Defying was formed in 2008. Within 15 years of existing they released two records: “Nexus Artificial” (2014, LP) and “The Splinter of Light We Misread” (2016, EP) which include Joy Division âNew Dawn Fadesâ cover. They combine a variety of genres in their music: post- and progressive metal with sludge, black metal and elements or ambient.
Right now Defying is preparing for releasing new studio album titled “Wadera“. Music was recorded & produced by Tomasz Semeniuk in 2022. All was mixed & mastered by Filip HaĹucha at Heinrich House Studio (Azarath, Behemoth, Entropia, Obscure Sphinx). Cover artwork was done by PaweĹ Siemaszko. Two guests appeared on the album:

“Wadera” is a concept album inspired by the Polish horror film “The Wolf” (1983) and the short story “Wadera” (1977) by Jerzy GieraĹtowski. The album is a musical story about revenge from beyond the grave, told in the spirit of dark romanticism.
Band comments: “The word wadera comes from hunting vocabulary and means a female wolf. In order to achieve a 19th century atmosphere, the album was captured with traditional equipment and microphones – without the use of any plugins or samples during recording. We also utilized more than a hundred-year-old instruments, such as zither or hunting horn. The goal was to make “Wadera” sound like an old film tape.“
Album “Wadera” will be released February 23, 2024 digitally (pre-save) and on CD by Italian label These Hands Melt (pre-order).
London, UK mathcore band PUPIL SLICER has announced their debut headline UK tour, performing their critically acclaimed sophomore album Blossom in full, set to take place in April. PUPIL SLICER will be joined by special guests Coilguns, with additional support from Prosthetic Records labelmates God Alone.

On BlossomPUPIL SLICER‘s primary lyricist, Kate Davies has crafted a story that conveys personal experiences via an other-worldly narrative. In the wake of a profane signal of alien origin, the album opens with the protagonist losing touch with reality beneath a starry night sky. What follows is a kaleidoscopic voyage through another plane of existence where all is not as it first seems; trapped in a loop of destruction that must be imparted upon others. The tale ultimately comes to a point with serenity achieved in the closing minutes, planting the seeds of hope for an opportunity to start anew.Â
Whilst 2020’s Mirrors was lyrically a very raw, biographical album, on Blossom Davies has deftly blended between their lived experiences and the tales that unfold throughout the ten tracks on the follow up. These stories are supported by the intensely intricate and skillful rhythmic backbone provided by Josh Andrews on drums, Luke Fabian on bass and bursts of shredding leads from former live guitarist Frank Muir. Told through the prism of a fantastical fiction, the visceral delivery and cathartic energy is palpable as ever; intergalactic embellishments canât destroy the umbilical link between what churns within and what is later spewed out.Â
An intense month in the studio with producer Lewis Johns has led to a cohesive and confident sounding album that embraces ethereal singing, electronic breakdowns, and bold experimentation – without ever losing sight of their core tenets. Through darkness and despair, there is always – at the very least – a glimmer of light in all that they do. Drawing from influences as diverse as Nine Inch Nails, Deafheaven, Radiohead, and Botch, PUPIL SLICER have moulded an album that is effervescent with passion but doesnât shy away from a good hook and a catchy chorus.

After the resounding success of their 50th Anniversary celebration, BLUE ĂYSTER CULT is eagerly gearing up for an exciting new chapter in their storied career with the upcoming release of ‘Ghost Stories.’ This highly anticipated album marks a fitting finale to the recording legacy of one of rockâs most iconic fixtures from the past 50 years.
In a thrilling partnership with Frontiers Music, BLUE ĂYSTER CULT is set to captivate fans with a collection of reimagined and newly completed songs that span from 1978-2016. These musical treasures, long considered ‘lost gems’ by BLUE ĂYSTER CULT enthusiasts, were originally recorded between 1978 and 1983, except for one track from 2016, “If I Fell.” Also included is the only known studio recording of their concert classic âKick Out the Jamsâ (MC5 cover). Some of the material is from sessions workshopping material for an album, some is from performance rehearsals. All were recorded once in the hopes that someday they’d see the light of day.
George Geranios, the band’s original audio engineer and an integral part of the band’s golden years, co-produced the original 1978-83 recordings along with BĂC. All were originally recorded on reel-to-reel analog tape. They were later transferred to digital audio, which is when modern AI and magical musical talents met and the collection of vintage multi-track recordings was de-mixed, re-mixed, and produced by Steve Schenck and Richie Castellano to become ‘Ghost Stories.’

Work in the studio for the album was completed by Richie Castellano along with remaining original members Eric Bloom and Donald âBuck Dharmaâ Roeser, both Albert Bouchard and Rick Downey appear on drums with additional overdubs recorded by Joe Bouchard. All these original lineup members appearing on ‘Ghost Stories,’ create a musical journey that traverses decades.
To celebrate this exciting announcement, the band shares the single “So Supernatural” along with a new music video that has a super cool blend of classic rock and modern AI.

Death To All is a unique opportunity for a new generation of metalheads to experience the genius of DEATH and Chuck Schuldiner first-hand.
Gene Hoglan says, âDeath To All is really excited to be hitting the road on the âThe Scream of Perserverance Tourâ with special guests Cryptopsy. The North American tour will bring three different, special and exciting shows encapsulating the two equally important eras of DEATH.â
The Scream of Perserverance Tour features unique two-night stints in multiple cities, where the first night will be an old-school, brutal night featuring, in its entirety, the album which started the DEATH legacy, âScream Bloody Goreâ, as well as classic tunes from âLeprosyâ and âSpiritual Healing.â
The second night will feature the finishing touch in DEATHâs history, âThe Sound of Perseverance,â as well as timeless classics from the technical and more melodic era of DEATH, âHuman,â âIndividual Thought Patternsâ and âSymbolic.â Also, in certain cities, the sets will be âFrom First To Lastâ, where Death To All play the mightiest bangers from every DEATH album.

About DEATH TO ALL:
Founded in 1984 by Chuck Schuldiner under the original name of Mantas in Altamonte Springs, Florida, DEATH was among the more widely known early pioneers of the death metal sound, along with Californiaâs Possessed. Inspired by Nasty Savage, DEATH was among the first bands in the Florida death metal scene. In the late 80s, the band was both a part of and integral in defining the death metal scene which gained international recognition with the release of albums by a number of area acts.
Death To All operates as a tribute band to the original DEATH, which dissolved in 2001 following the passing of the groupâs founder and frontman Chuck Schuldiner. The backbone of Death To All is singer/guitarist Max Phelps (Exist, Cynic), drummer Gene Hoglan (Dark Angel, Testament, Dethklok), bass beast Steve DiGiorgio (Testament, Sadus) and Bobby Koelble (DEATH).
