DELLA NOVA to Release Self-Titled Debut Album on December 13th, Announce Album Launch Party

Ground-Shattering Grooves And Slicker Than a Wiseguy’s Wedding – Introducing DELLA NOVA:

A three-piece rock outfit from the UK’s capital, DELLA NOVA captures the essence of modern rock with their self-titled debut album, ‘Della Nova.’ Melodic, hard-hitting, and experimental, the band blends high-energy guitar rock with soundscapes that soar. For a debut album, it’s a relentless rock ‘n’ roll juggernaut; this will be a haven for rock aficionados seeking their favourite new band.

The genesis of singer, guitarist, and songwriter Alex Bowmer, whose vision of classic rock, stoner, and alternative rock influences has resulted in DELLA NOVA delivering a collection of impressive songs. The name DELLA NOVA emerged when Alex was working for a witch in 2019, in reference to the secret magical order ‘The Ordine Della Nova’, which operated in the 1980s. Featuring long-time collaborator Joe Chauncy on bass, and newest member Adam Szabo laying down the drums, DELLA NOVA has distilled the essence of rock ‘n’ roll while rolling the dice.

Watch ‘Gimme Love’ (official music video):

DELLA NOVA’s debut album journey effortlessly weaves together huge 8-string guitar-driven riffs with the more delicate & dreamy chord passages, with a couple of thunderous guitar solos scattered to kick things up a gear. Drums that would knock Phil Collins off his rocking chair and razor-sharp, driving bass make up the rhythm section for Alex to lay down his proverbial vengeance upon. In combination with atmospheric interludes, this album debut takes the listener on a journey that dips their toes in nostalgia but with a raw, fresh energy of modern progressive.

Lyrically, the songs on ‘Della Nova’ are an amalgamation of Alex’s life experiences and perspectives—from breakups to new love, political frustration & disdain for the government to bad acid trips. It was recorded in a converted church-warehouse-party mansion where Alex lives; it’s a glimpse into the mind of a real London warehouse rocker.

The new album has been four years in the making, having gone through various changes to its mixes and masters. The album eventually ended up in the hands of Ben Jeffes, a widely acclaimed sound professional in the film industry, and long-term friend of Alex. Working together, the pair have crafted an album that is deeply rich in its production.

Ex-drummer and cousin to Alex, Karl Hall, features on the album’s recordings. The decision for Karl to part with the band was unanimous and amicable, so to have his cousin forever be part of the DELLA NOVA album is something Alex cherishes.

A live London show will accompany the album’s release date, where DELLA NOVA will perform in the heart of North London’s Warehouse district at New River Studios, with local bands supporting.

With its approach to blending nostalgic rock elements with colossal, fresh, aggressive, and experimental styles, DELLA NOVA is poised to make a significant impact on the rock music scene, appealing to fans of gritty, powerful melodic hooks stacked with high voltage.

‘Della Nova’ is released 13th December 2024.

Morten Veland:

“I’m proud and honoured to welcome my dear friend and collaborator through 20 years, my Sirenia colleague Emma Zoldan as my special guest for ‘The Covid Aftermath Sessions’. The song that we have done together is a cover version of The Doors’ classic song ‘Riders on the Storm’. I am thrilled with how the song turned out, I feel that me and Emma were able to make a very cool take on this awesome song who I have been a huge fan of for as long as I can remember. I feel truly privileged and thankful to have Emma back on board this project, as she already was part of the choir on Mortemia’s debut album back in 2010. We are really looking forward to sharing this song with you all. The song will be available on all digital platforms on Friday the 29th of November 2024”.

Emma:

“I have been very enthusiastic to be invited again to collaborate with Morten on his Mortemia project after so many years, and so excited with the choice he did with covering “Riders on the storm”. It gave me lots of emotion putting my voice on this anthologic, dark and emotional song from The Doors, that we all know from our childhood. I Hope you’ll enjoy it!”

After 11 years of silence Norwegian multi-instrumentalist, producer and artist Morten Veland activated his solo project Mortemia during the early stages of the Covid 19 pandemic, this time with a brand new concept consisting of collaborations with multiple guest singers. ‘The Pandemic Pandemonium Sessions’ was a series of singles released on a monthly basis, each song featuring a well known and highly profiled guest singer from the metal scene. So far the following singers has contributed for his collaborations:

Lemmy Kilmister’s Ash Ceremony at Stringfellows Gentleman’s Club in London

Lemmy Kilmister will take up full-time residence at one of his favourite places to relax and socialize – Stringfellows Gentleman’s Club in London. It is a place which holds many Lemmy memories for friends and associates, as it became one of his favourite places to be after it opened in 1980.
Owned by Peter Stringfellow – who in the 1960s booked some of the era’s biggest acts such as The Beatles, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, and others – Stringfellows became a hot spot for celebrities and rock stars alike.

It was quickly an established fact among those who knew him that if Lemmy was in London, odds were good that you would find him at Stringfellows. Lemmy and Peter Stringfellow subsequently developed a good friendship with both appreciating the rock’n’roll lifestyle as well as enjoying a great environment in which to relax. Even after moving to West Hollywood, every year when the band ended their European tour dates (usually in December), Lemmy would be sure to spend time at Stringfellows before flying back home.

“Stringfellows always held a special place in Lemmy’s heart. He loved the rock’n’roll spirit Peter brought to the club, he loved the relaxed environment, and he certainly loved the view. I know he’s relieved he can get back to enjoying one of his favorite places on the planet!”, said Motörhead’s manager Todd Singerman.

It is therefore fitting that this December 18th will see Lemmy back at the world famous club permanently, the latest in a series of Lemmy Forever ceremonies which further immortalize Lemmy in places which were special to him. There will be another miniature replica of his custom urn containing a portion of his ashes, which will be placed at the club, ensuring Lemmy can permanently hold court at one of his beloved places, and the celebration will be a night of some of Lemmy’s favorite things: drinks, rock’n’roll, hors d’oeuvres, oh… and beautiful women! Phil Campbell, the guitarist of Motörhead, will be in attendance to say a few words and place his dear friend’s and fellow band member’s ashes there.
“When he was in London, Lemmy never missed a night out at Stringfellows. Lemmy was a true friend of the club”, said Sadat Banda, operations director for Stringfellows.

For those in the London area: The celebration begins at 7pm and will go until 9pm. For those that are unable to attend: Fear not. You will once again always be able to find Lemmy at Stringfellows.

COFFINWOOD Release Song ‘Biorobots’ from Upcoming Debut Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 29, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: COFFINWOOD. Leave a comment

COFFINWOOD was formed in 2017 by Beherit (bass), Kumen (guitar) and Trommeslager (drums) in Warsaw, Poland. In 2018 joined forces with vocalist – Varulv. In April 2020 the first EP “Storm of Steel” was released, and is based on the novel of the same title by Ernst Junger.
Since September 2022, the band has played live shows with the original lineup, where Beherit took over the vocal duties, supported by Kumen‘s backing vocals.

After 4 years of silence and hard working in rehearsal room, Warsovian band is ready to unleash their “the fruit” of that work which is debut studio album.

Musicians of the band comments their upcoming record as follows:

Kumen said: “The album is a kind of tribute to the tragic events surrounding the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster. The lyrics allude to the events before and after the reactor explosion, describing the chaos intertwined with the elusive melancholy and horror to which those who were thrown into the fight against the growing contamination were subjected.“

Beherit add: “The idea for the album’s theme was a natural follow-up to the direction we had taken earlier. Our lyrics focus on the deadly and destructive effects of suffering on the human psyche. In creating our first EP, we decided on a concept album formula; we wanted to address a topic often overlooked in pop culture, overshadowed by other, later events (World War I, for the record). It was no different when we were looking for inspiration while creating material for a full-length album. The theme of the Chernobyl power plant disaster fits perfectly here. Human suffering, depopulated villages, propaganda.“

Music was recorded, mixed and mastered by Paweł “Janos” Grabowski at JNS Studio (Antigama, Dormant Ordeal, Hate, Hostia, Riverside, Symbolical). Cover artwork was done by Mieszko Jankowski (Morrath, Night Lord).

Debut album titled “Acolytes of Eternal Flame” will be released on December 16, 2024 digitally and as limited CD. Pre-order will be launched very soon at Bandcamp (here).

Listen to the song “Biorobots“:

Tracklist:

01. Disposition of Doom
02. Radionuclide
03. Salvation Through Radiation
04. Acolytes of Eternal Flame
05. Biorobots
06. 90s
