Metal Blade Records is pleased to welcome Pennsylvania deathcore behemoths THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE to its esteemed roster.

THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE was forged in 2010. Within a year, they were touring regularly and had self-released their debut album, Know Your Exits. By 2013, independent metal label Density Records unleashed their second album, Invivo [Exvivo]. Further touring ensued with the likes of I Declare War, Fit For An Autopsy, Thy Art Is Murder, and Kublai Khan. The prolific act would go on to release five more full-lengths, each earning Billboard chart placements and reaping critical accolades both stateside and abroad. Of the band’s most recent output, 2024’s No Name Graves (Unique Leader Records), Knotfest wrote, “THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE are reasserting their position as innovators and leaders in the deathcore genre. Their approach to music is not just about creating sound but about crafting an experience that challenges and captivates their audience.” New Transcendence concurred, “With moments defined by a low, moody atmosphere carefully peppered with punishing aggression and moments that are outright raunchy, ruthless oblivion, No Name Graves is a cinematic, crushing experience that redefines THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE, making it clear that lightning can strike the same place (or same band) twice.” Added No Clean Singing, “At its gnarliest and nastiest – as epitomised by the likes of the brutish, bone-grinding title-track and the apocalyptically heavy ‘Broken Glass Incantation’ – there’s a there’s a primal intensity and potent, primitive nihilism to these tracks which recalls the likes of Black Tongue, latter-day Acranius, and even the more post-deathcore leaning approach of Humanity’s Last Breath, but stripped down even further until only the barest and most unforgiving essentials remain.”

Comments the band on their signing, “We are beyond excited to announce that we have signed with the legendary Metal Blade Records. It is an honor to be on the same roster as such iconic acts past and present. Shout out to Ryan Williams and the rest of the Metal Blade team for giving us the opportunity to riff.”

THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE have done nearly fifty tours since 2011 and are currently supporting Distant and Enterprise Earthon their EU/UK co-headlining run. The Origin Of Madness Tour commenced last week and includes additional support from Harbinger. See all remaining dates below.

FRANTIC AMBER Unleash Details, Pre-Sale & First Video Single ‘Jolly Jane’ from Upcoming Studio Album “Death Becomes Her”

Swedish all-female melodic death metal act FRANTIC AMBER has revealed the first details about their forthcoming, third studio album, entitled “Death Becomes Her”! Slated for a worldwide release on April 4, 2025 via the band’s new label partner ROAR, the album pre-sale is now available at: https://franticamber.rpm.link/deathPR

FRANTIC AMBER started in 2008 as a project in Stockholm by founding guitarist Mary Siebecke with the intention to form an all-female metal band. At first it was an experiment through various genres and with clean vocals. It wasn’t until 2010, with the recruitment of Danish ballet dancer Elizabeth Andrews on extreme/clean vocals and lyric writing, as well as Japanese vocal and guitar teacher Mio Jäger handling lead guitar and main songwriting, that the identity of FRANTIC AMBER started to take its shape into the melodic death metal beast they are known as today.

Their music can best be described as Melodic Brutal Death Metal with Thrash, Black, Progressive, Heavy Metal and Symphonic elements. The thunderous bass together with the technicality and power of the drums provide the backbone, while the guitar’s shredding and soaring melodies complete the soundscape together with the powerful and aggressive vocals.

Give ear, as today, FRANTIC AMBER are presenting a music video for their first album single “Jolly Jane” taken off their forthcoming rager “Death Becomes Her”! The track is now streaming on all digital services via: https://franticamber.rpm.link/jollyjanePR

““Death Becomes Her” is a concept album about female serial killers and includes different kinds of killers and categories of serial killers. “Jolly Jane” is our album’s “Angel of Death” or “Medical Murderess”, the band comments. ““Jolly Jane” Toppan was a serial killer nurse with a lethal fetish, in Massachusetts duringthe late 1800s, who turned hospital beds into her personal playground for medical murder. Her twisted ambition was “to have killed more people – helpless people – than any other man or woman who ever lived”, deriving a sexual thrill from watching her patients convulse and die horribly while lying in bed with them. She was eventually caught, confessing to 31 murders with chilling satisfaction and was committed to an asylum for life. The song “Jolly Jane” is the most brutal on the album. Musically we wanted a dynamic song going from super fast blast beats and guitar shredding to ultra slow breakdowns while ending on an undeniable groove. The lyrics paint a vivid and uncompromising picture of her crimes with playful wording paired with an emphasis on “basement low” guttural and grimey growls.“

FRANTIC AMBER’s first EP, “Wrath Of Judgement”, was released in 2010 and landed them the opportunity to play live on national TV at the prestigious “P3 Guld” awards. Gaining momentum the band toured in Europe with SIX FEET UNDER among others, followed by releasing three videos for the songs “Wrath Of Judgement”, “Bleeding Sanity” and “Ghost”. In 2012 they won the Swedish Wacken Metal Battle and got to play a show at the huge W:O:A festival.

With two much-acclaimed full length records under their belt, “Burning Insight” and “Bellatrix”, several single releases and millions of streams and Youtube views, FRANTIC AMBER have played numerous festivals and toured all across Europe, Scandinavia as well as Japan, Russia and even played the largest festival in Colombia “Rock al Parque”. They have shared stages with bands like BEHEMOTH, EXODUS, SABATON, EXCITER, HAMMERFALL, CARACH ANGREN, DARK TRANQUILITY, UNLEASHED, TAAKE, INSOMNIUM, MYRKUR, AT THE GATES and TARJA to name just a few. In 2023, they were nominated by IMPALA as one of three Swedish acts to be included in the worldwide “100 Artists to watch” program that year.

Now, the time has finally come: On April 4th, FRANTIC AMBER will release their hotly-anticipated new album “Death Becomes Her”, an incredible, unique and brutal beast, with eleven amazing tracks, that will definetly blow your speakers and minds!

Dutch futuristic metallers CRYPTOSIS have announced their return with a mighty, awe-inspiring sophomore album entitled “Celestial Death”, set for worldwide release on March 7th, 2025 via Century Media Records.

To further demonstrate the powerful and versatile material available on “Celestial Death”, a third single entitled “Static Horizon” is being made available today across digital platforms and can also be checked out in a video clip produced by the film production company F/53 (https://f-53.com/) here:

Cryptosis checked in with the following comment about the track: “’Static Horizon’ is the 3rd single from our upcoming album ‘Celestial Death’, out March 7th through Century Media Records. The song combines black metal atmospheres and symphonic elements with fast prog metal guitar picking and melodic doomy grooves. The title represents a feeling of being trapped in a static, unchanging reality, where progress and hope seem distant. With its haunting melodies and intense riffing, the track delivers a powerful mix of raw energy and deep emotion.”

The album’s previous singles can also still be seen here:
“Faceless Matter”: https://youtu.be/cydvu7ScAmg
“Reign Of Infinite”: https://youtu.be/cq_9cXEr4b4

“Celestial Death” was recorded by Olaf Skoreng at Tom Meier and Studio Moon Music between April and August 2024, mixed by Fredrik Folkare at Chrome Studios (Unleashed, Necrophobic, Hellbutcher) in Sweden and finally mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Studios (Arch Enemy, Borknagar, Amorphis) in Sweden too. The album is the follow-up to Cryptosis’ acclaimed “Bionic Swarm” debut album (2021) and the EP “The Silent Call” (2023), it once more comes with artwork by Eliran Kantor (Kreator, Testament, My Dying Bride) and also showcases the group on a darker, heavier, more melodic and extremely cinematic journey across its 11 tracks / 42 minutes of playing time with the following track-listing:

Cryptosis – “Celestial Death” (42:12):
1. Prologue – Awakening (01:16)
2. Faceless Matter (03:52)

Finnish metal band Northvoid is set to release a new EP ‘Ember Remains’ on April 25th 2025 via Inverse Records. The first single ‘Wilderness’ aims to transport the listener to the quiet, wilderness-like landscape.

LISTEN to the single on streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/northvoid-wilderness

  • Lyrics by Timo Korkalainen
  • ISRC: FI3FC2589802
  • Single picture by Kimmo Timonen, cover artwork Markus Heikkinen

“The lyrics of the single Wilderness are related to the wilderness and landscape of Eastern Finland. We also find a source for our music from these hidden places in the forests,” the band states.

“The wilderness is an endless source of inspiration, which we bring out with metallic verses,” continues the band’s drummer and lyricist Timo Korkalainen.

The first version of Wilderness was completed in the summer of 2022. The song was played in rehearsals and took its final form after several rounds of arrangements.

According to the band’s guitarist and composer Markus Heikkinen, “Wilderness is a great example of mixing different genres into our style of music.

We start with a faster and more intense tempo and visit the surroundings of a black metal. The middle section takes on a slightly calmer, painterly atmosphere, before returning to the pace of the beginning. The keyboards emphasize the atmosphere throughout the song, gluing it together as a whole.”

Track list:

  1. Northern Breeze
  2. Wilderness
  3. Sun & Moon
  4. Entrusted
  5. The Ember
