Harnessing some of the heaviest riffs to emerge from the Irish Metal scene, Cork five-piece, Following the Signs are back with new music in the form of ‘Birthright’.
Last year saw the bands sophomore studio album ‘Conflictions’ catch the attention of heavy music fans and critics alike thanks to the albums intensive heavy aural structure, and powerful lyrics. With their brand new single, Following The Signs continue to venture further down their creative path, delivering a gut-punching slab of high-voltage Metal that will appeal to fans of Slipknot, Lamb of God, Whitechapel, In Flames, Killswitch Engage, etc…
Speaking of the new single, the band says; “Birthright is a concept song about living your life the way you want to. It’s all about sticking to your guns and fighting for your dreams even though you might have people in your life that doubt you. Even though the song is heavy, it has a “I’m free and able to conquer whatever stands in front of me” vibe to the track. The main focus of this song is to showcase the band’s determination to not give up no matter how many times they’ve been denied. This song also showcases how the world around us is unfair and we have to find a way to deal with it. It has the band’s classic sound with thought out riffs and catchy melodies, mixed with undeniable bass-lines. This track marks the start of the new FTS era”.
Following The Signs are Dan Hayes (vocals), Noel Crowley (guitar), Vincent Renoux (guitar), Rory Taylor (bass) Chris O’ Hanlon (drums)

Morten Veland (SIRENIA, MORTEMIA and founder of TRISTANIA) released the ninth Mortemia song from ‘The Covid Aftermath Sessions’ today. The song is a cover version of the Greek band Mple’s original version first released back in 1996. The track is entitled ‘Fovamai’ and features Maxi Nil from the band Jaded Star on guest vocals, it’s available on all digital platforms as of today the 19th of July 2024. The video will premiere on Mortemia’s official youtube channel ( Mortemia – YouTube ) at 18:00 hours CET.
“I’m proud and honoured to welcome Maxi Nil Official from Jaded Star as my special guest for ‘The Covid Aftermath Sessions’. The song that we have done together is a cover version of the Greek band Mple (Μπλε) and the song is entitled “Fovamai” “Φοβάμαι”. Me and Maxi already talked about doing a collab together for some time, so I always had her in mind whenever recording new songs for Mortemia. In February this year I was in Greece to play a show in Athens with Sirenia. I was taking a taxi from the airport to the hotel, and on the radio this song came on. I instantly loved it and noted the name of the band and the song. I also knew right away that this song would fit perfectly for Maxi, and since the song is in Greek too, it could not be more perfect. I was thrilled to find out that Maxi also was a huge fan of this song, and shortly after we completed the recordings. I am so happy with how the song turned out, Maxi did an amazing performance that fitted the song perfectly. I feel truly privileged and thankful to have Maxi on board this project, and I am really looking forward to sharing this song with you all. The song will be available on all digital platforms on the 19th of July 2024. We have also made a video clip for the song that will premiere on Mortemia’s official youtube channel at 18:00 hours CET, the same day”.
Maxi Nil:
“I got to know Morten and Sirenia back in my days with Visions Of Atlantis. We shared the stage of many festivals and I’ve always liked his creative songwriting and musical expression. A few years back we started talking about a possible collaboration and now I know that it took so long for a reason! When he reached out and asked me to sing the Greek song “Fovamai” “Φοβάμαι” ,which means ” I’m afraid”, I was thrilled! This song first came out in 1996 by the band Ble (Μπλε) and quickly became extremely popular and touched countless of people. This collaboration with Morten came in a turning point of my life and singing those words with all my heart and soul worked as the perfect remedy for me.The timing couldn’ t be more perfect! I hope you get to feel the vibes even if you don’t speak Greek and enjoy our new approach to this beautiful song”!

Extreme Management Group (EMG), home to bands like Suffocation, Atheist, Misery Index, and more, has announced their partnership with Texas Hardcore/Death metal band CROWN OF HORNS.
In the blistering heat of El Paso, Texas, a new force emerged in the hardcore scene in 2020.
Crown of Horns was born from the ashes of the El Paso underground music scene, where four like-minded souls converged with a shared love for the raw energy of heavy downtuned music. Bonding over their mutual experiences and frustrations, The band relocated to Dallas, Tx, in 2024 in order to take the band to the next level.
[Tyler Darby]: With a voice that sears with raw intensity and a stage presence that commands you to jump, swing & spin kick anything and anyone near you. [Matthew Kish]: The backbone of the band, Matt’s bass lines provide the foundation upon which Crown of Horns builds its sonic assault [Joseph Carrillo]: A powerhouse behind the kit, Joseph drives the band forward with relentless energy and precision, his thunderous beats propelling Crown of Horns into uncharted territory. [Kaleb McGill]: With fingers that fly across the fretboard like a whirlwind, Kaleb adds layers of brutality and texture to Crown of Horns’ sound, igniting sparks of violence that ensnare the listeners attention.
Crown of Horns is a sonic juggernaut, blending elements of hardcore, death metal, and modern metal into a potent brew of raw power and unbridled emotion. With lyrics that cut to the bone and music that hits like a sledgehammer to the soul, they deliver a visceral experience that leaves audiences breathless and begging for more.
Drawing inspiration from heavyweights of Beatdown, Slam and Death Metal as well as hardcore , Crown of Horns pays homage to their musical roots while pushing the boundaries of the genre. From the blistering aggression of No Zodiac and Bodysnatcher to the metallic complexity of Kublai Khan TX and Obituary, they embrace the full spectrum of metal/hardcore’s rich tapestry.
In their brief but illustrious career, Crown of Horns has already made a significant impact on the scene, earning a reputation as one of Dallas’ most electrifying brutal live acts. From sold-out shows at local dive bars to raucous performances at underground festivals, they’ve left a trail of destruction in their wake, winning over fans with their blistering intensity.
But beyond the mosh pits and stage dives, Crown of Horns’ music speaks to something deeper—a primal urge to break free from the chains that bind us, to scream out against the ignorances of the world, and to find solace in the midst of chaos.
Through their music, they forge a powerful connection with their audience, uniting them in a shared catharsis. As they continue to hone their craft and refine their sound, Crown of Horns shows no signs of slowing down. With plans to record their sophomore album and embark on a nationwide tour, they’re poised to take the hardcore metal scene by storm, spreading their message of defiance and bleak to all who will listen.
Crown of Horns is more than just a band—it’s a spin kick to the mouth in a world consumed by injustice, a rallying cry for the dispossessed and the downtrodden. — WELCOME TO THE MOST HATED
Now in 2024, CROWN OF HORNS have signed with Extreme Management Group – another alliance which will further their remorseless, relentless ascent within the metal ranks.

Legendary, long-running metal band STRYPER is set to return with their 12th studio album ‘When We Were Kings,’ out September 13th via Frontiers Music Srl. The band celebrates the announcement with not one but two new singles! “Loves Symphony” is a classic meets modern rock track while the more pop-leaning “Grateful” shows the band’s continued commitment to faith-based music. Both tracks are accompanied by music videos and follow up the first single “End of Days”.
STRYPER’s current lineup includes original members Michael Sweet, Robert Sweet, and Oz Fox, along with bassist Perry Richardson, as they create what they consider their finest and most powerful music yet.
About “Loves Symphony” Michael Sweet shared this:
“We’re always trying to merge the past with the present. Trying to incorporate the classic sound that older fans miss with the modern sound that newer fans hope for.
“‘Love’s Symphony’ is a great combination of both. It not only represents who we were but also who we are. We really are excited about this one and we hope you all are too.”
About “Grateful” Sweet added:
“ ‘Grateful’ is an answer to all the fans that have been wanting to hear a throwback to songs like “Calling on You”. It’s a different side of the band musically with a straight ahead, pop/rock melody and groove. It’s also a message of gratitude and being grateful for what you have, no matter who you are.”
