punk and hardcore aggression that channels the rage of Slayer, Kreator and Rotten Sound into a raw and personal statement.
Recorded and mixed by Sébastien Camhi (Art Music Studio, France) and mastered by Kai Stahlenberg (Kohlekeller Studio, Germany), the single marks the beginning of a new chapter for the band. The production is heavier and more precise than ever while keeping Lomor’s trademark live feel and rebellious edge intact.
Formed on Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean, Lomor was founded by Eric Castelnau (vocals, guitars) joined by Gurvan Cambrai (drums) and Mathieu “Micha” Michalina (bass). Known for their explosive performances and Creole-infused lyrics, the band has already made waves across France and beyond with their debut album “Perseverance of Sickness” (2022) and the Kanyar Tour (2023) which included shows with Akiavel and Mass Hysteria.
With “Panzram”, Lomor reaffirm their old-school ethos with no backing tracks and no compromise, just adrenaline-fueled thrash from the edge of the world.

Finnish progressive metal band Humming Whale has released the second single “The Wake” fromtheir upcoming debut studio album “Chasing Rabbits” to be released in November 2025.
The band’s guitarist Lassi describes the song: “You are standing alone in a dark forest. The shadows cast by the trees move slowly around you. The battery of your flashlight is slowly running out. Your instinct says “Run!”. In writing The Wake we were inspired by the captivating stories and the unique atmosphere in the world of Alan Wake.”
–Lyrics by Lassi Paunonen –Music by Lassi Paunonen, Aki Hahto, Ville Kiiveri, and Antti Lumijärvi –Record label: Whale Records (self-published) –Produced by Lassi Paunonen and Ville Kiiveri –Recorded at Sycamore Studios by Lassi Paunonen –Mixed by Jussi Kulomaa –Mastered by Jaakko Viitalähde at Virtalähde Mastering
The story of Humming Whale begun in 2006 in Tampere, Finland. Lassi Paunonen and Ville Kiiveri had already been friends for a long time, and had also been playing together in various bands. Their musical backgrounds steered the new band towards metal, but due to their broad tastes the band was from the beginning open to influences from a wide variety of genres. They especially embraced progressive elements in the form of nonlinear song structures and rhythmic experiments. Over the years, the band absorbed more and more influences from analogue synthesis and acoustic percussions, and their current sound begun to take form.
The band reached its first stable line-up in 2015 with Aki Hahto in vocals and Antti Lumijärvi in drums. The band begun to record its first full album in late 2016 based on the songs they had composed over the years. The recording took place in Lassi’s studio and the band took their time in shaping (and even rewriting) the songs. The process finally resulted in the album Chasing Rabbits, published in November 2025.
At the end of the year 2023 the band also arrived at their current line-up, with Matias Kuure in drums.
Members: Aki Hahto – Vocals and percussion Lassi Paunonen – Guitar and synthesizers Ville Kiiveri – Bass Matias Kuure – Drums
