Greek veterans of THE MAGUS are proudly presenting the second new track from the previously announced debut album ‘Βυσσοδομώντας’! The new offering will be released via The Circle Music records on  October 31st, 2023.

The blistering title track ‘Βυσσοδομώντας‘ is now streaming, in the form of a lyric video, via the Black Metal Promotion channel HERE.

Hailing back to 1989, Greek black metal outfit Necromantia was founded by the two musicians Baron Blood (bass) and The Magus (vocals, guitars, keyboards). The band’s music was characterized by a mix of black metal and death metal, with elements of Greek folk music and classical music. Over the years, Necromantia had undergone several line-up changes, but the band continued to release albums and tour, becoming one of the most respected and influential black metal bands from Greece!

Following the tragic death of Baron Blood in 2019, The Magus decided to disband Necromantia by releasing their final album “To the Depths We Descend” in 2021. But The Magus’ personal musical and mystical journey did not stop here. The inner black flame, which urges The Magus to create dark and extreme art which is expressed through music and lyrics, never ceased to burn.

In the summer of 2022, The Magus decided to give birth to a new musical project, entitled simply and appropriately; THEMAGUS. Joined by long-time associates, El (Soulskinner, Zaratus, Thou Art Lord, Principality of Hell etc) on guitars and Maelstrom (Necromantia, Yoth Iria, Thou Art Lord, Principality of Hell) on drums in order to complete the formula and start working on material for the upcoming album “Βυσσοδομώντας” (pronounced as: “Vissodomontas”),  which will be released on October 31st, 2023!

“Βυσσοδομώντας” is an album that is meticulous down to its last detail. Every note, every riff & chorus, is not by chance where it was placed. Except El (Guitars) & Maelstorm (Drums) who make up THE MAGUS, a host of well-known musicians participated adding their personal touch (King Dude, IDVex (1/2 SOUTHERN NORTH), Hel Pyre (W.E.B.), Iraklis Gialatzides (SWAN CHRISTY), Manos Six (Manos Six and the Muddy Devil) & Christos Antoniou (SEPTICFLESH) who did the arrangements for the live choir. At the same time, five graphic designers tackled the artwork of all formats and captured in an exemplary way on paper the nightmarish thoughts of The Magus. Finally, a special mention is needed for the amazing production, mixing & mastering, done at Pentagram Studio by George Emmanuel.

Godfather of Punk IGGY POP Tells the Story of His Diverse Career

Many artists have long careers in music by doing one thing well and doing that same thing over and over again. And then there’s IGGY POP. Like his early collaborator and co-conspirator, David Bowie, Pop evolved and morphed multiple times over the course of his incredible 50-year musical journey, from his explosive tenure fronting proto-punk icons The Stooges through his immensely innovative and influential solo career. Death/doomers WELCOME TO PLESHIWAR have finished work on their debut longplayer and will release the follow-up to their 2021 EP on November 09 via Black Sunset/MDD.

The album is titled “Apostasy” and will enrapture you for almost 38 minutes with mostly dragging Doom-Death. The band has succeeded in transporting the vibe of the 90s into the modern era and serving a contemporary album, to which the production of Andy Classsen at Stage One does the rest.

MIDNIGHT DANGER Announce U.S. West Coast Tour for October

Synthwave horror duo MIDNIGHT DANGER will be performing in the United States for the first time ever this October! Just in time for Halloween, the horror-themed outfit will embark on its “Nightmare Over the West Coast” starting on October 26 in Phoenix, AZ. The trek will then make its way up the coast and draw the final curtain on October 31 in Seattle, WA. The full itinerary can be found below!

Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, rising star Midnight Danger brings an electrifying fusion of influences to the music scene. Conceived by producer and guitarist Chris Young in late 2015, this music endeavor draws inspiration mainly from synthwave music, ’80s metal, and classic horror. Midnight Danger crafts a nostalgic soundtrack journey with pulsating synthesizers, driving rhythms, and a cinematic essence that instantly transports listeners back to the era of neon lights, arcade games, and VHS tapes. The sophomore album “Chapter 2: Endless Nightmare,” unleashed in August 2020, made waves by capturing the essence of synthwave/darksynth reaching best-selling charts on both Bandcamp and iTunes. Renowned bassist LINUS KLAUSENITZER, has released a new single, “Sehraff,” from his highly anticipated, debut solo album, “Tulpa,” that’s out October 6th from AOP Records. Watch the lyric video below.

Commenting on the new single and video KLAUUSENITZER says:

“You may be wondering about the spelling of the song title. The album is about a book that describes the creation of 10 different humanoid creatures. The servant of the Lord who created the creatures wrote the name of the seraph in this wrong spelling. In German it means something like “all monkey”. Because of the uplifting nature of this song, I found this fun fact to the title appealing.”
