MYRATH Release New Single ‘Candles Cry’ from Upcoming Album “Karma”

Myrath have presented their new single ‘Candles Cry’ through earMUSIC.

‘Candles Cry’ deals with inner conflict and how it can easily manifest in a negative way – if you choose not to resolve it. In an ever-changing society, which is doomed to be under constant pressure, the band makes a strong statement and encourages people to tackle conflicting feelings through music.

Says Kevin Codfert (producer & keyboarder of Myrath): “This song is very special to me as it’s the first vocal duet I’m singing with Zaher.”

“At first, it wasn’t supposed to go like this. I presented my interpretation of the chorus to Zaher, and he said, ‘I love your voice. So, go ahead, I’d rather have you sing it!’. From a deeper perspective, this song is about the loss of free will, of soldiers who no longer know which cause they should support.”

The band members of Myrath are strong believers in ‘music being medicine for the soul’ and want to encourage people to use music as an escape from their daily lives.

“Myrath from Tunisia might just be the most underrated band ever. Their new album really excites me – they have something fresh and back it up with a great stage show. They played a tiny stage at Wacken where nobody brings more than guitars and amps and brought a two-truck production. It was amazing!” – Pär Sundström, Sabaton

As the sands of time continued to shape their journey, Myrath’s relentless dedication led to the creation of their highly anticipated album “Karma,” slated for release in Feb 2024 on earMUSIC as limited transparent red LP, black LP and Digipak. The forthcoming opus promises to be a testament to their evolution, delivering a sonic tapestry woven from passion and innovation.

With “Karma”, Myrath solidify their place at the top of the metal scene with a powerful and captivating blend of Eastern melodies and Western heavy metal. From the epic opening track “To The Stars” to the hauntingly beautiful “Child Of Prophecy”, this album will take you on a theatrical journey through a world of myth and legend.

Featuring soaring vocals, intricate guitar riffs, and complex percussion, “Karma” showcases the virtuosity and creativity that have made Myrath one of the most exciting and innovative bands in the genre. With its stunning production and lush soundscapes, this album is sure to be a classic for years to come.

Progressive metalcore outfit RELIQA have announced their signing to Nuclear Blast Records for all territories outside of Australia, where the band have signed to Greyscale Records. To coincide with the announcement of their new label, the Sydney, Australia based fourpiece have also revealed the video for their new single ‘Terminal’.

Vocalist Monique Pym comments:
“Terminal feels like the perfect re-introduction of Reliqa to the world. It’s vibrant, high-shine and optimistic, yet with a moody, introspective cloud hanging over it that foreshadows all that’s still to come. We’re beyond thrilled to be back, especially now with the support of our new families at Nuclear Blast and Greyscale.”

Nuclear Blast Records A&R Manager Jaap Wagemaker comments:
“We’re very excited to welcome RELIQA to our Nuclear Blast family.
The band caught our attention after the release of their last EP, I Dont Know What I Am, with their signature sound that blends elements of alternative, prog, djent and metalcore. The diversity of their sound paired with Monique’s stunning vocals means they appeal to a very wide audience.
RELIQA are on a mission, and their first release for Nuclear Blast, the exhilarating new single ‘Terminal’, is a bold statement that sees them step up to being a truly global band!
The future belongs to RELIQA, and working with Josh and Chris from their management team has been a great pleasure. We are looking forward to building this band up outside of Australia and beyond!”

PESTILENCE Release “Levels of Perception” Album in April, Announce European Headlining Tour

Genre-defying Dutch death metal legends PESTILENCE have singled-out and re-recorded twelve emblematic anthems from across their 38-year career into “Levels of Perception”; the album is set for release on April 26th via Agonia Records. The release will be preceded by a three-week long headlining tour of Europe, which kicks off on April 3rd.

Patrick Mameli – whose signature vocal, guitar and songwriting skills constitute the hallmark of PESTILENCE – finds “Levels of Perception” to be a testament to the band’s role in death metal’s progression. “I’ve always wanted to do a best-of album, because it would mean that I’ve achieved something in the past; something that still has its value today,” Mameli reflects. “To be able to choose from songs that I composed in the distant past, transporting them into the now, with the line-up of the recordings that consisted of Michiel van der Plicht (drums), Rutger van Noordenburg (guitar) and Joost van der Graaf (bass) – I found this to be of great value and sheer awesomeness.”

The cover artwork was created by Peter Suchy

Re-recording of the tracks has not only managed to breathe new life into them – half thanks to new line-up, and other half by implementing subtle changes which reflect Mameli‘s matured vision and refined with years of experience aesthetic – but also sets them apart from cheap, unimaginative compilations, by unifying the album’s sound as befits a full-length release. “The album’s title is Levels of Perception. Why? Because this is what has happened with the songs,” Mameli explains. “Performed by different musicians, with their own views, musical abilities and interpretations, shining a new light on them. So here we are with new Levels of Perception.”

The drums for “Levels of Perception” were recorded by Michiel van der Plicht in 2021, during a live stream held in T Paard (The Hague, NL). “These recorded drum tracks were so awesome that we just had to use them, fine-tuning the guitars and bass,” Mameli comments. These and other re-recordings were done with Reaper behind the console at van der Plicht‘s own studio On Duty in Mijdrecht, NL. The latter engineered, mixed and mastered the album. “I’ve started to realize, after recording Exitivm, that when you can engineer, mix and master by yourself, the control over your own product is way bigger, through the honesty and passion for your own compositions; rather than hiring an engineer that has no feel for your music,” PESTILENCE’s frontman wraps up

Tracklisting:
01. Horror Detox (Re-recording)
02. Mvlti Dimensional (Re-recording)
03. Mobvs Propagationem (Re-recording)
04. Sinister (Re-recording)
05. Dehydrated (Re-recording)
06. Dominatvi Svbmissa (Re-recording)
07. Land of Tears (Re-recording)

09. Deificvs (Re-recording)
10. Twisted Truth (Re-recording)
11. Sempiternvs (Re-recording)
12. Ovt of the Body (Re-recording)

PESTILENCE was established in the Netherlands in 1986 and is considered to be a progressive death metal phenom, labeled on the same genre-defying scale as Death, Cynic and Atheist. The group is led by founder, guitarist and mastermind Patrick Mameli, who’s been the band’s binding factor through two breakups and reunions. Both a reinvention and a confirmation of everything the band has been standing for since 1986, PESTILENCE is more than ever breaking new grounds and exploring the further outposts of extreme metal on “Exitivm” (2021) – the last album, which landed on several Billboard charts; most notably including the top 200 best selling albums. In 2023, the band remastered & reissued its classic catalog, and announced “Portals” to be the title of its next studio album, which is currently in the works. PESTILENCE shows no signs of slowing down, starting 2024 off with a spring tour and a long-sought best-of album, “Levels of Perception” – both of which will roll out this April.

CHAPEL OF SAMHAIN Share ‘Pale’ Single

Portuguese death metallers CHAPEL OF SAMHAIN are set to release their debut album “Black Onyx Cave” in CD format (300 hand-numbered copies) on March 18th 2024 via Nuclear Winter Records.

Today, the mighty Mystification Zine is hosting the official premiere of the album’s second single, “Pale”. Stream the song at THIS LOCATION.

The first single, “Charnel”, is available HERE.

Tracklist:

01. Charnel
02. Flesh
03. Pale
04. Delirium
05. Portal
06. Ether

A path has been made for so long that desire gave birth to a new dimension of horror, where the graves awake at night and swallow the breathless.

Black Onyx
stared into this abyss and sealed a lefthand pact with Phoros to rot the alchemy upon the philosophical stone. These fumes wrecked the pillars of time and procreated a vicious ensemble of smothering tunes towards ruin baptized under the moniker CHAPEL OF SAMHAIN.

Totally architected in a monolithic vision and crafted in the sulphuric womb of lunacy both musicians accepted this challenge outside their other musical projects (Grog, Velório & Nethermancy) to embrace and celebrate the newborn spirits of the dead.

Wandering through the extreme and obscure catacombs of the old school metal scripts, traces of death, black with eerie symphonies gather for a mass of skull crushing hymns along with a choir of morbid enchantments that turn down the crosses for the CHAPEL OF SAMHAIN hordes as the ambiences grow thicker within the abyssic layers of doom.

Once entering Black Onyx Cave, an altar will rise as you will feel the mark and the creation force behind this unparalleled vortex meant to represent the seasons change within light and shadow as Man grows wither into His Mastery. Transmutation is the Key!

FFO: early Morgoth, Profanatica, Acheron, Imprecation
