Following the release of their much-acclaimed, latest studio album “Hail The Abyss” (released in May 2023 via Napalm Records HERE), blackened death metal frontrunners THULCANDRA have announced their first-ever live album, celebrating the first chapter and early days of the band!

“Live Demise” was recorded live in 2011 at a hometown show in Munich, Germany, and features true gems that the band hasn’t performed in more than a decade, all with the original line-up consisting of Sebastian Ludwig, Tobias Ludwig, Matthias Landes (Dark Fortress, Noneuclid) and Steffen Kummerer (Obscura, Death, Cynic).

THULCANDRA’s rise to power ignited when the four-piece unleashed their debut album, “Fallen Angel’s Dominion”, upon metaldom in 2010. Followed by their 2011 masterpiece, “Under a Frozen Sun”, “Live Demise” contains brutal-as-hell classics from both records, like “Black Flags Of Hate”, “In Blood And Fire” and “The Spirit Of The Night”, aptly capturing the spirit and high-voltage energy of both the crowd and band. Ragers such as “Night Eternal” and “Fallen Angel’s Dominion” perfectly showcase the band’s raw and intense performances in their early days, and prove how THULCANDRA has quickly stepped up as one of the leading bands of their genre!

Due to the pandemic, which was subsequently followed by their latest studio album “Hail The Abyss”, “Live Demise” could not be released alongside THULCANDRA‘s 20th anniversary as originally planned. Now, with mixing and mastering by Dan Swanö (Katatonia, Edge Of Sanity, Dissection) and cover artwork designed by Herbert Lochner, this very special release will become available in only strictly limited editions exclusively via Napalm Records and at THULCANDRA‘s upcoming live shows – including their European co-headlining run with legendary Swedish black and death metal band Sacramentum with support from Nephylim. MASSACRE Stream New Album “Necrolution”, Out Today

American death metal legends MASSACRE are streaming their long-awaited fifth studio album “Necrolution” in full. The release drops today, on November 8th via Agonia Records in CD/LP/MC/Digital. Listen to the album, here:

“Necrolution” is a retrospective, nostalgic album, that turns back time to the late 80s and early 90s era of death metal. Recapturing the essence and style of death metal that was the original formula. Recreating the aesthetic feeling of something from the original style and sound to represent to these modern times. It’s purposefully meant to sound dated as it represents an era of early death metal music. It purposefully does not mimic the band’s own original style but rather reflects the styles of many early era bands that influenced generations in death metal music.

Commented by Kam Lee: “With «Necrolution» the idea was to evolve the band’s sound by devolving it. Unlike many bands in death metal that attempt to modernize and update their style and sound to emulate many of the modern contemporary death metal bands, we wanted to go back to the origin. The original sound and style. We wanted to make an album that sounds like it could have come out of the late 80s. The entire concept was to create something that was a de-evolution of the death metal genre and go back to an early style reminiscent of the past. Going back 40 years into the past to immolate the style of death metal that was predominantly influenced by thrash and heavy metal bands of the era. Lyrically it’s still entrenched in the horror genre and influenced by HP Lovecraft stories. We even have three tracks directly dedicated and influenced by the director Stewart Gordon, the filmmaker who was directly responsible for bringing Lovecraft films to horror movies in the 80s. The overall idea was to bring a 1980s aesthetic to the music that’s influenced by 1980s music as well as horror movie genre at the time. My hope is that fans find a unique experience when listening to «Necrolution» that not only encapsulates the feeling of 80s nostalgia but makes them appreciate the way the era influenced the death metal genre at the time.”

“Necrolution” was recorded at DOA studios, Full S Studios & Gojiden Studio in Florida (USA) and mixed and mastered by Jonny Pettersson at Studio Unbound in Sweden. The cover artwork was painted by Timbul Cahyono of Bvllmetalart. Mark Riddick (Arch Enemy, Autopsy, Morbid Angel) created the merchandise designs. The recording personnel for the new album – much of whom have been with MASSACRE since the “Resurgence” era – comprises, aside from Kam Lee, original MASSACRE bassist Mike Borders, returning guitarists Rogga Johansson (Paganizer, Rib Spreader, Megascavanger) & Jonny Pettersson (Wombbath, Heads for The Dead), and new drummer, Jon Rudin (Just Before Dawn, Heads for The Dead, Dehumanaut). The band features a separate session line-up for live performances, which consists of Carlos Gonzalez (Grim Reality) on guitars, Elden Santos (Druid Lord) on drums and Tim Wilson on bass.

Formed in 1984, MASSACRE started out as a heavy/power metal band, but changed its style to death metal with the joining of Allen West and Kam Lee; the latter is often credited for inventing the “death growl” – first heard on the band’s 1986 demo “Aggressive Tyrant” – and is considered an influential pioneer as far as the death metal genre is concerned. The group went through several personnel shifts and disbandments over the years – with its early line-up toggling between  MASSACRE,  Mantas  (early Death) and Death – to a triumphant return in 2021, with their last studio album “Resurgence”.

  • Music by Petri Kolkka

  • Single cover by Maxime Taccardi, edited by Koropse Peletone

Kurwa Doktor comments:
“Our 5th album ‘Disgust’ is a brutal reality check in the form of a 20-song blast of adult oriented deathgrind. We moved further away from the gore & perversion fantasy themes and discovered the wonderful world of every-day morbid human behaviour. At the same time we enriched the old school death/grind groundwork with shameless hardcore elements and dissonant madness. If this is some form a rebirth of this band, it was probably painless and bloodless even though not very obvious nor premeditated. Feel the disgust and love it like a hideous animal you are.”

Disgust Track list:

  1. Explicit Everything
  2. Toleraped
  3. Darkest Auer
  4. When Only Fans Blow On Empty Stage 5. Flesh Fabricant

ANDRZEJ CITOWICZ, the acclaimed guitarist and composer known for his work with Citovitz And The Fireflies Of February, has unveiled his latest musical offering – the new single “Fear Poems” from his upcoming EP “Winter Love”. This highly anticipated release marks a bold new direction for the artist, fusing his signature guitar-driven sound with the soaring vocals of pop artist Justine St. Claire.

Citowicz, who has been a recording artist for the legendary American label DownBoys Records for many years, has collaborated extensively with bass maestro Patryk Szymanski over the course of his career. This long-standing creative partnership has played a pivotal role in shaping the unique sonic landscape of “Winter Love.”

“‘Winter Love’ represents a new chapter in my musical journey,” said Citowicz. “With the help of AI-powered tools and a focus on live instrumentation, I’ve been able to craft a sound that seamlessly blends the raw power of rock with the infectious energy of pop. Working alongside Justine St. Claire has been an absolute revelation – her vocals elevate the material to new heights, while Patryk’s synth bass work provides a pulsing backbone that drives the entire EP forward.”
The lead single “Fear Poems” serves as a tantalizing preview of the sonic alchemy that awaits listeners on the full “Winter Love” EP, scheduled for release on December 1, 2024. Citowicz’s virtuosic guitar work intertwines with St. Claire’s soaring melodies, creating a expansive, cinematic soundscape that is both emotionally resonant and rhythmically captivating.

“This project has been a true labor of love,” Citowicz continued. “It’s my hope that ‘Winter Love’ will transport listeners to a world of wonder and imagination, where the boundaries between genres fade away and the only thing that matters is the power of great music.”

September 5th 2024, ANDRZEJ CITOWICZ’s CITOVITZ AND THE FIREFLIES OF FEBRUARY (CTFF) premiered via YouTube their latest album “Living Machine”.

This project features two talented musicians: Andrzej Citowicz, a guitarist and composer originally from Wałbrzych, Poland, now residing in Cairo, who has collaborated with guitarists from the legendary American band Warrant; and Patryk Szymański, a bassist and guitarist from Działdowo, Poland, known for his work with the band Transtime.

“Living Machine” – comprises 10 tracks. The album blends ’80s rock vibes with modern sounds. What sets this release apart is the inclusion of vocal parts, a departure from the band’s previous instrumental albums. Through a collaboration with TuneCore, the musicians leveraged artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. AI not only generated vocal parts for the provided lyrics and tracks but was also applied to existing vocal recordings, giving them a completely new dimension.

His music serves as a powerful tool for self-expression, allowing him to convey complex emotions and thoughts in a way that transcends verbal communication. By sharing his experiences and creative process, Citowicz aims to inspire and empower others on the autism spectrum, while also promoting greater understanding and acceptance of neurodiversity in the music industry.

JULIET’S NOT DEAD Unleash Video for Storming New Rocker ‘King And Queen’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 8, 2024

JULIET’S NOT DEAD release their video for storming new rocker ‘King And Queen’, out now, new album ‘This World Is Ours‘ will be released on 7th February, 2025.

Order the single: https://earache.lnk.to/KingQueen / https://linktr.ee/julietsnotdead

Main man Stevie Stoker says this about the single, “What I love about King & Queen musically is just how relentless it is. It just starts and is full on until the end. It’s a million miles an hour. Even when we were demoing it, you could feel how it would sound finished. It has this infectious energy about it that really reflects us as a band.

Musically its ‘feel good’ song but it also has a message behind it, that you should surround yourself with people who make you a better person but also accept you at your worst. We can’t all be 100% all the time. We will have our wild moments, our down moments we need the people around us to accept that and roll with it. Sometimes they will add to the madness, and sometimes they will be the calm we were looking for.”

Album presale link: https://tmrrockrecords.com/collections/juliets-not-dead

Stevie Stoker spoke about ‘This World Is Ours‘, “I love this album, not only do I think it’s the best music we’ve ever written, but it was also the most enjoyable writing and recording process I’ve ever been a part of. Jack & I wrote for most of 2023. We were even recording demos while on tour around Europe. From the get-go we knew what we wanted to say with this collection of songs. As a band you come up against so many challenges and we wanted this album to reflect all of the emotions, difficult decisions, and strong bonds we’ve made over the last couple of years.

“Getting the songs ready to record for the final time is always my favourite part of the process but also one of the trickiest. We demo them fully, so every layer and part is where it should be and critique and change bits until we are happy with it. However it’s sometimes difficult to know when you’re done. Thankfully we had the right production team behind it, approaching it with a clear view of what we wanted the final result to be. Romesh (Dodangoda) and the boys at Longwave made our job easy and we literally smiled and laughed our way through it. We hope anyone who hears it will hear the joy behind the music no matter the subject.”

Heralding from the North East, Juliet’s Not Dead are an adrenaline fuelled, driven band with the sole intention of thrilling their audiences at every show. They have just finished recording the follow up to the highly acclaimed debut album and it is ready for release in February 2025. If their last EP ‘Only The Strong Survive’ is anything to go by; attitude filled riffs, and a killer modern edge will be abundant. The band have again paired with Mercury prize & Grammy nominated producer Romesh Dodangoda to set about crafting something special.

Formerly known as TWISTER, this album will be the first under their new moniker of Juliet’s Not Dead
Stevie Stoker said of the name change, “This is probably the biggest decision we’ve ever made as a band, having gone under the Twister banner for so long. But following the completion of our new album with Romesh it just felt time to evolve, to kick it up, to create a brand that better represents our sound. It was hard to take the plunge but now it’s done it feels great. We love our new name, but I now need another tattoo!
He added, “We will still be playing Twister songs, they are now just Juliet’s Not Dead songs and when coupled with the new material folks will see that growth and natural progression. These are exciting times for us, not that we were jaded or treading water, but the new material sounds fresh and takes us to another level. Now we get to show our fans and hopefully gain some new ones too. We’ve spent so long perfecting this show and now we absolutely can’t wait to get out there and play for everyone.”

HIGHSOCIETY & COPING METHOD Release Intense New Collaboration on ‘Obsolete’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 8, 2024
Posted in: News. Tagged: HIGHSOCIETY, COPING METHOD. Leave a comment

HIGHSOCIETY and COPING METHOD, both masters of sonic mayhem, have dropped their next single a brutal metalcore dubstep cross over that is anything but “Obsolete.”

Purchase/Stream:https://link.fixtmusic.com/obs0lete

Driven by Coping Method’s signature dark and intense metalcore style, fused with HIGHSOCIETY’s groundbreaking metal dubstep production, “OBSOLETE” is a fierce, adrenaline-charged anthem. The raw aggression of metalcore in tandem with the electrifying energy of EDM and dubstep, this explosive collaboration pushes boundaries and redefines what a genre crossover can sound like. With heavy breakdowns combined with brutal vocals, and searing synths that collide in a sonic assault both bands have delivered a track that is both chaotic and meticulously crafted. The result is a brutal, yet cohesive, track that embodies the future of hybrid metalcore-electronic music – Perfect for fans looking for something that defies convention. Step out of your comfort zone. “Obsolete” is out now from FiXT.

“Collaborations come together in all sorts of ways,” explains HIGHSOCIETY. “Sometimes they’re business-driven or arranged by labels—but this one was personal. As the ultimate Coping Method fan (seriously, I’ll challenge anyone on that), I knew I had to make this happen. Their dark metalcore-EDM sound feels like the perfect mirror image of mine, and I knew we’d create an absolute monster if we worked together.”  – HIGHSOCIETY

The ascending bass music talent that is known as HIGHSOCIETY has been on a rapid rise as of late, thanks to his addictive blend of stadium-crushing future bass, metallurgic dubstep, and blazing trap. With a seemingly endless torrent of releases across standout labels from FiXT, Barong Family, and Universal Music, to Red Bull Records and Lowly Palace/Trap Nation, HIGHSOCIETY has firmly established himself as one of the most exciting new acts in electronic music.

In the past HIGHSOCIETY worked with respected labels such as Dim Mak, Red Bull Records,  Island Records, Lowly Palace, Welcome Records, Barong Family,  Universal, and now FiXT. He’s also worked with many high-profile artists including AWOLNATION, Attack Attack!, Celldweller, Teddy Killerz, The Anix, Big Shaq, Reid Speed, Palisades, Jade, and Le Castle Vania as well as earned sync placements with HBO, MTV, MTV2, ABC Family, Freeform, and Oxygen. He’s performed live with Knife Party, Kill The Noise, Slushii, Modestep, GTA, and Elohim at many live festivals including but not limited to Live 105 BFD Festival, Bottlerock Festival, Amsterdam Dance Event, and many headline shows across the US.

Beneath the mystifying cloak of ambiguity lies vulnerability. Coping Method thrives in the shadows of the human psyche, exploring unfiltered rumination via their unique marriage of Metal and Dark EDM. Those who participate in their exercises, classified as “trainees,” are encouraged to lose themselves in each sonic wave. Underneath the brooding veneer of the organization is a yearning to connect with each trainee, providing an outlet for their struggles. Instructors Tyler Simpson (Vocals), Jed Stark (Guitar/Synth), and Chad Wunderle (Drums) believe in the message with every fiber of their being. By embracing the pulsating soundscapes and sonorous timbres, you too might believe.
