CABAL have released a new rework of their song ”If I Hang, Let Me Swing’, which saw the band partner with Danish industrial-techno collective JOHN CXNNOR.

Having just returned from the European leg of their Magno Interitus headline tour, there’s no rest for the wicked for Danish deathcore maniacs CABAL. They’ve released a new rework of their song ‘‘If I Hang, Let Me Swing’, which saw the band partner with Danish industrial-techno collective JOHN CXNNOR. The result of this energetic collaboration sees the light of the day today. Listen to the song here: https://cabal.bfan.link/IIHLMS-RW

Singer Andreas Bjulver states:
“John Cxnnor are one of our favorite acts on the Danish scene, the way they manage to bridge the gap between electronic music and metal is truly impressive and since we’ve already collaborated with them on a bunch of tracks, having them do a complete rework of one seemed like a no brainer to us. We couldn’t be happier with the result, this is electronic music at it’s hardest and grittiest.”

PESTILENCE Replace Cover Artwork for Upcoming Best-of Album “Levels Of Perception”

Dutch death metal pioneers PESTILENCE announce new cover artwork for their re-recorded best-of album “Levels of Perception”, set to be released on Agonia Records on April 26th. The reasons behind the band’s decision have been laid out in a statement by frontman Patrick Mameli, and pertain to the partial use of artificial intelligence technology in creating the original artwork.

“First off, let me be absolutely clear about the fact that both band and record company still love the initial cover. Also, the artist that created the art, did not let the computer generate the picture. He used multiple methods to come to this result. So it’s not just AI in the real sense.

But the point I’m getting at, is this: I will not risk all the work we have put into this release, just to push the cover. We care a lot about our fans and we do not want this product to become unsuccessful just because we want to push our ideas regarding AI. We have always stood at the forefront of game, changing events within the death metal scene, whether it’s music or in this case, a cover.

Maybe the timing is not right just now, so we chose the middle way. This should make people more open to this monster of a release we have planned for y’all.

Peace,
Patrick”

The debut single for “Levels of Perception” will be released shortly.

Patrick Mameli – whose signature vocal, guitar and songwriting skills constitute the hallmark of PESTILENCE – finds “Levels of Perception” to be a testament to the band’s role in death metal’s progression. “I’ve always wanted to do a best-of album, because it would mean that I’ve achieved something in the past; something that still has its value today,” Mameli reflects. “To be able to choose from songs that I composed in the distant past, transporting them into the now, with the line-up of the recordings that consisted of Michiel van der Plicht (drums), Rutger van Noordenburg (guitar) and Joost van der Graaf (bass) – I found this to be of great value and sheer awesomeness.”

Re-recording of the tracks has not only managed to breathe new life into them – half thanks to new line-up, and other half by implementing subtle changes which reflect Mameli‘s matured vision and refined with years of experience aesthetic – but also sets them apart from cheap, unimaginative compilations, by unifying the album’s sound as befits a full-length release. “The album’s title is Levels of Perception. Why? Because this is what has happened with the songs,” Mameli explains. “Performed by different musicians, with their own views, musical abilities and interpretations, shining a new light on them. So here we are with new Levels of Perception.”

The drums for “Levels of Perception” were recorded by Michiel van der Plicht in 2021, during a live stream held in T Paard (The Hague, NL). “These recorded drum tracks were so awesome that we just had to use them, fine-tuning the guitars and bass,” Mameli comments. These and other re-recordings were done with Reaper behind the console at van der Plicht‘s own studio On Duty in Mijdrecht, NL. The latter engineered, mixed and mastered the album. “I’ve started to realize, after recording Exitivm, that when you can engineer, mix and master by yourself, the control over your own product is way bigger, through the honesty and passion for your own compositions; rather than hiring an engineer that has no feel for your music,” PESTILENCE’s frontman wraps up.

PESTILENCE was established in the Netherlands in 1986 and is considered to be a progressive death metal phenom, labeled on the same genre-defying scale as Death, Cynic and Atheist. The group is led by founder, guitarist and mastermind Patrick Mameli, who’s been the band’s binding factor through two breakups and reunions. Both a reinvention and a confirmation of everything the band has been standing for since 1986, PESTILENCE is more than ever breaking new grounds and exploring the further outposts of extreme metal on “Exitivm” (2021) – the last album, which landed on several Billboard charts (most notably including Billboard 200). In 2023, the band remastered & reissued its classic catalog, and announced “Portals” to be the title of its next studio album, which is currently in the works.

DAEDRIC Releases ‘Alchemy’ (Swarm Remix), “Mortal Deluxe” Album Out March 22nd

Posted by tarjavirmakari on March 6, 2024

If you thought Daedric‘s release of Mortal was complete back in August of 2023, strap in. The ride is about to get a rocky. Daedric announces their Mortal Deluxe album goes live on March 22.

While the original was a full blown high octane ride the deluxe edition adds electrifying remixes from both SWARM, known for his dark EDM, and Voicians, known for his Drum & Bass Rock creations, as well as an electrifying reimagined version of “Only.” “I’m very grateful to SWARM and Voicians for their incredible remixes of ‘Alchemy’ and ‘Coldharbour,'” explains Daedric. “I really feel that it completes my vision for “Mortal” as a full-spectrum musical journey. From Metal, Electronic, Pop and Rock. It’s all there.”

Purchase/Stream: https://link.fixtmusic.com/alchemy_SWARM

Dropping today is the “Alchemy” (SWARM Remix). Brace yourselves for an exhilarating sonic experience as Daedric‘s brutal vocals take center stage throughout this Electro, Industrial, EDM infused single. The ominous track, as only SWARM could create it is a fierce and energetic homage to the original. The collaboration between these two forces results in a track that is both dynamic and relentless, showcasing the perfect blend of rock and EDM and threatening to crack a hole in the space time continuum in its totality.

“Mortal Deluxe is the final quest. An immense experience the listener deserves and a rousing conclusion to my debut installment,” says Daedric.

The Texas-based metal venture Daedric‘s original debut album Mortal was a feral offering to the altar of Electronic Metal. From the triumphant entry of “Wretched” the band burst onto the scene with a stunning vocal performance from from Hope in their alluring music video for the debut single. “Wretched” set the stage for their next singles, the alluring yet brutal “Sepulchre” and the heavy industrial  “Dawnbreaker” each with their own accompanying music video setting the tone and quality the band wanted to share. The album was produced by Geoff Rockwell (Memphis May Fire, Crown the Empire) and Clay Schroeder, with all but “Wretched” being mixed by renowned mixer Joey Sturgis, also known for his work with Of Mice & Men, Asking Alexandria, and We Came As Romans.

Whether you’re an Elder Scrolls fan or just a music lover, Daedric leads you on a quest of apparent destiny with music that ranges from unrelenting breakdowns, incorporating hypnotic beats and cinematic transitions, coupled with vocals that range from ethereal to brutal, savage to soulful. The album performs a delicate dance between ethereal and ominous, delicate and harsh building up to new heights with each new single Mortal encapsulates the human condition in its entirety. We are flawed, we are brief, but we are vital.

Singles from the album have already gained traction across multiple platforms including Spotify features on multiple official playlists, such as: All New Metal, New Blood, Heavy Queens, Epic & Melodic, Industrial Metal, The Core, Alternative Metal, Kickass Metal, Rock Hard, All New Rock, Progressive Metal, misfits 2.0 and more. Other notable editorial support has been seen from VEVO across Rock and Metal music video playlists on VEVO’s YouTube & App playlists as well as VEVO’s linear TV programming channels. The project has also quickly resonated with an international audience with strong support from the Eastern Europe platforms VK and Yandex supporting multiple tracks across the platform’s respective Rock and Metal playlists.

Daedric has collaborated with labelmates Celldweller, Fight The Fade, Andromida, Void Chapter, and Kaixo for a gamut of well received singles that have also pulled in more fans across the world. After dropping a variety of singles, music videos, and collaborations Daedric has amassed over 300K followers across all platforms, scored mentions on Louder Sound, Punk Rocker, Metal Hammer, and Metal Injection. They’ve also gained notoriety on the Daedric Official Tik Tok Account covering the hit single “This Is Halloween.”

Upon Daedric‘s inception in Late 2020, they had a goal to create a dark Synthwave project that established a modern fantasy element that was lacking across the dystopian-filled genre. With Geoff’s captivating production, Clay’s syncopated riffs and Kristyn’s hypnotic vocal delivery, “Wretched” was forged and set forth an inevitable sound. More importantly, it opened the doors for true exploration. Over the next year Daedric would expand their writing across multiple genres, blending metal drums and industrial grooves with an amalgamation of synth, guitar and orchestration, all leading to a diverse soundscape to showcase Kristyn’s immense vocal range.

Daedric explains, “Our goal was to create something unique and captivating, yet grounded in raw human emotion and I truly believe we accomplished that.” Mortal is not a predictable journey, much like the quests of Skyrim and Oblivion, it is bound by a fatal pulse. We are truly alive. We are ‘Mortal.'”

TLG/Virgin Music Group recording artists Rick Monroe & The Hitmen continue to gather momentum for their latest single “Worth The Hurt” (currently bubbling under at #52 on last week’s SMR chart while maintaining its top-10 standing among the Most Adds of active/mainstream rock in secondary markets). To support its upward climb, the group is pleased to premiere the official music video TODAY exclusively through Rock Rage Radio.

Additionally, “Worth The Hurt” has been made available in Dolby Atmos, a new spacial audio technology that allows you to “hear music like you’ve never heard it before” and deliver the ULTIMATE listening experience for fans and audiophiles to enjoy.

Watch the video on Rock Rage Radio at https://rockrageradio.com

“Even though it adds several steps to the mixing and mastering process, getting the track on Atmos was important to us,” says Monroe.”We wanted fans to know… just like the single says, that they are ‘Worth The Hurt.’ We aren’t doing our work as a band if we aren’t striving to provide the best quality music we can to our fans. That’s our job,” he says.”Now, it’s the fan’s job to go out and give it a listen!”

Co-written by Monroe, Jared Weeks and Scott Wilson of Saving Abel, and multi-Grammy and multi-Dove award-winning producer and composer, Skidd Mills (Skillet, Third Day, Saliva, Katie Arminger), who also produced the track, “Worth The Hurt” is an angsty, uptempo banger that highlights the addictive qualities and unhealthy co-dependence of a love gone wrong.

Stream / download “Worth The Hurt” at https://ffm.to/worththehurt

The single serves as a tantalizing preview of the exceptional content that awaits fans in the group’s highly anticipated, full-length vinyl project, SIX GUN SOUL, scheduled for release on April 12. This album features previously acclaimed singles such as “World’s Gone Crazy” and “God’s Ear”, the latter earning praise from discerning critics like Robert K. Oermann (Music Row) and respected musicians, including Shawn Drover (formerly of Megadeth).

About Rick Monroe & The Hitmen:

World-class entertainers Rick Monroe & The Hitmen have no desire to trace the trail of every trend. Instead, they serve up a “poly-jam-orous” recipe they call “Blue Jean Rock” –artistically organic and spiced with a heavy blend of their musical influences to reflect country sensibilities with a rock and roll beat. As a result, the group has built a solid legion of fans across the globe and recently surpassed over 4.3 MILLION logged views on YouTube and over one MILLION captured streams without the benefit of ever appearing on a core editorial playlist.

Monroe brings his music and a magnetic presence wherever he goes and is no stranger to the stage: he’s performed in 17 countries – and every U.S. state including Washington DC & Puerto Rico. The seven-time Jägermeister Country Brand Ambassador has toured with Queensrӱche, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, Lee Bice, Aaron Lewis, Eli Young Band, Pat Green, and Randy Houser, as well as has opened for Country Music Legends like Charlie Daniels Band, Dwight Yoakam, Travis Tritt, Patty Loveless and more. He has entertained the USO, AFE, U.S. troops in Vietnam, and former Soviet President, Mikhail Gorbachev. His brother called him “Elvis Gump” because of all the amazing people and places his career has led him.

For those unfamiliar with his music, Rick advises them to come to the show for a good time and to be ready for “just about anything.” “I love to play,” the singer notes. “And I want everyone to play along. I like to think of my shows as an interactive sport”–one that he will now play with the help of his permanent bandmates, Bobby Perkins (guitar), Alan Beeler (bass), and Jason Bohl (drums), also known as The Hitmen because “they kill it every single night!”

Rick enjoys sponsorships and endorsements with NOS/Full Throttle energy drink, Number Juan Tequila, Tony Chachare’s® Famous Creole Cuisine, Remington, GHS Strings, SE electronics, Roper Western Wear, Shubb Capos, Speakeasy Original, Westone Audio & Fishman Audio.

North Sea Echoes, the duo helmed by Fates Warning members Ray Alder and Jim Matheos, has released another single from their newly released debut album, ‘Really Good Terrible Things‘. Fans can check out the record’s fourth single, “Throwing Stones“, along with an accompanying animated video HERE.

On “Throwing Stones“, Alder shares, “This is a strange one. Some people have a fear of happiness. They feel that something painful always follows pleasure. So they’re sort of locked into this world where they try to feel nothing. It’s called Cherophobia.”

What press is saying about ‘Really Good Terrible Things‘:

“[Really Good Terrible Things] sounds more like the start of something thrillingly fresh and vital than the next chapter in a long-established, collaborative saga. A triumph for tenderness and finesse…” – Blabbermouth

“a force of nature in its own right, and is worthy of repeated listens from metalheads and non-metalheads alike.” – Sonic Perspectives

“wisdom and authenticity really shine here.” – The PROG Mind

“an album that rewards multiple listens and opens up new sonic moods and territories.” – Cryptic Rock

“neither good nor terrible. These songs are really great things.” – Progressive Music Planet

Ray Alder and Jim Matheos’ musical legacy is vast and lauded, both as collaborators and individuals. Alder has been the vocalist and main co-writer for prog metal heroes Fates Warning for the past 35 years. With them, he has recorded 10 albums between 1988 (No Exit) and 2020 (Long Day Good Night). Further rounding out his discography are seven albums with Redemption, two solo albums, and the band A-Z with Mark Zonder, which debuted in 2022.

Prolific and pioneering guitarist/producer Matheos is a co-founder of Fates Warning, the lineup debuting with 1984’s Night on Bröcken on Metal Blade. In addition to 13 albums with Fates, Matheos’ myriad other work includes several solo albums, four albums alongside former Dream Theater keyboardist Kevin Moore, under the name OSI, and new band, Kings of Mercia, a lineup that’s been termed “a hybrid; it’s heavy, but not metal.”

“Throughout Really Good Terrible Things, Matheos and Alder serve up the kind of seductive melancholy Fates Warning fans will recognize,” says Jeff Wagner, author of the Fates Warning book Destination Onward. “Yet there’s a thoroughly different approach here: vocals are delivered with a sort of nostalgic sadness, and the guitar work is layered in such a way as to feel dreamlike. These are rich sonic landscapes, visiting places haunting, beautiful, spectral and secret. The Matheos/Alder partnership is taken to some new and wonderful places here,” Wagner concludes.

Really Good Terrible Things shows the breadth and versatility of the acclaimed pair, along with a freshness that belies their long musical partnership. “We both still love making music and we really enjoy working together. There’s a good amount of chemistry there, I think,” Matheos shares. “We both know what to expect from each other.“
