“‘The Optic Chiasm’ is our most complex and technical song for this album. It’s short but it does not need 8 minutes to showcase itself. We wanted to make that one song that will have us terrified before we hit the stage and to see if we make it back alive after we play it. Lyrics wise it’s about how our anatomy is not capable of handling some of the information that exists out in the distant galaxies, that some things are so complex and so grand that our own minds wouldn’t be able to comprehend it. And therefore make us confused and deranged”.

KEOMA’s New Album “A New Beginning?” Out Now

The hybrid metal band Keoma from Helsinki, founded in 2008, has released their third album, “A New Beginning?” today.

The album is an eight-track creation of progressive metal that immediately takes the listener on a journey and lets go with its wistful conclusion, yet leaves the listener thirsting for more.

“It feels very good to release this record to the world and to our fans who have been waiting and waiting. Of course, along the way we have released several singles before this moment, but now is the opportunity to really experience the work intended as a whole. From start to finish. We started working on the album at the end of 2022 and we knew exactly what kind of sound we wanted for the album. Along with the trip, our friend Ville Liukkonen from Artlab was selected to mix the record and for the mastering, a big world view was needed, Acle Kahney from 4D Sounds (a familiar friend from the band TesseracT, by the way) took the booth. We are more than satisfied with the end result, this is our best-sounding album, but also our best album” says the band’s vocalist, Jasse Jatala.

PONTE DEL DIAVOLO Performing Fiery Debut at Roadburn, Inferno + Other European Festivals

PONTE DEL DIAVOLO bridges the gap between two separate worlds.

The Italian band proposes a Doom / Black metal sound with old-school roots, adding a modern and outside the box background. The female voice – with strong dark wave influences – is the lyric corpus of this strongly esoteric project. The solid presence of two bassists creates the massive foundation for the rhythmic guitar, everything marked by a raw and dynamic drumming.

Mystery of Mystery / Secret Live Session marked the quintet’s debut EP. It was recorded live and without editing at Dracma Studio with the producer L’Ossario in their home base of Turin in March 2020. “I” was released on the web by Iopan Records. It was soon followed by their second single, “The Wickedest Woman In the World”.

At the end of 2021, Ponte Del Diavolo recorded their second EP, Sancta Menstruis at Deepest Sea Studio in Turin with Danilo Battocchio. The first single,  “The Unborn”, arrived in February 2022.

The band’s third EP, Ave Scintilla!, was also recorded in Turin. This time around, they reconvened at Dracma Studio with L’Ossario.

Now that they’ve signed with Season of Mist, Ponte Del Diavolo are ready to release their debut album. Fire Blades From the Tomb  forges classic, cultish doom metal with modern bents of post-punk. Lead single and opening track “Demone” is whipped along by a boiled black bass line and dark-wave induced vocals.

Prepare to cross over into the Italian dark arts.

About ASKA:
ASKA, Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas-based, long-running heavy metal band has, as the title they gave their 3rd international tour can attest, “been there, done that”. And how! In 1992, just a short year after the release of the group’s self-titled debut album, they began touring the world performing at military bases, embassies and satellite installations around the globe for the U.S. Dept. of Defense/USO entertainment services. For nine years the group maintained a steady course, playing for U.S & foreign military troops in well over 56 countries and territories globally before turning their focus to the civilian world. There, they promptly played festivals around America and Europe and furthered their exposure in no small way. From inception to present, ASKA released seven full length albums on both national and international labels. 

During the process, ASKA’s triple-threat frontman/vocalist/guitarist, George Call, came to the attention of cult, US underground metal pioneers, Omen, where he was promptly recruited to take over the lead vocalist slot for three years while still maintaining his role in ASKA. When that association dissolved, George was immediately snatched up by former Atlantic Records/Metal Blade, Midwestern, MTV veterans, Banshee, where he’s been front and center on the band’s two newest top notch releases. While helming both bands after a fateful meeting at a festival performance with ASKA in Germany, Call, was further enlisted to join U.K. legendary, cult NWOBHM band, Cloven Hoof, where he proceeded to record and release three critically acclaimed, fan-favorite albums. ASKA drummer Danny White joined George on two of these endeavors while the band’s long-serving bassist/vocalist, Keith Knight, engineered and recorded a high percentage of George’s extra-curricular activity at his Knight Recording Studios, keeping the three working together even when it was outside of the band.
