A few days ago, indie punks HIPPIE TRIM accompanied Australian band TROPHY EYES on tour and are now releasing the final single of their new EP “Morbid Orbit”, which will be released digitally and on limited edition vinyl via Supervillain on May 31st. “Dog Days” can be streamed below.

‘Dog Days’ is about leaving the past behind and starting a new chapter in life. Life often forces you to deal with different situations and the song tells the story of the moment you realize that things will never be the same again,” HIPPIE TRIM comment.

Renowned for their distinctive sound, HIPPIE TRIM enlisted the expertise of Jon Markson (DRUG CHURCH, DRAIN, SOUL BLIND) and Adam Chichoki (CASEY, KOYO, LIKE PACIFIC) for mixing and mastering, continuing a successful collaboration that began with their 2022 studio album, “What Consumes Me.”

Reflecting on their journey so far, HIPPIE TRIM’s rise has been nothing short of meteoric. Following the success of their debut single “Supersonic,” the band quickly gained momentum, selling out their first show and subsequently joining DRUG CHURCH on their German tour. Their debut album, “Cult,” showcased a unique fusion of heaviness and melody, earning them acclaim from both fans and critics.

Despite a brief hiatus due to the pandemic, HIPPIE TRIM returned with a vengeance in 2022, earning praise from international media outlets such as BrooklynVegan for their sophomore album, “What Consumes Me.” Their dynamic live performances have seen them share stages with esteemed acts like FLESHWATER, NARROW HEAD, and TURNSTILE, solidifying their status as one of the genre’s most promising talents.

HUMANITY’S LAST BREATH Sign with Century Media, New Album Coming in 2025

Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: HUMANITY’S LAST BREATH. Leave a comment

Century Media Records is proud to announce the signing of Sweden’s masters of aural dissonance and unapologetic heaviness, HUMANITY’S LAST BREATH.

Encompassing elements of Djent, Doom, Deathcore and an apocalyptic sense of atonal atmosphere and
calculated chaos, HUMANITY’S LAST BREATH has ushered in the sound of extreme metal at its most startlingly modern.

HLB’s ominous sonic landscapes have taken on their own self-coined definition – THALL.

The brainchild of guitarist and producer Buster Odelholm with vocalist Filip Danielsson, HUMANITY’S LAST BREATH have set the standard for a new level of heaviness over the course of their steady stream of albums: the last two, 2023’s Ashen and 2021’s Valde (both released on the Unique Leader label) are considered genuine breakthroughs and have expanded the lexicon of extreme sounds for metal.

Said Metalsucks in their review of  Ashen: “Humanity’s Last Breath is apocalyptic. Beyond the low tunings and filthy growls lies something genuinely scary. That’s the real beauty of THALL. It’s really the whatever these guys need it to be in order to deal maximum damage in just under an hour.”

HUMANITY’S LAST BREATH formed over a decade ago as a creative outlet for Odelholm (who also plays with Swedish progressive metal legends, Vildhjarta and drums with metalcore standard-setters, Thrown). Solidifying a live lineup in 2016, which now also includes guitarist Calle Thomer and drummer Klas Blomgren, HLB began a string scattered touring and appearances at European festivals including Brutal Assault, Euroblast and the UK’s Tech-Fest.

Starting on April 30th Phoenix, Arizona, HUMANITY’s LAST BREATH will make its first-ever stop on US soil on the 2024 Chaos and Carnage Tour with a lineup that includes Cattle Decapitation, Carnifex and Century Media labelmates, Vitriol.

HUMANITY’S LAST BREATH is presently at work on their Century Media debut, due for release in 2025.

Says HUMANITY’S LAST BREATH: “Humanity’s Last Breath is thrilled to announce our signing with Century Media Records. We are excited to join forces with this legendary label! Stay tuned for what’s coming next!”

ADDS Mike Gitter, Century Media VP of A&R:  “We’re very excited to be working with HUMANITY’S LAST BREATH. We’ve already been working with Buster in Vildjharta and have long been fans of his work, which is breathtaking in its grasp. HLB encompasses musical extremity and innovation in a way that is utterly unique. It’s a sound-design of hellish proportions.”

NEAERA to Release “All Is Dust” Full-Length Album on June 28th

German metalcore veterans NEAERA, who are celebrating their twentieth anniversary this year, will release their All Is Dust full-length on June 28th via Metal Blade Records, today unveiling the record’s first single and pre-orders.

On February 28th, 2020, NEAERA released their seventh album – it was their eponymous comeback record after a seven-year-hiatus – which caught everyone by surprise. Despite having been well received, the pandemic impeded the band’s long awaited and already scheduled return to live stages. On February 29th, 2020, NEAERA played a sold-out release show, but it remained the only show for the record in years since Wacken, the Impericon festivals, and other shows were forced to be postponed until further notice.

By 2021, the NEAERA collective decided it was time for new material. With a desire to return to an oldschool writing approach when songs were composed together in a musty rehearsal room, the band started the writing process. By 2022, the band recruited Janosch Rathmer (drummer of long-time friends/German post-rock institution Long Distance Calling) to record their new album, All Is Dust. Mixing and mastering for the record was skillfully executed by Kristian Kohle at Kohlekeller Studios who adorned the songs with a powerful yet organic sound that perfectly fit the band’s vision of their new material and approach.

Lyrically, NEAERA shifted their focus a bit and put the individual, its survival, and sanity in these testing times center stage alongside lyrics that tackle global and social clamor – a shift that was arguably pandemic-related.

Comments guitarist Stefan Keller on first single, “Pacifier,” “‘Pacifier’ is a rather typical NEAERA song containing the trademarks the band is renowned for. The lyrics deal with a way to come to peace with oneself, leaving behind regrets, old pain and banishing thoughts that impede you.“

Additionally, a limited album/ticket bundle will be available at Kingsroad and Impericon for an exclusive NEAERA record release show in Münster, Germany on September 14th. Direct support for that show comes from Breakdown Of Sanity.

NESTOR Present Brand New Anthem + Official Video ‘Caroline’

Swedish rock ambassadors NESTOR embrace influences from the 80s with a sense of nostalgia and authenticity on their brand new single “Caroline“! With glossy production, NESTOR takes you straight back to the golden age of rock music – openly displaying their influences ranging from Bon Jovi and Journey to Aerosmith. The new anthem, “Caroline”, convinces with a catchy melody and passionate vocals, while Wemmenstedt demonstrates his insane skills once again as he tops the song with a stunning solo proving that NESTOR have never been on fire like that before.

As one of the hottest newcomers of modern rock music, NESTOR turns back time by gathering millions of streams on Spotify and hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube. They’ve shared stages with the almighty Alice Cooper, greats like Def Leppard and Europe, and were even supporting the legendary KISS in Stockholm on their 2022 stadium tour. Their new album, Teenage Rebel, is a rebellious and energetic onslaught that convinces with enormous hit density while invoking the spirit of youth. Get ready to crank up the volume!

NESTOR about “Caroline”:
“’Caroline’ is about time and motion wrapped up in a story of young hearts. The video takes place on an old train from mid 50’s which symbolizes the inner journey of a young weary soul. “

Having formed in 1989 only to fall into hibernation over three long decades, NESTOR emerged stronger than ever in 2021 with their debut album, Kids in a ghost town, marking the band’s triumphant return to the spotlight and captivating fans with their timeless sound and unmatched energy.

The new album, Teenage Rebel, sets off with a captivating intro-monologue spoken by Danish voice actress Freya Miller, creating a retro, rebellious atmosphere that sets the mood for the album and prepares the stage for the opening track “We Come Alive” – a true blast of an opener. Rhythmic guitars create an exciting backdrop for the gripping vocals of frontman Tobias Gustavsson, leading towards an incredible guitar solo by guitar hero Jonny Wemmenstedt. The album’s title track, “Teenage Rebel”, convinces with tight riffing and an anthem-like chorus honoring the tradition of 80s hard rock. “Victorious” is an anthemic masterpiece combining powerful vocals with dynamic instrumentals, promising to creep in the listener’s head and reign as a fan favorite at their energetic live shows, while “21” is a wild ride celebrating the ease of youth. Touching ballads like “Last To Know”, “Daughter” and “The One That Got Away” present an even more vulnerable facet, reaching straight for the listener’s heart with yearning lyrics, while tracks like “Addicted To Your Love” and “Unchain My Heart” celebrate love, youth and the joy of being naïve.

NESTOR on their new masterpiece:
“The album Teenage Rebel takes place in the glory days when we were young, confident and the future was filled with endless possibilities but also how we reflect on these days today. In many ways it’s the sequel to Kids in a ghost town and we can’t wait for you to hear it.”
