German tech-death metallers Burn Down Eden are back with a bang, unleashing their blistering new self-titled single, ‘Burn Down Eden’ — from their highly anticipated upcoming EP, Epiphany, out 6th December via Seek & Strike. This new release marks a powerful follow-up to their earlier EP, Dismal, which dropped earlier this year. With razor-sharp riffs, intricate rhythms, and unrelenting intensity, ‘Burn Down Eden’ showcases the band’s relentless evolution and sets the stage for what promises to be their most devastating chapter yet.

Burn Down Eden state: “After our self-titled album from 2021, we needed a self-titled song for this record as well. It seems that many people still think that Burn Down Eden only stands for bashing the church/religion, which is definitely part of our critics, but our name is also a metaphor to how men are burning down our paradise called earth on a daily basis. And it’s mostly driven by power and greed. Just have a look at the daily news…war in Ukraine, Israel at war (while this is a religious conflict and what we think of that was covered in our 2022 EP release Sermonize), inflation leading to people suffering because they can’t afford the simplest things no more, while 1% of the world’s population becomes fatter and fatter by holding half of the world’s net wealth. Our societies are falling apart since there’s only a black and white perspective on things. “You’re either with me or against me.” Several civil wars or a third world war have never been more likely than today. 

“Sure, economic growth is not the sole reason for all the disparities and inequities in the world, but it plays a huge part. Our bill will be paid eventually, but to what costs. With our self-titled song we wanna cover that topic. The video to the song supplements the whole thing. We did it the Burn Down Eden way and tried to picture this serious topic in a funny way. Inspired by the movie Wolf of Wallstreet we tried to put all the stereotypes of the business world in a bit over three minutes. Starting with our vocalist Pether being the boss, who loves to yell at people on the phone just to rip a line of coke afterwards to get ready for the meeting, where he yet again is yelling at his employees. He wants to put the right mindset in their heads to do whatever it takes to make the sales, so that all of ’em become filthy rich. Ultimately, they reach their goal with their unfair business practices and they celebrate their win to the fullest until the SWAT team destroys the party.” 

Known for their explosive fusion of brutality, melodic harmony, technical prowess, and lyrical depth, Burn Down Eden‘s music serves as a stark mirror, reflecting the darker aspects of humanity and challenging listeners to confront the uncomfortable truths we create.

Now the band are poised to celebrate a remarkable milestone: their 10th anniversary in 2024. In honour of this significant occasion, they are set to unveil their highly anticipated new LP, Dismal Epiphany, in 2025. This ambitious project is thoughtfully divided into two parts. The first segment, titled Dismal, an EP released earlier this year in April, which features captivating videos for the first five tracks, showcasing the band’s evolution and artistic vision.

The excitement continues now with this second part, Epiphany EP, which kicked off in August 2024, with the release of the evocative single ‘Epistrophy‘, follow up, ‘Fake News For Breakfast‘ and most recent, ‘Tears Of Persephone‘. As Burn Down Eden reflect on a decade of artistic growth and innovation, the anticipation builds: will this new release propel them to even greater heights?

Burn Down Eden add: “With the Epiphany EP, we pick up right where we left off with the Dismal EP released earlier this year. The technical and musical level is higher than ever. Epiphany has the same overall dark vibe as Dismal, but with a slightly brighter touch to it, which is why these specific five songs were chosen to be on this second EP. Together, the two EPs result in the desired full-length album.

“Once Epiphany drops in full on Dec 6th, you’ll finally be able to listen to it as a full-length album, which was the way we originally envisioned. It feels like one thrilling flow from start to finish or you can listen to both EPs back to back. It doesn’t matter! In the end, what you’re having is a cauldron full of technical death metal riffs, neoclassical shredding, exotic scales, clever harmonies, groovy headbangers, lethal high-speed blasts and atmospheric counterpoint black metal layers, garnished with lyrics that show the ugly face of humanity. That’s what Burn Down Eden is all about!”
