CURSE ALL KINGS to Release Third Album “Feral Earth” on March 8th

CURSE ALL KINGS will release the new album “Feral Earth” on March 8th 2024 via Breath Sun Bone Blood and Cyclic Law.

The album track “Wounds of Land and Body” is now available HERE.

“Feral Earth”, the third full length from Berlin’s CURSE ALL KINGS (and second shared with Cyclic Law) celebrates the expansion of the collective around B.S.s. (Common Eider King Eider) to include Fabian Van Beek (Kluizenaer, Lavvra, Hagiophobic), Bryan Bray (Gates, Sutekh Hexen collaborator) and Edie (La Haine, Common Eider King Eider collaborator). And with these extraordinary collaborators, each soaked in their own personal worlds of dark ambience and black metal, the third chapter of CURSE ALL KINGS unfolds with suffocating fury and wrath.

The arrangements move from almost inaudible ritualistic hums and murmurs, through patient and methodical ritual repetitions, into furious abstracted atmospheres of blackened noise and black metal.

What few finger holds the organic drones and compositions offer in the quieter arrangements of “Feral Earth” quickly burn away with searing guitar lines stretched, distorted and disfigured almost beyond recognition… Only hints, memories, and the echoes of shadows remain.

Pummelling doom drums and apocalyptic blast beats suggest movement and coherence, but that mask is quickly removed to show its true face of chaos and hopelessness.

When the sonic themes and vocal offerings on these arrangements are more present, they are heartbroken and crushed by the weight of the world… trampled and cast aside.

Yet within all of this insurmountable despair, there is a sense of beauty and hope. Like witnessing a hungry fox walk the filthy inner city streets at 4 AM..
It looks up at you, feral and defiant.

Tracklist:

01. As the Spirits Watch Over Us, We Reciprocate
02. Ünmaal
03. Wounds of Land and Body
04. Feral Spirits Rise!
05. As the Earth Holds You
06. The Veil Between the Forest and Glade

Metal Blade Records is pleased to announce that its Las Vegas, NV based museum, previously only open on the weekends, will now be open EVERY DAY. Inside the museum, fans will be able to wander the halls of heavy metal history, collected throughout the life and career of Metal Blade’s founder and Chairman/CEO, Brian Slagel. You’ll see items like old promo materials, old show flyers from the Sunset Strip and beyond, plaques, props from tours and music videos, original promotional photos from bands’ album releases, original artwork from bands’ cover art, merch, gear, and so, so much more.

Tickets HERE!

For a better idea of what the museum holds, check out these videos which offer a quick tour through the museum with Metal Blade’s very own, Brian Slagel.

And while out and about in Las Vegas, make sure to stop by Metal Blade Records‘ store at the Antique Mall Of America. Full of Metal Blade collectibles and out-of-print items that can’t be found anywhere else, fans can visit the location to get their fix of rare vinyl, t-shirts, CDs and more. (Antique Mall of America 9151 S Las Vegas Blvd # 344 Las Vegas, NV 89123 – directions HERE)

About Metal Blade Records:
Founded upon owner Brian Slagel‘s enduring drive to find great bands and get their music out to as many people as possible, since 1982 Metal Blade has brought wave after wave of powerful, innovative, and often genre-defining music to the ever-hungry metal masses. It is this ethos that has seen Metal Blade build up a stunning and diverse catalog, weather the various storms facing any independent label, and in an age of declining record sales boast the most successful years of its existence as it celebrates its fourth decade.

Metal Blade Records launched Metallica, Slayer, Armored Saint, Fates Warning, GWAR, Cannibal Corpse, Amon Amarth, Whitechapel, The Black Dahlia Murder, Cattle Decapitation, and dozens more genre giants, shaping four decades and counting of hard rock, metal, and extreme music culture. Brian Slagel worked as a record store clerk when he founded Metal Blade in 1982, reserving a spot for a young Lars Ulrich on his Metal Massacre compilation series. Metal Blade grew from humble beginnings in Los Angeles to become an international powerhouse, selling millions of albums while remaining fiercely independent. In 2017, Slayer‘s Kerry King inducted the label into the Hall of Heavy Metal History. Slagel‘s For the Sake of Heaviness: The History of Metal Blade Records arrived the same year.

In 2022 Metal Blade Records celebrated its 40th Anniversary by way of two live shows in Las Vegas – one featuring Killswitch Engage and another featuring Sacred Reich. In addition to these two packed live shows/parties, the label reissued its first release, the compilation album Metal Massacre, plus specially branded 40th Anniversary small batch vodka and rum, and a West Coast style IPA beer. Brian Slagel also saw the release of his second book, Swing of the Blade: More Stories from Metal Blade Records that was released on May 9th and was met with rave reviews from fans and press alike. One fan on Good Reads called the book “a sentimental journey through Brian’s metal origin-story recollections from his deep and wide perspective as founder of Metal Blade that I enjoyed very much” while MetalTalk.net wrote that “Swing Of The Blade is an endearing, honest, and enjoyable journey into the deeper world of Brian Slagel, the main man behind the legendary Metal Blade Records…this is very much Brian in his own words, recounting tales from the early days of Metal Blade through to a brief post-pandemic epilogue, where he expresses his regret that the book hasn’t coincided with the 40th anniversary of the label.” To round out the celebration, Brian Slagel opened up the label’s collection of heavy metal memorabilia to fans in Las Vegas, NV, marking the opening of the official Metal Blade Records Museum that is open every Saturday.

The celebrating rolled over into 2023 and in October AXS TV picked up and premiered the Denise Korycki documentary of Metal Massacre: The Story Behind the Legendary Album. Packed with all-star interviews, rare photos, the film tells the story of the groundbreaking 1982 Metal Massacre vinyl compilation-a sonic celebration of the burgeoning Los Angeles Metal scene, which helped launch the careers of iconic acts Metallica and Ratt, and ultimately led to the birth of the legendary independent record label Metal Blade Records. The film boasts priceless commentary and anecdotes from Metal Blade founder Brian Slagel and his friend and collaborator John Kornarens, two metalheads with a dream who made Metal Massacre a reality; as well as Metallica members Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield; Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy; and Black N’ Blue singer Jamie St. James, among many others.

ALLEGAEON is set to enter the studio next week alongside original vocalist Ezra Haynes to record their seventh full-length album with longtime producer Dave Otero (Flatline Audio).

Fans can catch live video updates throughout the recording process on instagram.com/allegaeonofficial, as well as special inside looks on their Patreon on: patreon.com/allegaeon

Guitarist Greg Burgess comments, “We are really excited to get back in the studio with Dave and get to work. The album is shaping up to be a strong amalgamation of songs across the discography. Some songs sound like they would be at home on Formshifter and some sound like they are straight off of DAMNUM. It’s a very exciting time to be in ALLEGAEON and we can’t wait for everyone to hear this record.“

Adds Haynes, “It has been a decade since I’ve had the pleasure of creating a full-length album with the boys. The chemistry of this lineup is nothing I’ve experienced before and there’s a lot to unpack with this new album. A decade’s worth of experiences, and I’m finally ready to share it with the fine folk of the metal community. 2024 is really shaping up and I couldn’t be more excited. Here’s to lucky #7!“

NOTURNALL Release Music Video ‘Shadows (Walking Through)’ + Two-Track Live Single Ft. Mike Portnoy

Posted by tarjavirmakari on January 30, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: NOTURNALL. Leave a comment

Ah, the sense of traveling, on the road and in the air! The ease of life as a touring minstrel of the 21st century! The miles passing by like the soft breeze of your perfectly tempered air condition, while a brash little waterdrop breaks away from your fogged-up soft drink glass …

… Whether this is a good moment to wake up or not is surely debatable, because this would probably mean missing out on a wealth of sincerely dreamed-of pleasures. On the other hand, the true adventure begins on arrival, doesn’t it? It sure did for Brazilian power progsters NOTURNALL – or better for what was left of the band after a 4-day-trip of horror in order to traverse from Brazil to the first Australian show of their extensive ongoing tour.

From vanished singer to missing bass guitar to total loss of all clothes – fate really had it in for the guys this time round!

Maybe sometimes your life’s gotta turn to shit a wee bit for your own perspective to make the world shine a little more? From condoning audiences to street musicians lending you their bass to the relief that only fellows willing to share their underdaks could give you – it’s the awesome things in life that count. Even awesomer is when your drummer gets to battle it out live on stage with a legend such as Mike Portnoy! The awesomest thing could then be to make a ritualistic habit out of this and see where it leads. Curious? Here we go, Scream! For!! Me!!! (Live in Sao Paulo feat. Mike Portnoy) and Scream! For!! Me!!! (Live in Nova Friburgo feat. Mike Portnoy): https://orcd.co/screamformelive

And while we’re on the brink of mocking the dear guys for losing their singer in the middle of a massive tour, let’s make up for it by appreciating the sheer insanity of Thiago Bianchi’s incredibly dynamic vocal range with a brand new, over the top music video of their timeless power ballad Shadows (Walking Through).

The song is also featured on the international release of their latest album Cosmic Redemption, which marked a pathway for NOTURNALL into global metal territory by the end of last year. On the CD, 13 magnificent tracks, including features from renowned artists, such as James LaBrie, Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) and others, deal with the cosmic turns the world takes – on the micro level as the struggles of individuals, as well as on the macro level in the shape of corruption and battles in society.

The term Cosmic Redemption represents the objective for each human to grow as a person and leave the world as a better place than it was. The album was written during the disruptive time of the pandemic and motivated the band members to keep going.
Speaking of going: The guys are back together and should be having a great time right now together with some of you lucky peeps – rocking the 70000TONS OF METAL cruise! These remarkable shows will be something very special, as on the ship NOTURNALL will meet and enter the stage with guitar hero Mike Orlando again, who greatly contributed to the album. With their trip back to Brazil after the cruise, the band will close the great circle that led them lapping around the world: Brazil – Europe – Australia – USA – Brazil.

The tour may be over soon, just not for long: At least for South America, the restless band will reach out to fans very shortly with a ton of new tour dates for 2024.

In the meantime, NOTURNALL are very happy to announce that a new deal got signed with RUBICON MUSIC (Japan) to make Cosmic Redemption available on the Japanese market as well. And since the guys just can’t sit still, they will be touring Japan later this year, too!

NEW MODEL ARMY Release New Studio Album “Unbroken”, Out Now

Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: New Model Army. Leave a comment

NEW MODEL ARMY have released their new studio album ‘Unbroken‘ through earMUSIC.

The brand-new studio album ‘Unbroken’ brings together both their old school energy and their contemporary sophistication to create one of the finest albums of their long career. It was written and recorded over quite a long period of time, with the process interrupted by both the delayed 40th Anniversary shows and the recent ‘Sinfonia‘ live orchestral project.

A very New Model Army album, full of guitars but with the emphasis on the rhythmic power of bass and drums which characterizes all the band’s work, with ‘Unbroken’, the band continue to push the boundaries of their signature sound while staying true to their heart. The subjects and moods are variable, creating a diverse collection of tracks which touch on topics ranging from social and political commentary to deeply personal reflections.

Listen to ‘Unbroken‘ HERE
