Finnish Rockers GENTLE SAVAGE Reveal Story Behind of Upcoming Single ‘Fuel My Fire’

GENTLE SAVAGE will release their brand new single ‘Fuel My Fire’ on March 27th!

Today the band’s songwriter and vocalist/guitarist Tornado Bearstone reveals the story behind the track:

“LET’S GET HEATED!
Sitting at home ‘couch jamming’ songwriter Tornado Bearstone was experimenting with an alternate tuned guitar. The main riff and especially the rhythm of the chorus kinda shouted out; ‘C’MON, FUEL MY FIRE!’.
In a situation like this there was no other choice but to write a song around that phrase. After that first phrase the song pretty much wrote itself causing infectious rise of spirits when played for the first time at the band rehearsals.”

Here’s the chorus:
“C’mon, fuel my fire. Get yourself some rock’n roll!
C’mon, breathe desire. More, more, more…”

Tornado adds:
“The chorus sums it up and on a certain level tells the whole story in a few sentences. But the full narrative is a bit deeper. It seems like the teller has fallen in love and is inviting the loved one to join on a mission to heat things up.
Could it also be that there’s been some time spent apart and that’s causing a little bit of confusion in the tellers mind…? For better or worse we all do know what mental and/or physical Love can do. It heats you up. Period.”

Pre-save the single at https://push.fm/ps/fuelmyfire

With a title like ’Fuel My Fire’ what can you expect from a Rock tune? In this case you’ll get a tight and melodic firecracker for Rock and Metal enthusiasts. With a touch of Classic Rock mixed with a modern metallish sound of alternate tuned guitars this Hard Rock tune was the obvious choice to introduce the new line-up in it’s full power and blaze.

The cover art was sketched by vocalist Tornado Bearstone and created by his trusted graphic artist Vin Valentino. There was a lot of emotion put into that one single picture. And that is exactly what the band was looking for; a continuum of what’s been released before, now with even more power and emotion in it. New music and the cover art reflects the band’s state of mind; a well self-esteemed group of musicians writing and performing music straight from the heart.

Inside the band the new members positive energy combined with old members’ strong attitude makes everything feel solid, easy and flowing.

More news coming soon!!

Finnish Sludge-Doom metal band EARTHBLOOD is set to release their second EP titled ‘Witchburner’ on April 18th 2024 via Inverse Records. The Finns seem to be quite productive while it’s been only half a year since their critically acclaimed debut EP ‘Primal Fury‘.

The first single “Sons of Heavy Rain” taken from the upcoming second EP is more melodic than its predecessor, but the soundscape remains the same. The fuzz guitar rumbles, the dirty bass growls and the drums beat like thunder.

French EVENTIDE – Feat. Members of EPITAPHE – Announce Debut Album “Waterline”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on March 12, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: EVENTIDE. Leave a comment

French drone-ambient entity EVENTIDE, featuring members of acclaimed progressive death-doom metal act EPITAPHE will release their debut album “Waterline” on April 11th 2024 via Aesthetic Death.

The album’s title track is now streaming HERE.

EVENTIDE and “Waterline” are both somewhat spontaneous and unplanned, both borne into existence out of a necessity to find an outlet for a diversifying creative flow.

Consisting of members of the French progressive death metal act, EPITAPHE, it is easy to see how EVENTIDE has become a continuation and flow of their sounds and directionality, a creative space and capacity for their desire to evolve all the many different sounds and ideas which overspill from that which they do with EPITAPHE.

In fact, it was during the EPITAPHE recording sessions of “II” that the band had such a wealth of ideas for their tracks that EVENTIDE was spontaneously created to bring those ideas to life. How intrinsically linked both bands are becomes apparent in the opening track, which starts with a chord progression that was developed during the recording sessions for the track “Melancholia” from “II”.

As an album itself “Waterline” is a beautiful meandering journey.
The album grew out of long improvised rehearsals, mixing modular synthesizers, analog and digital effects, saxophone and guitar. EVENTIDE were able to draw on their love of jazz, drone, ambient and electronic music, and then using shapes, textures and timbres to craft and carve streams of constantly morphing atmosphere.

The music feels seamless – but still covers much ground, with the listener often unaware of these morphing shifts, just blissfully taking the flow of the album as it evolves, unfolds and cycles through eerie and ethereal sonorities.

“Waterline” was recorded live (except for the title track and very few overdubs) and the band have had the opportunity to develop and express these ideas live through their involvement with the Collectif Eptagon in Grenoble.

For the physical edition of “Waterline” the band have gathered the great help of Stefan Thanneur for the visuals, it was recorded and mixed at Mémoire Mécanique Studio (France) by Mathieu Gaud (recording) & James Leonard (additional recording & mixing), and the album was mastered by Greg Chandler at Priory Recording Studios (UK).

Source influences include Sunn O))), Ulver, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze and Portico Quartet.

Tracklist:

01. Eventide
02. Waterline
03. Adrift
04. Sphere

Pujus of Jukra‘s first single, “Close Enough”, from their upcoming album ”Tree Wishes”, offers a tongue-in-cheek, surrealist narrative about the struggles of songwriting. Departing from traditional rhythms and structures, the track delves into the frustration and agony of creative endeavors, where perfection often remains just out reach. With quirky melodies and gritty guitar riffs, the song encapsulates a chaotic yet compelling journey through the creative process.

Following the release of their most brutal, vicious critically acclaimed album, 2023’s Negative Energy, UK alt-metal force VEXED returns with an official video for its most poignant offering, “It’s not the end”. This title is a tribute to a deceased loved one, acknowledging struggles in the grieving process.

VEXED have received incredible praise from national and international press for Negative Energy. Top nods include being named one of the best albums of 2023 by Metal Hammer UK, the anthem “Anti-Fetish” airing on BBC’s Radio 1 Rock Show and SiriusXM Liquid Metal, and “Trauma Euphoria” being spun on Kerrang! Radio’s Fresh Blood show. Don’t miss these rising upstarts – check out the new video for “It’s not the end” below and join VEXED on the road this March and April!

Megan Targett on “It’s not the end”:
“How do you carry on living when someone you love dies? The grieving process knows no concept of time, and death becomes the sole point of reference to navigate life. ‘It’s not the end’ pays tribute to those we have deeply loved and lost, while also acknowledging the pain and loneliness that accompany those beautiful memories.”

Order Negative Energy NOW

Negative Energy achieves pinnacle musicianship and gripping, profound and brave lyricism. Instead of opting for forced positivity like many of their contemporaries, the Hertfordshire three-piece channel every ounce of their “negative energy” into these 13 tracks – recharging themselves for an uphill battle.  Negative Energy proves itself as a stunning, devastating musical conduit – ventilating the band’s pain-stricken burdens and breathing life into their fresh approach, delivered with a vengeance.
