With their latest album ‘Force of Nature’ soaring to an impressive #36 in the Official UK Top 40 Midweek Charts, THESE WICKED RIVERS are defying the odds without major label support. Their heartfelt new video for ‘The Family’ is a tribute to their loyal fanbase and supporters, capturing the essence of their journey so far.

Frontman John Hartwell expresses gratitude, stating, “‘The Family’ is a deep acknowledgment of those who have propelled us forward – our devoted These Wicked Rivers family and fans worldwide. The music video is a jubilant celebration of our collective journey.”

Lead guitarist Arran Day adds:
“In a dark and cruel world we feel very honoured to provide an escape through music for our loyal followers. The chorus of this song reflects everything this band is about, and the video captures the spirit of our special relationship with the Rivers family perfectly.  We filmed it at our inaugural ‘Family Gathering’, a celebration of the spirit of this band and we’re delighted to finally share it with the world now”.

As anticipation builds for their sold-out album celebration show in Matlock Bath later this month, and ticket sales surge for their upcoming UK tour, These Wicked Rivers are poised to dominate 2024. The overwhelming response to ‘Force Of Nature’ sets a promising tone for their trajectory.

Described by Classic Rock Magazine as “The sound of what might’ve happened if Clutch got a bit stoned with Audioslave and Zakk Wylde – and then jammed late into the night”, the band blend subtle blues touches with a hard rock edge, adding soulful vocals to create a sound that is as dramatic as it is exhilarating.

The group garnered widespread acclaim with their debut EP ‘The Enemy’ in 2015, followed by the equally impressive ‘II’ in 2017, which solidified their presence in the burgeoning UK rock scene and earned them airplay on Planet Rock radio. Their debut album ‘Eden’, released in May 2020, further elevated their reputation with heightened critical acclaim. With their latest release ‘Force of Nature’, they’ve once again set a new standard, demonstrating their ongoing evolution and musical prowess.

Preaching a simple gospel of ‘peace, love and lampshades’– a nod to their intimate stage setup – the band has captivated audiences across the UK, sharing stages with renowned acts like Hayseed Dixie, Those Damn Crows, and Phil Campbell & The Bastard Sons. Now signed to Fat Earth Records, they’re primed to make their mark globally, with a European tour slated for April and a Planet Rock-sponsored UK tour in May/June.

SETYØURSAILS Drop Second Single + Official Music Video ‘Lately’

Germany’s hottest modern metalcore unit, SETYØURSAILS, tears up the scene once again! After extensive touring with Annisokay, Emil Bulls, Cypecore and Lord Of The Lost, and last year’s outstanding festival performances at Summer Breeze and Fullforce, the Cologne based outfit recently announced the new studio album and drops its brand-new second single, “Lately”, today.

Their second full-length via Napalm Records, entitled Bad Blood, will be released on April 12, 2024 and features 10 hard-hitting tracks, shaking the listener to the core. Cut from Bad Blood, “Lately” drops with an official music video and showcases the versatile vocal expressions of frontwoman Jules, ranging from vicious screams over powerful singing to compressed whispering, while raging drums and heavy guitar support the catchy refrain.

Around the 2021 release of their label debut, Nightfall, Germany’s Fuze magazine dubbed “SETYØURSAILS […] as the most promising newcomer of the German metalcore and post-hardcore scene.” To celebrate what’s to come, SETYØURSAILS will hit the road on a German co-headline tour alongside Rising Insane, kicking off in April.

Vocalist Jules Mitch on “Lately”:
“‘Lately’ shows the intimate, vulnerable side of us that we have never revealed before. Coming to terms with your demons is never easy, but writing a ballad about it and publishing it is even harder. I hope that people find themselves in this song and understand that they are not alone.”

Jules Mitch says about Bad Blood:
“With our new album Bad Blood, we are ushering in a new era in our band’s history. This album is louder, more aggressive and more honest than anything we’ve ever done before. It is another step towards self-discovery and healing. It covers various topics such as betrayal, mental health, but also sex and a lot of complex emotions. Topics we have never addressed before. We are ready for a change, for a new chapter. A new opportunity for further development.”

Pre-Order Bad Blood HERE

Prepare for a sonic onslaught as these German metalcore sensations gear up to unleash their second studio album, Bad Blood – promising a fierce and intense masterclass in modern metalcore.

Bad Blood tracklist:
01. Bad Blood
02. Best Of Me
03. T.F.M.F.
04. Halo
05. Lately
06. Dangerous
07. Bad Company
08. In My Head
09. Heart Attack
10. Eternally

Jumping right into the pit with hard-hitting single “Bad Blood”, SETYØURSAILS teams up with Zebrahead’s vocalist Adrian Estrella and showcases no mercy as buzzing guitar lines underlined by modern electronic melodies and energetic screams build up an unstoppable energy, soon topped by a top-notch intense breakdown. Followed by the former standalone single “Best of Me” alongside an official music video, it represents the new chapter of the unit and pushes the boundaries of different genres while vocalist Jules Mitch skillfully unites both beautifully melodic and fiercely heavy passages. Created to play on repeat, the highly-infectious song “Bad Company” is dominated by smashing electronic beats combined with brutally melodic guitar lines and highlighted by a ground shaking breakdown. With “Heart Attack”, SETYØURSAILS lyrically share their softer side by addressing personal conflicts and mental health concerns, and wrap the songs in a strikingly melodic atmosphere.

TÝR Unleash ‘Hammered’ Video / Single from Upcoming Full-Length Album

Faroe Islands-based Viking metal icons TÝR today unleash their latest single and accompanying video for “Hammered.” The track comes by way of the group’s ninth full-length studio album, Battle Ballads, set for release on April 12th via Metal Blade Records!

When TÝR teamed up with the Symphony Orchestra of the Faroe Islands on February 8th, 2020, to record the double-disc/DVD release A Night At The Nordic House, founding frontman Heri Joensen was thrilled to bring together two of the music forms he loves most – folk and classical – into his band’s unorthodox form of music. But at the time, he couldn’t have imagined what a profound impact the collaboration would have on his musical vision, and how much it would influence and inform the album he would write a few years later.

“There’s a reason classical music is called classical,” Joensen says. “It’s the classical way of doing it. And it creates these epic sounds that fit in perfectly with the kind of metal we do in TÝR. So, there’s full orchestration on all of the new songs.”

Watch TÝR‘s previously released video for “Axes” at THIS LOCATION.

With Battle Ballads, TÝR has crafted an album that resounds with their trademark Viking metal sound — a crushing, soaring, batch of classical embellished songs that conjure images of galloping steeds, clashing swords, and hard-fought victories. At the same time, the band has experimented with new writing styles and musical techniques and created songs that are structurally simpler, yet musically more variegated. For Joensen, it’s a clear illustration of how he plans to continue exploring different approaches in the future while staying true to the spirit of thunderous Viking metal.

“We consciously decided to make this a more direct album with songs that are easier for listeners to get right away than some of the stuff on our last album, or maybe even on our 2006 album Ragnarok, which was very progressive,” says Joensen. “With Battle Ballads, there are progressive elements here and there, but we tried to keep the songs based on one or two musical ideas each, and work on everything from there. So, in a way, it’s more concise than our last album, but it’s more epic because of the symphonic elements.”

There’s no escaping the masterful blend of melody and savagery on Battle Ballads straight from album opener and latest single, “Hammered,” which funnels infectious riffs and searing licks through a variety of rhythm and tempo changes.

Joensen comments, “The song begins with the hammering of metal against metal, forging, then melodic riffing over a simple but classical chord progression that evolves throughout the song. Driving drums, heavy metal over a symphonic soundscape. An adventurous backdrop to the forging of weapons of war, blades of battle. This used to be in the past but now it’s here with a fast-paced singalong chorus. Thoughts on the apparent inevitability of war and our reaction to it. Balancing our enthusiasm against our defeatism.”

As much as TÝR would have liked to write, rehearse, and record with a symphony, schedule conflicts made it impossible to have the band and classical musicians to be in the same place at the same time. So the band did the next best thing. With Joensen at the helm, they wrote ten thunderous songs for Battle Ballads, then the bandleader sent the compositions to a Danish colleague Lars Winther living in England, who added the orchestral samples, paying close attention to the tone and tempo of the songs so the violins, violas, cellos, woodwinds, and horns fit complimented the traditional rock instruments. When the samples were all in place the album sounded impressive, but the tones weren’t perfectly blended. So, TÝR sent the album to veteran producer Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, The Black Dahlia Murder, Amaranthe) in Denmark to put together the final mix.

FM Release ‘Out Of The Blue’ Single from Forthcoming Album

Old Habits Die Hard is the fourteenth studio album from the legendary British AOR rock band, FM. The album is released by Frontiers Records on Friday May 3, 2024, and available to pre-order from https://orcd.co/oldhabitsdiehard.

The first single “Out of The Blue” is released Wednesday March 6th and is available on all streaming platforms from https://orcd.co/fmoutoftheblue.

Watch the official “Out of The Blue” music video on YouTube HERE.

Released to coincide with the band’s 40th Anniversary (1984 – 2024), vocalist, guitarist and founding member Steve Overland says, “the new album encompasses the best melodic elements of the band’s illustrious 40-year spanning career.

‘We really looked at what made the most popular FM albums great and tried to focus on that,” says Steve about the new album Old Habits Die Hard.

FM are known by many for their big choruses, twin lead guitars and Steve Overland’s intimate, yet powerful vocals, and clean guitar sound. Following 2022’s Thirteen album, Old Habits Die Hard was delayed slightly by keyboard player Jem Davis’ cancer diagnosis (thankfully he’s now received the all-clear) and then by the sudden passing of FM’s founding guitarist Chris Overland (Steve’s brother), which hit the band hard.

“Chris’s passing came out of the blue and it was devastating,” says Steve. To add insult to injury, close friend of the band and long-time collaborator of Jim Kirkpatrick, guitarist Bernie Marsden passed away just two days after Chris.”

The tragedies that plagued the band through the recording process only reinforced FM’s resolve and desire to make the best album that they could to represent their 40 years in the business. The new album is also a fitting tribute to Chris Overland.

Over the past 12 months, during their extensive touring schedule, FM produced the album themselves and recorded the bulk of it at their own Dale View and Electric Pepperland recording studios.

Opening track and first single “Out of The Blue” was a song that originated from keyboard player Jem Davis. Says Jem, “the band love the music of Toto and Foreigner and so I tried to put those influences into one track. ‘Once Steve got involved and started singing it, I knew that we were onto something special.”

“Out Of the Blue is a song that old school FM fans will really latch on to,” says Steve. “So far, the reaction to the track has been amazing.”

The album continues with the rocker “Don’t Need Another Heartache” an AC/DC meets Foreigner anthem with an infectious chorus. ‘This song will probably be in the live set for the 40th anniversary tour as it’s one of our favourites from the album,” explains drummer and founder FM member, Pete Jupp.

“Whatever It Takes” and “No Easy Way Out” are typical FM melodic tracks and could fit seamlessly on to one of the bands earlier classic albums. Bass player and founder member Merv Goldsworthy explains, “No Easy way Out has the big typical FM chorus. It’s a massive hook. The kind of thing that we’ve become known for. It’s one of my favourites on the album.”

The heavier side of the album is represented by “Lost,” “Another Day in My World,” and “Leap of Faith.” Whilst more hard hitting, these songs embody the catchy melodic choruses that FM are known for.

“Cut Me Loose,” “California,” and “Blue Sky Mind” are poppier, more feelgood tracks. “Blue Sky Mind” was conceived again by keyboard player Jem Davis who originally wrote the song about his experience with his cancer diagnosis. ‘That song really was therapy for me. It was important that I got it out of my system and into music,” says Jem.

“Black Water” is a brooding, bluesy track that grows and grows. ‘This is a real favourite of mine,” says FM guitarist, Jim Kirkpatrick. “I could hear Brian May playing the guitar solo, so I pulled out my Brian May signature guitar and tried to do my best impersonation of him. Hopefully I got somewhere close.”

Track by Track

Out of the Blue
 – “I wrote this song in Lanzarote, says FM’s keyboardist, Jem Davis. “It’s about a guy who is completely happy in his own little world, and suddenly his partner declares she’s not, and is calling it a day! This comes to him out of the blue, but he’s not going to give in and lose her without a fight.”

Don’t Need Another Heartache – “This is one of the bluesier tracks on the album, kind of early Foreigner/Bad Company vibe,” says Steve Overland. “It’s about a guy that’s been in a bad relationship for too long, but he’s finally had enough.”

No Easy Way Out – “This was one of the first songs written for the album,” says Steve. “It’s about a guy that’s been down on his luck and knows it won’t be easy but is determined to pick himself up.”

Lost
 – This is a real AOR groove rocker,” says Steve. “It’s about someone who had it all, lost it, and wants it all again.”

Whatever It Takes – “This is the ballad of the album, really,” says Steve. “It’s a song about a guy who worships a girl from a distance but doesn’t have the words to tell her… a familiar story.”

Black Water – “This initially had the working title of Havana, says Jem. “It turned out to be about a someone from Deep South, USA. No matter how far he travelled, the strong pull of home was always going to draw him back.”

Cut Me Loose – “This song is about a relationship that’s faded,” reflects Steve. “It’s time to move on, but how hard that can be if you’ve been together for a long time?”

Leap Of Faith – “This one is the opposite to Cut Me Loose,” explains Steve. “it’s a great riff to open the track. The story tells how if you lose the spark, and you both want to, you can get it back if you both want it.”

California – Musically, I was looking for an old school Indiscreet vibe in the style of Other Side Of Midnight or American Girls,” says Merv. “As a kid I’d watch the Beverly Hillbillies and 77 Sunset Strip. It all seemed so different to where I grew up in the North of England. Sun, beaches, surfing, great weather and, of course, all the great movie studios. I wasn’t even sure it was real or make believe.

Another Day in My World – “This tells the story of a guy who has always gone unnoticed and has spent his life in the shadows,” explains Steve. “Suddenly, he wants to change that and make his mark in life.”

Blue Sky Mind
 – “No one knows how they will react when being diagnosed with cancer, “Says Jem. “When I was diagnosed January 2023, I found my way of dealing with it was just to stay positive. Nothing you can do. I received the all-clear in September. It’s about staying positive and leaving the neg behind. I like this being the last track. It’s a positive message to everyone dealing with cancer!”

The wait is almost over! KK’S PRIEST – featuring Judas Priest alum and GRAMMY Award winning/nominated musicians K.K. Downing (guitar) and Tim “Ripper” Owens (vocals) – will kick off their very first USA headline tour tomorrow at a sold out show in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Along for the wild ride is L.A. Guns and Napalm Records label mates BURNING WITCHES, so get your tickets now and don’t miss this stellar line-up!

In celebration of tomorrow’s tour kick off, KK’S PRIEST have dropped a dark, visually eerie new video for the menacing The Sinner Rides Again track “Keeper Of The Graves”. The high energy track provides a taste of what fans can expect on stage this month!

From May on, KK’S PRIEST will play their first ever headline tour and shows in Europe, as well as several festival appearances, including legendary Wacken Open Air!

K.K. Downing says:
“The Keeper of The Graves is the defender, the sentinel and the protector of all of the dead. This ageless being, throughout many centuries, has fought many battles with marauders that seek to prey on the souls of the buried and entombed. But alas, it would be inevitable that one day the kiss of Judas would land on his lips and the cold steel of the evil ones would thrust forward and penetrate the heart drawing the blood of death. As the moon turns red, no one will be saved. Who will avenge the Keeper of The Graves?”

This past September, KK’S PRIEST unveiled their blistering sophomore offering, The Sinner Rides Again, to rave reviews! Blabbermouth dubbed it “an absolutely ripping metal record”, while Paste stated, “…with all respect to Rob Halford and co., nothing they’ve produced in recent years feels as dynamic and as heavy as the material that their former guitarist has been forging with his project KK’S PRIEST.” The album debuted at #1 on the US Hard Music Albums chart, #3 on the Top New Artist Albums chart and #6 on the Current Rock Albums chart, as well as reaching several high chart entries in Europe. The Sinner Rides Again also landed at #6 on the end of year NACC Heavy radio chart, while resulting as one of the top spun albums of the year at Metal Contraband.

With The Sinner Rides Again, KK’S PRIEST double down on the ripping melodic force of their debut, Sermons Of The Sinner – which Metal Hammer UK dubbed “hugely enjoyable” and Metal Injection cited as boasting “catchy hooks and plenty of guitar wizardry”. The Sinner Rides Again wields nine tracks of pure hellfire, produced and written by Downing and mixed/mastered by Jacob Hansen. The celebrated new album is a call for the classics while speeding full force into the future, delivered by some of heavy metal’s most essential performers.

After German Power Prog Metal Act IVORY TOWER just recently unleashed a first track taken off their upcoming studio album, today, the band premieres a video clip for for their latest, furious new single “Heavy Ride”!

IVORY TOWER‘s sixth studio album, “Heavy Rain”, will be coming out as CD Digipak and digital formats on March 29, 2024 via Massacre Records, the pre-sale is available at: https://lnk.to/ivorytowerheavyrain

Following the previously-release single, “60 Seconds”, the band’s new track “Heavy Ride” is out now on all digital platforms at https://ivoryto wer.bfan.link/h eavyride, and what a heavy ride this song is! Watch the video clip premiering here:

Says IVORY TOWER vocalist,Francis Soto, about the new single:

“More and more people are living on the margins of society – without hope, without a perspective. In the end, it will be the “forgotten” who will stand up and fight against the system, because those who have nothing to lose can bring about change.”

As their forthcoming studio offering, “Heavy Rain”, will showcase, IVORY TOWER are masters of their craft, with a singer who can belt out cascading melodic passages as well as staccato vocals is just the cherry on top along with the spherical keyboard sounds, screaming guitar solos and the killer riffs this album has to offer! This is in-your-face metal, and the first album with Lord Francis Soto, who has joined the band as new vocalist in 2021! With his sense for great melodies and extraordinary vocal skills, he gives the tracks on “Heavy Rain” that unique something!

The new IVORY TOWER album was mixed by Jens Bogren & Alexander Backlund, and was mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios. The cover artwork was created by Frankey Efef-Media.
