Swedish death metal maniacs Sins of Omission have announced the re-issue of their 1999 debut album The Creation via Hammerheart Records. This forgotten gem will be released for the first time on vinyl on 3rd March, 2026.
Sins of Omission was a great Swedish band trailing in the footsteps of the formidable At the Gates, and one could say that they probably had a sound close to the ‘Slaughter of the Soul’ era, with a few pretty notable exceptions which pushed their 1999 debut over the top from just a trend hopper to something well worth having.
From the stunning Kristian Wåhlin artwork to the excellent punch of the production, this was for sure one of the better efforts heard from the tenure of Sweden’s Black Sun Records, a label with that unfortunately did not survive very far into the new millennium.
The Creation is with ease one of the better albums within this style which got not enough love, and whether you’re a huge fan of Slaughter of the Soul or you enjoy other bands in its wake like Darkane, Soilwork and Impious, this is totally an album worth snapping up now. Just as virile sounding today as it was then.
Track-list: 1. Eager for the Fray 2. Reap the Storm 3. The Creation 4. Burn the Night 5. The Experiment 6. Let Them March 7. The Serpentine Route 8. To the Grind 9. Exhibition of Sins

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER will be touring in support of their critically adored tenth studio album, Servitude, released in 2024 via Metal Blade Records.
“At a brisk thirty-three minutes, there’s no real fat, just a collection of raging riffs and solid gold grooves that never overstays its welcome…,” lauded Blabbermouth. “Whether wallowing in grim, doomy waters on ‘Mammoth’s Hand,’ or blasting away like some crazed, nihilistic army of intergalactic ghouls on ‘Transcosmic Blueprint’ and climactic hook avalanche ‘Utopia Black,’ this is an album that nobly delivers the goods, while screaming defiance at the stars. Everybody involved should be immensely proud.” Metal Injection accurately hailed a record of, “fucking killer death metal,” Distorted Sound crowned THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, “one of melodeath’s greatest, most consistent bands,” while Kerrang wrote, “…the release of Servitude faces down existential concerns with determination and defiance.” Added Last Rites, “Servitude doesn’t feel like a debut because it’s unpolished or full of missteps; it feels like a debut because it’s brimming with a fresh energy and feels like it’s only hinting at what could be in store.”
After releasing “Desolation” in October the Netherlands Dutch/Slovakian downtempo/deathcore band DISTANT are dropping a new single, “Nothing Left To Hate”. Check out the video below.
The band comments: “’Nothing Left To Hate’ is Distant at full destructive force — thicker riffs, deeper grooves, and a raw dive into self-destruction and chaos. The track is made for circle-pits, rage workouts, and letting the anger out.”
The single lands right before DISTANT join Sylosis for a massive EU tour starting January 16, placing the band in front of thousands of new fans across Europe.
In the past two months DISTANT played the Evisceratour with Ingested and Ov Sulfur in the USA and Canada as well as their own Dutch Xmas Special with Cabal and local supports to help their native scene.

DISTANT has become one of the prominent faces of European Deathcore. Melding together brutal death metal, slam, noise and beatdown with a hyper-dissonant orchestra of impending doom, they’ve come eons since their origins as metalcore obsessed friends in Rotterdam and Bratislava.

The defining pioneers of black metal return with their seventh studio album, Liturgy of Death. With this release, Mayhem further solidify their standing as one of the most unyielding forces in extreme music. Now more than four decades into their career, they turn their focus toward the unavoidable presence of mortality.
Liturgy of Death explores the philosophy of mortality with stark, uncompromising clarity. The album presents death not as an ending, but as a universal law that touches all life and exposes the fragility of human existence. This impermanence becomes a call to live with full intensity, for every gain and loss ultimately falls back into the same silence. Echoing ancient philosophies, the album portrays life as a transitional state and death as a gateway to a higher form of being, while the solemn, dark beauty of death permeates the entire work.
Attila comments on the new track: “Life Is a Corpse You Drag is not a slogan, but a ritual and a realization. It names an ancient law: consciousness as burden, the body as vessel, faith as a seal on a grave already closed. There is no comfort in this recognition but there is release. If we have been dead all along, there is nothing left to lose. What remains is pure energy: movement without fear, presence without compromise, a victorious march into the final destruction.”

With Necrobutcher, Hellhammer, Attila, Morten Bergeton Iversen, and Ghul locked into a unit tighter than ever, Liturgy of Death celebrates Mayhem’s own legacy, a continuation of the raw and uncompromising sound that defined their beginnings. The result is a merciless record – dark, fast, and unrelenting – that captures the band in their most dangerous and vital form. Forty-one years since their formation in Langhus, Mayhem remain a defining force in Norwegian black metal, continuing to shape the sound they helped create.
As part of the “Fourth Chapter” of the comprehensive catalogue re-issue campaign for DAN SWANÖ fronted Death Metallers EDGE OF SANITY and Prog/Hardrock outfit NIGHTINGALE, the time is now also come to re-issue a definitive version of the first solo by the Swedish vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and acclaimed metal producer (Opeth, Katatonia, Dissection, etc.). Originally released in 1999 to much acclaim due to its stylistically ground-breaking keyboard-oriented, atmospheric and 70’s rock inspired Death Metal, “Moontower (Re-issue)” will be out on March 6th, 2026 via Century Media Records and InsideOutMusic worldwide.
Next to a careful full remastering treatment by Dan Swanö himself, “Moontower (Re-issue)” comes with plenty of bonus material (several demos and two cover versions) in the following formats:
DAN SWANÖ – “Moontower (Re-issue)” / Out: March 6th, 2026 on Century Media Records

Note: The ground-breaking first (and only) Dan Swanö solo album from 1999.
The pre-sale for “Moontower (Re-issue)” starts today and you can now also check out the new single “Uncreation (Remaster 2026)” in a visualizer created by Costin Chioreanu / Twighlight13Media, below.
Dan Swanö checked in with the following comment about “Uncreation” as follows: “On almost every album I have been a part of there’s always been that one track where everything fell into place. The song I can not listen to it without getting that powerful rush that I believe is what keeps a composer chasing the sonic dragon. And on the “Moontower” album, it’s definitely “Uncreation”. The birth of “Uncreation” was complicated. It died and was brought back to life and in the end, it turned out to be the best song I ever wrote with growling vocals. I tried to make it as catchy as possible yet still keeping that rather unique “Moontower vibe” going. I was always a sucker for a well-crafted pop song, and I wanted to pay my respect to the magic of a key change in just the right moment, not once, but twice in this track. The guitar solo section, in its pomp meets progressive rock style in 7/8 is my favourite part on the “Moontower” album. Every note is carefully chosen and performed over and over until I got to exactly where I wanted it to be!”
The final “Fourth Chapter” of the re-issue campaign most recently launched fully remastered re-issues of EDGE OF SANITY’s “Unorthodox” (Out on Century Media Records) as well as NIGHTINGALE’s “White Darkness” (Out on InsideOutMusic) in December.

Post-rock band Jagged City, featuring Jake Woodruff (Defeater) and Carlos Torres (former touring member of Explosions In The Sky) have unveiled their new single ‘Ocean East, Ocean West’. This is the second single taken from their debut EP, There Are More of Us, Always, to be released on 30th January via Pelagic Records.
There Are More of Us, Always is a bold collection that moves between spacious, melodic guitar passages and raucous, swelling climbs. With heartfelt, melodious songwriting, a diverse range of eclectic touches buried within, and eruptions of dense, layered sound, this record delivers wonderfully balanced compositions through raw and personal production.
The project began as a cross-continental art experiment between Jake Woodruff (Defeater) and Carlos Torres (former touring member of Explosions In The Sky). What started as a simple exchange of ideas quickly found real shape through collaborative composition and thoughtful arrangement. Early sessions with David Haik helped refine the songs’ structures and drum frameworks, setting the groundwork for what would become Jagged City’s striking debut.
“We wrote with pure instinct, just tried to add something new to a genre that we love. As we traded ideas, we took some left turns and incorporated elements that may be unexpected.“ commented Woodruff.
When it came time to record, scheduling issues led to an inspired change of plans. Urian Hackney joined the project both behind the kit and behind the board, engineering and performing the drum parts that propel the record. In two intense days at The Box studio in Burlington, VT, Jake and Urian captured the core of the album with an immediacy and urgency that remain audible in every take.
Carlos recorded bass in Los Angeles alongside longtime musical colleague Michael James (Explosions In The Sky), while Jake added further guitar textures from his home studio, creating layers that thread the compositions together.
This debut is both a statement of intent and an open invitation: Jagged City offer music that rewards close listening and communal experience—an instrumental journey shaped by collaboration and a fierce commitment to feeling. While still post-rock, There Are More of Us, Always utilises a diverse range of influence, giving a freshness to each uniquely realised track.
“This record is a product of collaboration and love and creativity – we hope it inspires people to be connected and think collaboratively and creatively together. That’s the only way forward.” concludes Woodruff.
