Italian / Malaysian-based band Silent Angel is ready to reveal its first single “Against The Tides” off their first full-length “Unyielding, Unrelenting” to be released on Rockshots Records this coming November 2023.

“This tune was one of the last songs I wrote for the record. It was written during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic that brought the world to its knees back in 2020 – 2022 and subsequently the invasion of Ukraine. I was toying around with the riff and rhythm structure for quite some time. Seeing friends across the world, family and relatives fall victim to the effects of the pandemic drove me to pen the lyrics as a means to inspire any and everyone afflicted to stand strong and persevere. An international collective Silent Angel, an Italian / Malaysian-based band that has its foundations deeply rooted in power and symphonic metal with a mix of progressive along with Japanese metal influence. Silent Angel‘s debut album “Unyielding, Unrelenting” has been a long time coming. Working on a shoestring budget, Silent Angel started off by recording some demos and put out a roughly recorded EP just to see if the music had potential and it did. “This is definitely the most time ever spent on a music project for me, but I certainly believe in the music and the individuals that I am currently working with to make this dream a reality. The tracks are actually a selection of songs that I wrote back in the late 90s until the resurgence and reformation of Silent Angel in 2015 and subsequently, resumed writing and composing the music, lyrics, and song arrangement. Night Crowned has emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the heavy music scene. Their debut studio album, “Impius Viam”, released on February 28, 2020 (Noble Demon), instantly captivated both critics and fans, solidifying its place as one of the year’s most exceptional releases. Comprised of former and current members of renowned acts such as Dark Funeral, Nightrage, and Cipher System, Night Crowned possesses a musical vision that is as haunting as it is clear. SUFFER YOURSELF Share ‘Axis Insanity’ Single

SUFFER YOURSELF will unleash their fourth full-length album, “Axis of Tortures”, on September 22nd via Aesthetic Death.

Today, this death-doom metal institution unveils the second track taken from the album. No Clean Singing is now premiering “Axis Insanity” at THIS LOCATION.

Following the success of their third album (“Rip Tide”, 2021) – SUFFER YOURSELF took the opportunity to do tours of both Scandinavia and Belgium, once the global pandemic restrictions had lifted. A period of gigs which far exceeded what the band might normally undertake – with all gigs meeting to great success and the live set being a feature for the band into the future.

Within “Rip Tide” SUFFER YOURSELF could be heard to tease out and develop the death metal edge to their music. In the proceeding months following that release the band have worked tirelessly writing and recording the new album “Axis Of Tortures”. This has culminated in a more aggressive approach and applied compositional ideas, incorporating death metal more prominently into their sound – meeting with doomed psychedelics and some interesting “twists”.

“Axis of Tortures” is based around a concept and representation of any perceived tortures as a 4-dimensional geometrical graph, where there are three real coordinate axis (Insanity, Despair and Pain) and one assumed – Time (a 4th dimension, as we know it). Thinking about it from pure geometrical, and metaphysical point – any point in the 3D space can be anywhere in the coordinates and have any values, for example, (0,0,0) – is a very centre of all planes whilst, moving away from the central fulcrum, brings any combination of the three aforementioned variables and subsequently different amounts of each torture within the axis. We all exist somewhere in within the spectrum of tortures.

Regardless of the concept, the funeral death metal on “Axis of Tortures” will appeal to most discerning death metal fans, especially those who enjoy their death metal with a doomed morose overtone and steeped in the sounds of the early 90s.

To finish, it is worth mentioning the cover art for the album, a piece from Austrian surrealist painter Otto Rapp. The artist himself approved the use of this particular work, entitled “Eye of the Dark Star” (1993) to adorn the album cover. In our opinion, this fantastic piece of artwork brilliantly reflects the musical vision.

SOLEMN VISION Unleash Brand New Single ‘Bane And Benumbed’, New Album Out October 20th

NYC, US based progressive death metal act Solemn Vision is gearing up for the release of its highly anticipated new album “Despite The Rise Of The Sun”, which will be coming out on October 20th via Black Lion Records. While the band’s latest single “Gates” already gave an intense insight into the upcoming album, Solemn Vision follows up today with the brand new track “Bane And Benumbed”.

Musically, “Bane And Benumbed” is a perfect balance of classic and modern melodic death metal. Filled with fast, gripping riffs punctuated by a pounding rhythm section from drummer Carlos Crowcell and bassist Anthony Rafferty; an anthemic chorus displaying vocalist Aaron Harris’s proficiency at not just his iconic screams but also clean singing; and blistering yet melodic solos from guitarists Mauricio Cornejo and Kadin Wisniewski. The lyrics are a take on sleep paralysis, and its effects. Parts of the lyrics were also used as the title for the new album.

“Despite The Rise Of The Sun” is Solemn Vision‘s sophomore full-length release and is tangible proof of hard work coming to fruition. This album features songs that the band not only always wanted to write and record, but also hear, as listeners and fans of music themselves. Before the lockdown, the band was already working on songs that would become the bulk of the album; during lockdown they kept working on something that had become long-awaited by fans, fueled by the frustrations and difficulties brought on by the pandemic; post-lockdown, coming off a successful 3-week tour in the northeast, and an exciting new partnership with Black Lion Records, Solemn Vision is finally ready to bring their vision to life. “Despite The Rise Of The Sun” features songs ranging from extremely fast and punishing, to soft but dark, while still finding a sense of balance throughout the whole album. While there isn’t necessarily a theme that binds every track together, there is certainly a message within this album: that finding a sense of balance is vital when you are faced with any challenges.

Having formed in the Summer of 2019, Neon Empire have established their presence in the Irish Metal scene, having made considerable impact as part of Bloodstock Metal 2 The Masses in recent years, and their appearance at the bi-annual Siege of Limerick last year.

2023 saw the band bid farewell to original bassist Tom Ambrose, and welcome Nathan Ford on board where he made his debut with the band in Dublin as part of the Bloodstock Metal 2 The Masses Ireland showcase.
