Hard rock power metal titans FIREWIND, who are currently gearing up for an extensive European and US tour, among new live shows added in the UK and Japan (find all dates and infos listed below!), will release their much-awaited, tenth studio album, entitled Stand United, on March 1, 2024 via AFM Records.

Stand United will be available as CD, LP Vinyl, digital formats and highly collectable bundles including an autographed card, a FIREWIND cat patch plus a ticket for the band’s upcoming European tour with MASTERPLAN! For every ticket bundle purchase, fans will also get the chance to win a Meet&Greet, album pre-orders are up at: https://firewind.bfan.link/stand-united

Following previously-released, first album singles such as “Salvation Day” or the powerful anthem “Come Undone”, today, the iconic band formed by guitar legend Gus G (Ozzy Osbourne, Arch Enemy, Dream Evil) has shared a music video for their latest single “Fallen Angel”! Gus G reveals:

“Fallen Angel” is a song about the eternal battle between good and evil, a song about the temptations of life. There’s been so many interpretations of all this.

Working again with director Rainer “ZIPP” Franze, we gave a biblical touch on the visuals and there’s even some choreography going on, for your viewing pleasure. Musically, I feel there’s a good balance of modern and classic Metal elements which is where  Firewind should be in 2024.”

“Fallen Angel” is now available on all digital services via https://firewind.bfan.link/fallen-angel

Since more than twenty years, FIREWIND enthrall heavy music fans with their exciting blend of hard rock and power metal. Razor-sharp riffs by Gus G, big hooks and solos meet the incredible vocal skills of charismatic singer Herbie Langhans (Avantasia, Radiant, Seventh Avenue, amongst others).

Stand United features nine brand new songs produced with Dennis Ward (Magnum, Unisonic), as well as a cover of the 80s pop rock classic ‘Talking in Your Sleep’, originally recorded by The Romantics but giving it a metal twist in the style of FIREWIND. Their forthcoming studio offering also bears testament to the band’s sheer enthusiasm and lyrical topics that could not be more relevant. “I wouldn’t exactly call ‘Stand United’ a classic concept album, but the album title indicates what we’re about thematically,” Gus G, who has also contributed with more lyric ideas on this one than any album before, said earlier. “This world seems to be getting more and more out of balance, what with environmental disasters, the pandemic, the wars currently raging all over the globe. In such times, it’s more important than ever for mankind to stand close together instead of fighting each other. That’s what ‘Stand United’ is about!”

Stand United track listing:

  1. Salvation Day
  2. Stand United
  3. Destiny is Calling
  4. The Power Lies Within
  5. Come Undone
  6. Fallen Angel
  7. Chains

LEAVES’ EYES Premiere Music Video for New Single ‘Realm of Dark Waves’

Symphonic metal vikings, LEAVES’ EYES, have revealed new details about their much-awaited, new album “Myths Of Fate“! Slated for a release on March 22, 2024 via AFM Records, the album pre-sale has just started at https://leaveseyes.bfan.link/Myths-of-Fate! Perfect in time to celebrate their new album live, LEAVES’ EYES have also announced an extensive touring schedule kicking off in March, find all live dates listed below!

Four years after bringing “The Last Viking” to Valhalla with their previous opus, LEAVES’ EYES resurrect with “Myths Of Fate” to celebrate their 20th year of existence. With their ninth studio album under their belt, the Germany-based act consolidates their leading position in the symphonic metal universe. Powerful, epic and impressive – LEAVES’ EYES once again merge traditional metal genres by fusing elements of folk, gothic, and classical music into a captivating sonic masterpiece.

With “Myths Of Fate”, the band once again set sails for new winds that definitely blow from the harsh shallows of the symphonic metal genre. The fantastic world of legends from Norse and Eastern European mythology is the setting for monumental entertainment. “The early Middle Ages were a fascinating time of change. Some of these innovations have left their mark around the globe and continue to impact our modern world”, tells band mastermind and singer Alex Krull.

LEAVES’ EYES open up a world of magical places, spellbound weapons or supernatural creatures. With the first, previously-released single and album opening track “Forged By Fire”, they raised the magic sword of Tyrfing. In a bombastic double bass blaze, they tell from a deadly weapon crafted and cursed by dwarves to bring misery over its bearers. “These legends always reflected the real-life horrors of those who told them, making them even relatable to modern events of wars and fights”, Alex says. Now, LEAVES’ EYES have unleashed a music video for their second single, the mediaeval hymn “Realm Of Dark Waves”, that pulls us down into ocean’s desolate depths of Rán, the Goddess of the Sea. This neck-breaker about the sea maiden wife of Ægir is lyrically linked to other LEAVES’ EYES hit classics about maritime gods, like “Njord” or “Nine Wave Maidens”, rounding off the artist’s entire oeuvre!

“Realm Of Dark Waves” is now available on all digital services via https://leaveseyes.bfan.link/realm-of-dark-waves

In support of LEAVES’ EYES’ forthcoming opus, the band produced a total of five music videos with Mastersound Entertainment. Filmed on impressive locations in Iceland, Germany and Poland, they bring the myths captivatingly to the screen. Magic creatures, great battles and enchanting warrior queens come to live! The music video for “Realm Of Dark Waves” is now premiering here:

LEAVES’ EYES have always played in a league of their own. The international group has toured all populated continents, playing concerts in more than 50 countries, frequently reach top positions in the album charts and with every output they deliver a multimedia masterpiece when it comes to video clips and artwork.

In their multifaceted discography, LEAVES’ EYES naturally integrate various genres such as folk metal, Viking metal or symphonic metal into their unique sound creations. Legendary releases like “Vinland Saga” (2005) or “Njord” (2009) made them pioneers in their own league, a position they successfully confirmed with chart-breakers like “King Of Kings” (2015) or “Sign Of The Dragonhead” (2018). Their compositions are complex, though, always well balanced between heaviness and melodic atmosphere. Each of their mind-broadening lyrical concepts based on mediaeval mythology are thoroughly researched, offering their audience journeys to the past times of Vikings, myths and sagas.

Their live shows are spectacular events with breathtaking stage scenery, including a Viking ship or even the “Swords In Rock” monument from Norway. LEAVES’ EYES have been setting world history to music and undeniably, by doing so, have raced to the top of the symphonic metal tree.

Now, Alexander Krull once again exceeded his own standards in the producer’s chair. For the fine and complex compositions you will find on “Myths Of Fate”, he created an extraordinary and crystal-clear sound sphere with an undeniable live feeling. The band sounds raw and feisty, but still leaves space for affective atmospheres. The US soundtrack-multi-talent Jonah Weingarten contributes the impressive orchestral score that was created hand in hand with the metal arrangements. “A very inspirational process, where we both influenced us creatively and finally metallized Jonah’s orchestral compositions”, Alex raves. Moreover, Lea-Sophie Fischer (Eluveitie) on the fiddle and Thomas Roth’s play of the mediaeval Nyckelharpa add on mystical sounds to “Myths Of Fate”.

Once again, LEAVES’ EYES have created an entire universe of their own imagination that showcases their talent as storytellers and music perfectionists. No doubt, the band will leave an everlasting footprint in their own genre with this album. “Myths Of Fate” provides a dynamic soundtrack for a vivid escape into a magical world of mythology!

RAVENSTINE Celebrate “2024” Album Release with ‘Fly Eagle Fly’ Music Video

Heavy rock act RAVENSTINE is celebrating the release of their sophomore studio album, titled 2024! Available as CD Digipak, Ltd. Vinyl LP and Digital formats, the album is out now on Massacre Records at https://lnk.to/ravenstine2024

In support of record release day, the band has just shared a music video for their latest single “Fly Eagle Fly”. Guitarist and vocalist Martin Sosna comments:

“”Fly Eagle Fly” was the first song that was musically created for “2024”. John played the song to Hanno and Martin in the rehearsal room and it was obvious that it is a radio hit single. We are talking about a hit single as it was written in the famous 80’s and is hardly composed today. Easy to listen to and with a good hook line.

Lyrically, it’s about the old eagle, who shares his wisdom with a young eagle, telling him that he should not fly too high, because otherwise he will burn his wings.”

Hailing from Croatia, Germany and Ireland, RAVENSTINE was formed during the pandemic; their self-titled debut was released earlier this year. With 2024, RAVENSTINE step it up and present themselves even more musically mature and cohesive than they did on their much-acclaimed, first full-length album. Lyrically, RAVENSTINE charge on as they began and call up various topics, some of a darker nature such as depression, or the prospect of one’s eventual demise. RAVENSTINE‘s colour-and sound-palette is broad.

2024 was recorded and mixed by band members Hanno Kerstan and John A.B.C. Smith, with a mastering by Dan Baune at Noise Foundry Productions. The stunning cover artwork was created by Frank Fiedler of Greenfeed Digital Ar.

2024 track listing:

  1. Black Is The Brightest Color
  2. Easy Come Easy Go
  3. Fly Eagle Fly
  4. Signs By The Roadside
  5. In The Light
  6. A Long Way Home
  7. Killing Spree
  8. When I’m Dead And Gone
  9. Freedom Day (Live Version) – [CD Bonus Track]

RAVENSTINE Live:
13.01.2024 DE Emden – Live Music Center

RAVENSTINE is:
Žanil Tataj- Žak: Lead- / Harmony Vocals
John A.B.C. Smith: Lead- / Harmony Vocals, Bass, (Acoustic) Guitars

MADDER MORTEM Release New Single ‘Unity’ from Upcoming Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on January 13, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: MADDER MORTEM. Leave a comment

With the release date of  MADDER MORTEM  “Old Eyes, New Heart”,  fast approaching, Dark Essence Records have today revealed a new track from the album.  Titled “Unity”, it is, according to the band:

A song about not lying to oneself, facing reality head-on and with honesty. Musically, “Unity” blends Muse-ish excess with Eastern rhythmic and melodic influences and a sing-along chorus, all wrapped in a very Madder Mortem mix of heaviness and atmosphere.

“Unity” can be downloaded or streamed from a variety of services at: https://link.darkessencerecords.no/Madder-Mortem_Unity

Set for release on the 26th January, “Old Eyes, New Heart” is the eighth full-length album from MADDER MORTEM, a band that has never sought to fit into any particular category, but has preferred rather to draw upon styles such as  Prog and Metal, Rock and Extreme, much to the delight of their many fans.

With “Old Eyes, New Heart”, MADDER MORTEM’s lineup of Agnete M. Kirkevaag on vocals, BP M. Kirkevaag on guitar & vocals, Anders Langberg on guitars, Tormod L. Moseng on bass and Mads Solås on drums have created a work that follows many unexpected directions ranging  from post-metal heaviness to soft Americana grooves and everything in between

Recorded and produced by BP M. Kirkevaag, the album is an exploration of hope, disappointment, and the ambivalence between them. It is, essentially, music that comes from old hearts and deep roots, with new eyes open to the unlimited possibilities of 12 notes. But, as  always, MADDER MORTEM’s  intention is to write a good, honest song. And with “Old Eyes, New Heart” they have succeeded admirably.

But it is also an album whose creation has not been without turmoil,  and with it also came the  heartbreak that was felt at the death of Jakob Kirkevaag, the much-loved father of band members Agnete and BP, and a man whose unfailing support has been so important to MADDER MORTEM from its very inception almost 30 years ago.

“Old Eyes, New Heart”, is, in fact, dedicated to Jakob, an artist in his own right, who sadly did not live long-enough to see or hear the finished work.  However, his contribution to the band lives on, because,  with  the help of MADDER MORTEM’s long-time collaborator, the artist and video producer Costin Chioreanu,  two of Jakob’s original paintings were adapted to form the cover art for “Old Eyes, New Heart”.

“Old Eyes, New Heart”,  will be available in CD, Digital, and Limited Edition LP formats in White Vinyl (limited to 250 copies) and Blue Vinyl (limited to 250 copies), and can now be pre-ordered from:

Webshop: https://darkessencerecords.no/kar270-madder-mortem-old-eyes-new-heart/
BandcampL https://maddermortem.bandcamp.com/album/old-eyes-new-heart
US Webshop: https://darkessence.indiemerch.com

Tracklisting on “Old Eyes, New Heart” is as follows:

  1. Coming from the Dark
  2. On Guard
  3. Master Tongue
  4. The Head that Wears the Crown
  5. Cold Hard Rain
  6. Unity
  7. Towers
  8. Here and Now
  9. Things I’ll Never Do
  10. Long Road

A release party for will be held at the Rockefeller / John Dee / Sentrum Scene in Oslo, Norway on the 3rd February, and fans will also be able to see MADDER MORTEM perform at this year’s Inferno Metal Festival in Oslo on Saturday 30th March.

A video by Patrick Scantlebury for “Towers” the recently released first single from “Old Eyes, New Heart” can be seen below.

Indietronic Rock Innovators BROMSEN Unleash New Hit Single ‘Someone’ from Upcoming Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on January 13, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: BROMSEN. Leave a comment

Indietronic Rock act BROMSEN proudly presents their latest single, “Someone.” This captivating track is the 5th single taken from the upcoming album “Brothers in Mind”, scheduled for release on February 16, 2024.

Check out their 5th single ‘Someone’ at https://orcd.co/someonesingle

Drawing inspiration from renowned songwriter Luka Bloom’s journey of self-discovery and independence, “Someone” reflects on the choice between conforming to societal expectations and embracing an authentic, adventurous life. The song’s uplifting message encourages listeners to live honestly and boldly, celebrating the essence of individuality.

BROMSEN’s “Someone” embodies the pursuit of self-realization, much like Luka Bloom’s evolution from Barry Moore to a distinguished artist in his own right. It echoes the thrill of life’s adventures and champions the courage to be true to oneself.

“America, the land of freedom and evolution, still embodies the spirit of unyielding liberty. Our visual portrayal of Richard adorned as the Statue of Liberty’s half-serious, half-parodic reflection aims to capture this essence”, states the band, offering a whimsical yet profound commentary on their creative expression.

The sonic landscape crafted by BROMSEN fuses the best elements of rock, hard rock, prog, and 80s music, forging a distinctive sonic identity that captivates the senses and transcends musical boundaries.

Bromsen, formed in Berlin, Germany, consists of Richard and Karlo Bromsen, who have known each other for more than 20 years. In the mid-2000s, they performed together with their previous band, “The Pampelmuse,” at numerous indie rock clubs in Berlin. However, the band disbanded in 2006, just before what was expected to be their breakthrough. Many years passed before Karlo and Richard decided it was time to reignite their passion for music and pursue their dreams once again.

Bromsen has made a triumphant return to the music scene, showcasing their unique blend of synth wave elements and guitars. Their distinctive sound combines a punchy wall of sound with raw and soaring vocals that compel listeners to groove along and sing along. Their first four singles have received critical acclaim from the indie press, and they have garnered airplay on indie radio stations across North America, the UK, France, Brazil, and other regions.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Announce Digital Deluxe Edition of “AFTERLIFE” Album

Multi-platinum hard rock powerhouse FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH today announced the digital deluxe edition of AFTERLIFE, their critically acclaimed ninth studio album. Set for digital release on February 9 via Better Noise Music, the deluxe version will include the original 12 tracks recorded with the band’s longtime collaborator, producer Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne) in addition to four bonus tracks: three acoustic versions of the album’s songs “The End”, “Judgement Day,” and “Thanks For Asking” plus a brand new song, “This Is The Way” featuring the late rapper DMX. An official music video for This Is The Way (feat. DMX) will premiere on February 9, 2024 to coincide with the release of the digital deluxe version of AFTERLIFE.

Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Zoltan Bathory says about This Is The Way (feat. DMX): “Music is meant to be shared, and it starts at the top with us, the artists. We have always embraced the mixing of genres, whether it be the remake of LL Cool J’s “Mama Said Knock You Out” featuring Tech N9ne as a guest or our collaboration with blues warrior Kenny Wayne Shepherd, country star Brantley Gilbert, and Brian May, the legendary guitarist of Queen, on the song “Blue on Black.” The idea of collaborating with DMX had been in discussion for years, and it was a long and winding road to turn this particular item on our wish list into reality. He was a lyrical warrior, a true original who spoke his mind incorruptibly. We have always viewed DMX as “the metalhead of hip-hop” because of his aggressive, raw, and untamed style. He growled and snarled, aiming to rattle some cages – an attitude we share, as Five Finger Death Punch has always been drawn to the fearless and the real. It made all the sense in the world, but today this is more than just a song; it’s a salute to a legend, a way to honor DMX’s memory.”

Upon announcement of the digital deluxe version of AFTERLIFE today, Five Finger Death Punch has premiered an advance listen to the previously unreleased acoustic version of “Judgement Day” which can be streamed below. The band previously partnered with Covenant House in November 2023 and released an official video for “Judgement Day” during National Runaway Prevention Month to help raise awareness about the Youth Homelessness Crisis. Watch the official video for the original version of the song HERE.
