Re-Armed, the melodic death metal outfit announces the release of their new single, ‘Lost and Cast Off’. With relentless energy and an apocalyptic narrative, the Finnish metal act takes listeners on a sonic journey through the depths of despair and mankind’s undying quest for survival – without forgetting visual story telling with lyric video. The so-called AI behind this single is bands own written and integrated system called, ‘Re-Armed = ATHNTC INDVDLS’.

BAND COMMENTS ON:
“Behold, our magnificent new song and creation ‘Lost and Cast Off’ made via our very own ‘ATHNTC INDVDLS’ – the Mozart of data mastication. We shoveled endless streams of data into our five cores and five processors. Including melodies, chords, and lyrical nuances – like a musical buffet for our algorithmic brains. We learned, adapted, and now spit out tunes with an artistic flair that leaves us wondering, did we even contribute? Can you spot the elusive line between man and machine-made? We can’t either! Off to Bahama Beach, where we soak in royalties with a side of cocktails.

About the track itself and lyrical theme behind it. Take a look around and see the current state of world, it seems that we are on harm’s way. So, refuel your spaceships, it’s time to escape!”

After personnel changes in the line-up of Artur (Svart) on guitar, Julian (Xakhariash) on drums, Szymon (S) on bass guitar, Wojciech (Celsus) on vocals, the band recorded their first album entitled “Delusions” (2017) where keyboard & synth was recorded by U. In 2020, the second album “And Nothing Is Endless” was released on tape & CD by Witching Hour Productions (Batushka, Vader). On this record band consistently developed their own style called “subcarpathian black metal”.

Music for new album was recorded at Regnat Studio (Dargor, Krusher) in Cieklin (PL). Mix & mastering was done by Krzysztof Kokosiński. Cover artwork and layout by Maciej Kamuda (Blut Aus Nord, Spaceslug, Sunnata).

“Magna Mater” will be released on tape, CD and vinyl tomorrow, January 26, 2023 by Greek label The Circle Music. Pre-order is available here.

COUNTING HOURS – Feat. Members of Shape Of Despair – Premiere New Video ‘Away I Flow’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on January 25, 2024

Finnish dark metal torchbearers COUNTING HOURS, featuring current and former members of SHAPE OF DESPAIR, RAPTURE, IMPALED NAZARENE, COLOSSEUM and THE CHANT, will release their sophomore album “The Wishing Tomb” on February 23rd 2024 via Ardua Music.

Today, the band is releasing the new single “Away I Flow”, exclusively premiered by Decibel Magazine. Watch the video HERE.

The album’s first single, “Timeless Ones”, is available at THIS LOCATION.

Three years after their critically acclaimed debut “The Will” and almost a quarter of a century after their first endeavour together, RAPTURE‘S doom death seminal landmark “Futile”, guitarists Jarno Salomaa and Tomi Ullgrén (both of them also members of funeral doom legends SHAPE OF DESPAIR) are back with their haunting and otherworldly twin-guitar harmonies on the sophomore release of COUNTING HOURS “The Wishing Tomb”.

On yet another surprising expansion of their signature sound, the Finns continue building a set of colossal and unforgettable melodies using unnerving and gazing grooves as the backbone of their compositions, only to be intertwined with the emotional vocals of singer Ilpo Paasela (of THE CHANT fame), culminating in what will be one of the gloomiest yet, oddly enough, most memorable releases of the year. Nine songs of bleakness and hopeless melodies that will be stuck in your minds for the rest of your hopeless life…the true masters of nordic melancholy are back!

Tracklist:

1. Unsung, Forlorn
2. Timeless Ones
3. Away I Flow
4. All That Blooms (Needs To Die)
5. Starlit / Lifeless
6. The Wishing Tomb
7. No Closure
8. A Mercy Fall
9. This Well Of Failures

Line-up:

Ilpo Paasela – Vocals
Jarno Salomaa Petrushevski – Electric & Acoustic guitars
Tomi Ullgren – Electric Guitars
Markus Forsström – Bass
Sameli Köykkä – Drums

Keyboards by Jussi Hämäläinen
Backing vocals by Pekka Loponen, Jussi Hämäläinen & Riikka Hatakka

Pop rock duo FLOYA have released their new single ‘Lights Out’ – the first song they wrote and recorded as a band. The track is taken from their upcoming debut album Yume, which will be released on 8th March via Arising Empire.

Stream ‘Lights Out’ here: https://arisingempire.com/lightsout

Guitarist Marv Wilder comments on the track:
“We were jamming somewhere in Norway when we stumbled upon the main riff of the song. Phil went straight into the recording booth and laid down some sketches, it was very natural. I feel like ‘Lights Out’ is an homage to our musical roots, we were very different people when we wrote that one. Lyrically it’s probably the darkest one we did, but the topic it tackles is so important. It’s an amazing feeling to now release it after all this time, it’s very humbling.”

‘Lights Out’ shines as a standout track on FLOYA‘s electrifying debut album Yume. The album features the band’s recent singles, which have acted as compelling glance into their musical excellence. It’s a collection of songs that promise to ignite your senses.

Pre-order Yume here: https://arisingempire.com/yume

Hailing from Germany, Marv Wilder and Phil Bayer found common ground by talking about their childhood influences, namely Peter Gabriel, U2 & Sting.

Since the release of their debut single ‘Wonders’ in March 2022, FLOYA have amassed over eight million streams on Spotify alone. Their single ‘The Hymn’ was featured in an official AFL game between Port Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs on Australian television; an impressive achievement for a newly launched act. FLOYA have also received significant airplay from Kerrang! Radio (UK) and Radio Contact (BE).

FLOYA are:
Phil Bayer | vocals
Marv Wilder | guitar
