Morten Veland:

I’m proud and honoured to welcome Margarita Monet from Edge Of Paradise as my special guest for ‘The Covid Aftermath Sessions’. The song that we have done together is entitled ‘Eyes of the Viper’, it’s a powerful, groovy and modern sounding kind of track. I love Margarita’s performance on the song, she really made the song come alive so beautifully. I first discovered her band ‘Edge Of Paradise’ during the Pandemic, and instantly noticed Margarita’s unique voice. We met in Miami a year ago, right before Sirenia and Edge Of Paradise were to perform on the 70.000 tons of metal cruise together. I am really happy that we finally got to do this song together.

I feel truly privileged and thankful to have Margarita on board this project, and I am really pleased to be sharing this song with you all. The song is available on all digital platforms now.

Margarita Monet:

When I heard the instrumental version of “Eyes of the Viper”, I instantly loved it and when I read the lyrics, I could see Morten’s vision of it. I had such a great time recording vocals, as I could really relate to the song, the words and the epic feel of the music. It was really exciting to see it come to life and I can’t wait for people to hear it! I’ve been a fan of Morten’s work for years, and thanks to technology, I’m thankful to be able to combine efforts from across the world and be a part of this exciting collaboration!

After 11 years of silence Norwegian multi-instrumentalist, producer and artist Morten Veland activated his solo project Mortemia during the early stages of the Covid 19 pandemic, this time with a brand new concept consisting of collaborations with multiple guest singers. ‘The Pandemic Pandemonium Sessions’ was a series of singles released on a monthly basis, each song featuring a well known and highly profiled guest singer from the metal scene. Now he is ready to endeavor on the next project entitled ‘The Covid Aftermath Sessions’, once more the project will feature multiple amazing guest singers.

So far the following singers has contributed for his collaborations:

Wormholedeath Records proudly announce that Swiss technical thrash metal sensation COMANIAC has officially inked a deal with the label for the exclusive CD release of their critically acclaimed album “None For All.” More information will be released soon.

COMANIAC expresses their excitement for the future with Wormholedeath, stating, “This is the next step in the COMANIAC chapter, and we are super hyped about our new partner, our collaboration, and our future with this prime music label that convinced us with their professional and enthusiastic vision! We are focused, charged, and are looking forward to new challenges and adventures yet to come and can’t wait to share them with you!”

About the Album: “None For All” addresses and criticizes the imbalance of empathy and indifference in society. Between structure and chaos, hope and resignation, nine songs make you think individually, socially, and politically.

Experience the intensity firsthand with the “Eye To Eye” music video:

COMANIAC: A Journey Through Music

Formed in 2012, Swiss thrashers Comaniac gained acclaim with their self-released debut, “Return To The Wasteland,” crowned as “THE Thrash Highlight 2015.” The 2017 release, “Instruction For Destruction,” via SAOL, showcased growth, with tracks like “COAL” gaining international radio play and media attention.

Extensive touring ensued, supporting acts such as OVERKILL and METAL CHURCH. In 2018, they embarked on the “Kamikazee – The Spirit Of Japan” Tour, introducing a Japan Edition of their second offering through CAPTURED RECORDS. Following a 7-inch split with US outfit IRONFLAME and a 2019 European tour, 2020 brought their third album, “Holodox,” produced by Tommy Vetterli (CORONER), receiving critical acclaim.

In 2021, they toured Switzerland with BURNING WITCHES and played major metal festivals. The momentum continued in 2022, joining VEKTOR (USA) for the “Activate Europe 2022” Tour, performing 26 shows consecutively. Anticipation grew in 2023 with the announcement of their fourth studio album, “None For All,” and a deal with WORMHOLEDEATH. The album, set for a 2024 release, has already garnered attention from international magazines, praising it as their most mature work to date.

DYMYTRY Share Music Video for New Single, Cover Version Of ‘Legends Never Die’

Psy-core metal act Dymytry is currently gearing up for the release of their much-awaited, new album Five Angry Men, due out on January 26, 2024 via AFM Records! Five Angry Men can be pre-ordered at https://dymytry.bfan.link/five-angry-men

A music video for their new single, a cover version of “Legends Never Die”, is now premiering below. Dymytry vocalist Alen Ljubić comments: “We enjoy doing covers, especially songs that are originally written for another genre. We did it with “Somebody’s Watching Me” on “Revolt”, which turned out really cool. As we were talking about doing a possible cover to include on “Five Angry Men”, Jirka mentioned “Legends Never Die”. I didn’t know the song at first, even though I’m pretty open minded when it comes to music. We all felt it was the right thing to do since we enjoyed the original song so much. It’s a challenge to make your own rendition of a popular song, we love challenges. I think we succeeded in making it sound like our own song, giving it our style and vibe. I bet our fans will enjoy it.”

When the Czech metal band released their sixth yet first english studio album Revolt in Autumn 2021, asserting their claim to international fame, the record was lauded by both fans and critics alike. This coup succeeded thanks to their signing of vocalist Alen Ljubić in combination with a cutting-edge mix of powerful modern metal, intelligent lyrics and impeccable craftsmanship. Dymytry’s success story, which has continued across the whole of Europe, has also included tours with Pantera, Lordi and Hämatom, among others, as well as a sold-out anniversary concert at Prague’s O2 Arena in November last year in front of 13,000 fans.

Once again an English-language record, “Dymytry’s upcoming album, ‘Five Angry Men,’ is not just a musical journey but a sonic manifesto,” Ljubic adds. “It’s our most diverse and best-sounding creation, bound to surprise our listeners. In a world gone mad, the title reflects the chaos we address – we might be the anti-heroes nobody asked for, but perhaps, everyone needs. Behind the masks, we’re known for being nice, yet with sarcasm and satire woven into our lyrics, we also channel the anger we all feel, a fury that fuels our music. Get ready for an experience that transcends boundaries and expectations. We know it will find its way to the listeners across the globe. It’s an invitation to our ever growing fan base, our beloved Angry Army.“

Five Angry Men was produced by Kristian Kohle (Powerwolf, Hämatom, among others) at Kohlekeller Studio, the artwork was designed by Steven Harrison, with Alen Ljubić contributing the booklet photos. The album will see Dymytry unleash their heaviest, most harsh, insane, fast-paced, yet powerful and dynamic album to date, at the same time wrapping its social criticism in an atmospheric party flair the band is known and loved for.

ROTTING CHRIST Announce New Album “Pro Xristoy”, Out May 24th

Rotting Christ have stood the test of time. While their name has caused plenty of gatekeepers to clutch their pearls, Sakis Tolis and has brother Themis have risen from Greece’s blackened catacombs to one of metal’s most formidable bands.

This year, Rotting Christ are celebrating 35 years of evil excellence with their 14th album. ΠΡΟ ΧΡΙΣΤΟΥ (Pro Xristoy) is bound to hold a revered place in the band’s heretical history. Always true to their name, with Pro Xristoy (“Before Christ”), the band pay tribute to the last of the Pagan kings by offering up more towering, gothic, melodic black metal.

Now that Rotting Christ are closing in on four decades, some followers might’ve wondered if there was any sacred ground left for them to conquer. But Pro Xristoy is a testament to a band that’s still on the rise.

“This album was inspired by the might of ancient pagan wisdom”, says Sakis. “It’s a tribute to those who resisted the coming of Christianity, which destroyed all the values, traditions and knowledge of the ancient world”.

Pro Xristoy comes out May 24. Pre-orders for the new album will start next month.

Track-list

1. Pro Xristoy (Προ Χριστού) (1:29)
2. The Apostate (5:01)

6. The Farewell (6:15)
7. Pix Lax Dax (4:33)
8. Pretty World, Pretty Dies (4:51)
9. Yggdrasil (5:04)
10. Saoirse (6:17)
11. Primal Resurrection (Bonus Track) (5:32)
12. All For One (Bonus Track) (3:37)
Total runtime: 55:17

To kick off what’s shaping up to be a year’s worth of devilish festivities, Rotting Christ are heading off on a tour of Latin America. Fans from Mexico to Argentina will have the pleasure of banging their heads to an unholy litany of the band’s greatest hits. They’ll also be treated to new songs off Pro Xristoy that are bound to become setlist staples.

In the dimly lit catacombs of extreme metal, one name stands as a monolith: ROTTING CHRIST. Sakis Tholis and his brother Themis started this band together back in 1987. In the three decades since, these Greek titans have left their blackened imprint all over the metal world. They’ve released 13 studio albums and played more than 1,3000 concerts around the globe.  Underneath all this hard work, Rotting Christ have but one vision – an urge to not only push the boundaries of extreme metal, but to keep reinventing themselves along the way.

Rotting Christ’s evolution has unfolded across several distinct chapters. After starting out closer to the barely controlled chaos of grindcore, they went on to establish the iconic sound of Hellenic black metal. Their albums often embraces refined gothic soundscapes, only to plunge back into the depths of blasphemous fervour. Each chapter marked another, further exploration, and an unwavering commitment to bush boundaries.

But the real turning point came in 2007, when Rotting Christ signed a pact with Season of Mist. They unleashed a series of albums for the French label that defied any  and  all expectations. From the piercing Theogonia and the symphonic grandeur of Aelo to the ritualistic intensity of Κατά Τον Δαίμονα Εαυτού, the cinematic experiences created by Rotting Christ became a spectacle of bombastic atmospheres, mesmerizing choirs, and neo-classical arrangements. The unexpected is their modus operandi, with the use of various languages (Latin, Arabic, Greek,  English) as well as the extensive use of famous poetry woven into their music, like Edgar Allan Poe’s ‘The Raven’ on The Heretics.

In 2019, Rotting Christ’s epic journey continued with The Apocryphal Spell compilation, which offers fans an intimate glimpse into unreleased and rare material. This allowed them to gather strength, preparing for the release of their next, highly anticipated, 14th full-length studio album: Pro Xristoy.

Pro Xristoy
(‘Before Christ’ in Greek), serves as a fervent tribute to the last Pagan kings who resisted the onslaught of Christianity, guarding their ancient values and knowledge. In this thematic odyssey, intricately woven through tracks such as ‘The Apostate’ and ‘Ygdrassil’, Rotting Christ delves into the legacies of historical figures such as Flavius Claudius Julianus and Nordic mythological kings, embodying the might of Pagan wisdom in the face of Christian adversity. The album encapsulates the essence of Rotting Christ’s signature style – melodic, yet harsh at times – reinventing themselves yet again, while remaining rooted in their 35-year legacy.
