Austin, TX-based alternative metal/rock unit FIRE FROM THE GODS have announced the release of a digital deluxe version of their acclaimed 2022 album SOUL REVOLUTION via Better Noise Music. Due May 31, SOUL REVOLUTION DELUXE – THE COLLABS version will include five new tracks: a cover of Rage Against The Machine’s “Guerilla Radio” and four refreshed fan-favorite tracks with featured guests including Nate Vickers, Corey Glover of Living Colour, Yung Mo$h, and Jayden Panesso of Sylar. The track was produced by FIRE FROM THE GODS drummer Richard Wicander, with mastering completed by Howie Weinberg (U2, Smashing Pumpkins) and Will Borza (Papa Roach, Deftones). “Soul Revolution (feat. Yung Mo$h)” sums up the band’s compelling message that we are responsible for a change and on the brink of a revolution, one which begins in the soul. New Zealand’s JUST ONE FIX Drop Hectic New Single ‘Your Own God Now’

Kiwi thrash titans Just One Fix have unleashed, Your Own God Now, the second single from the forthcoming EP, ‘Submit or Death’.

The song follows on from the monstrous Gods & Devils and is a blistering aural barrage that poses questions about Immortality and explores the reality of the burden of being alive.

“Human beings weren’t meant to go around for more than a hundred years, the thought of centuries of existence to me is mortifying and that’s what we are talking about here,” states vocalist Riccardo Ball.

“Your Own God Now” also brings to the fore the riff writing and frenetic playing of guitarist Sharne Scarborough, “The fretwork is a display of technical prowess, with blistering speed and intricate phrasing that adds a melodic touch” is how freelance studio musician and sound engineer Andre Avanessian described it.

Add the engine room of Ant Ward and Ross Curtain in the rhythm section “Your Own God Now” is the follow up that fans of “Gods & Devils deserve.

RISE OF KRONOS Release New Single ‘Hateful Fury’, German Tour Kicks Off

Greek mythology-inspired death metallers RISE OF KRONOS are back and apparently have big plans for 2024. First of all, the quartet have released a brand new song, “Hateful Fury”, which, on closer inspection, isn’t so brand new: The track comes from the band’s self-produced 2011 debut, where they was still known as “Surface”. The instant headbang classic has now been re-recorded to unleash its full potential with a contemporary, brutal sound and a straightforward arrangement. “Hateful Fury” is now available on all major download and streaming platforms.

In addition, the band has announced a whole series of live dates in Germany, including several shows in autumn as co-headliners on a club tour together with the deathers from Torturized. You can find the confirmed dates below.

MY DYING BRIDE Release New Single And Video ‘The 2nd of Three Bells’

British death-doom legends, My Dying Bride, recently announced their 15th studio album, A Mortal Binding, which is set to be released on 19th April. Today, the Yorkshire based sextet have revealed the second single from the record. The solemn, mournful track titled ‘The 2nd of Three Bells’ comes accompanied by a richly gothic video directed by Daniel Gray.

A Mortal Binding, the much-anticipated follow-up to The Ghost of Orion (2020) finds the Yorkshire-based quintet delighting in anxiety, loss, and toil to resplendent effect. From the raw distress of ‘Her Dominion’ and twisted horror of ‘Thornwyck Hymn’ to the funerary violins of the 11-minute monolith ‘The Apocalyptist’ and the classic-feeling ‘The 2nd of Three Bells’, A Mortal Binding is pinnacle My Dying Bride. If Songs of Darkness, Words of Light (2004) elevated the band to new heights and A Map of All Our Failures (2012) expanded upon the group’s mid-tens grandeur, then A Mortal Binding stages My Dying Bride’s next exultant phase of elegiac misery.

My Dying Bride hired The Ghost of Orion studio wizard Mark Mynett to produce, mix, and master A Mortal Binding. The group holed up at Mynett’s Mynetaur Productions (Paradise Lost, Rotting Christ) in Manchester, UK, where they tracked the album consecutively from July to September 2023.

For over three decades, My Dying Bride from West Yorkshire have been the voice of the hopeless and broken, combining haunting sounds with crushing misery and melancholy. With their signature sound they’ve shaped the doom metal scene like barely any other act and integrated both soft violin melodies and violent death metal growls into their music, whilst always staying strictly loyal to themselves. And since the early Nineties, the band’s masterminds and founding members Andrew Craighan and Aaron Stainthorpe forged beautiful grief into studio albums with songs of epic length. BAT Announce New Album “Under The Crooked Claw”, Share First Single ‘Rite For Exorcism’

Richmond, Virginia metal-punk trio BAT has been delivering their own blood-spattered horror since ascending from the underground a decade ago on a dark, leather-winged trajectory. The brainchild of MUNICIPAL WASTE guitarists Ryan Waste & Nick Poulos, BAT leans heavily on the dirtier side of speed metal. On May 17th, the band welcomes the release of their second full-length album Under The Crooked Claw via Nuclear Blast Records.

Jam-packed with tight, concise songs loaded with punchy choruses and lightning-laced leads, each of the 13 tracks offers a new horror short story mixing the perfect blend of heavy metal, punk, and rock ‘n’ roll or as Waste coins it “primitive heavy speed”.

The band offers the first single entitled, ‘Rite For Exorcism‘ along with a video clip directed by Norman Cabrera, produced by Maya Kay, and cinematography by Rob Lucas at Wolfpack Studios.

BAT‘s Ryan Waste states,
“This record came together during dark times and its aggression is surely a reflection of that. Nick, Chris, and I hammered out song after song in a grimy, mold-ridden warehouse, turning our anger at the state of the world into what became ‘Under the Crooked Claw’. To set the tone for the album, I called upon legendary Italian horror maestro Fabio Frizzi to compose an intro, just before BAT’s raw force assaults your ears. While simultaneously working on a heavy metal horror script with Norman Cabrera, I shared some of the new BAT songs with him. With our shared taste in film and vision, we devised two video concepts for the upcoming record based on my lyrics. The first offering is our twist on a tale of an exorcism gone awry, that Norman completely nailed to the cross.”

The power trio, completed by drummer Chris Marshall, decamped to Philadelphia in June 2021 where Arthur Rizk recorded the basic tracks for Under The Crooked Claw. Yavé Rust tracked lead guitars and vocals later when the band was back in Richmond, ultimately to be mixed by Rizk and mastered by Joel Grind. The artwork for the album was inked by Brandon Holt and colored by Margaret Rolicki.
