THE DAY WE LEFT EARTH has grown from clarity to clarity over their debut year. Earlier this year they released a single with Dead By April that became an instant hit with over 1.5 million streams worldwide. Alongside this, the album plan for THE DAY WE LEFT EARTH is set, and will be released in early 2024. As if this wasn’t enough, TDWLE have also signed with a bigger booker and have  joined the roster along bands like: Lacuna Coil, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquility and Evergrey.

Today marks a significant milestone as THE DAY WE LEFT EARTH unveils their seventh single from the highly anticipated debut album. Titled ‘Dead On Arrival’, this new single is a powerful metal anthem. Embellished with hauntingly beautiful lyrics, expansive vocal ranges, and a solid metal core, the track is set to infuse your autumn days with a brilliant burst of energy and emotion.

‘Dead On Arrival is about taking back control. It’s a song about liberation, it’s a song about inner peace and a song about freedom. We wanted to give people a mantra of sorts, making sure that you are doing right by yourself”. – THE DAY WE LEFT EARTH

‘Dead On Arrival’ is out now on all streaming services!

HIEMS Releases ‘A Night On The Bare Mountain’ Music Video

Italian one-man black metal band, HIEMS, reveals music video for new track “A Night On The Bare Mountain”, in anticipation of upcoming album “Stranger in a Wasteland”, scheduled for release on September 8th via Agonia Records.

The video can be watched below.

HIEMS was launched in 1996 by Italian songwriter & multi-instrumentalist Alessandro “Algol” Comerio. “Stranger in a Wasteland” marks his third outing and is the sound of an artist confident in his craft. Recorded during lock-down, the music captures the dismal feelings of alienation and detachment, and translates them into malevolent, minimalistic and non-canonical black metal, infused with dark hard rock and ominous grooves. In comparison with “Worship or Die” – the second and last installment from 2009 – “Stranger in a Wasteland” boasts a much clearer and refined production, which added a commanding character to the vocals, exposed the weight of the guitars, and sharpened the overall listening experience. The topic of death – closely followed by a sense of not belonging – is equally present in the musical and lyrical layer of the album.

“It’s been a long time since the last Hiems record,” recalls Comerio. “I’ve always continued to write material, but only when the pandemic gave me some free time was I able to gather the songs written in the past years and shape them. I chose the name of the record to highlight the song that is the best representation of my vision of life and the current world. I feel like a stranger wherever I go. I can’t find any religion or philosophy with which I can completely agree, and today’s world seems to me a wasteland; destroyed and forgotten. So yeah, I do feel like a stranger in a wasteland. It’s about not belonging to any creed or flag. To follow your own path, even if it leads to loneliness. Regarding the production, I’m a sound maniac. I spent days and days in the studio, searching for the sound I had in mind. I wanted the record to sound different from actual ‘plastic’ metal, so I chose not to use triggers or artificial reverbs and go completely old school.”

“Stranger in a Wasteland” was recorded at Elfo Studio (Forgotten Tomb), engineered by Daniele Mandelli and mixed and produced by Daniele Mandelli and Alessandro “Algol” Comerio. The album was mastered at La Maestà Studio (Muse) by Giovanni Versari and comes with artwork by Adam Burke (Solstafir, Enforcer). Layout illustrations (medieval engravings) were provided by Davide Schileo. Guest appearances include Gabriel Minuta (guest guitars), Paolo Apollo Negri (guest hammond organs) and Elisabetta Marchetti (guest vocals).

Tracklisting:
1. A Night on the Bare Mountain
2. Death Unites Us
3. Master of Lies
4. March!
5. The Rites of Terror
6. Bereavement
7. Better Off Dead
8. Stranger In A Wasteland
9. Quietus

Line-up:
Alessandro “Algol” Comerio – vocals, guitars, bass, drums, percussion, synthesizers

WINTERSTORM Premiere ‘Fate of the Atlanteans’ Lyric Video

In support of their hotly-anticipated, fifth studio album “Everfrost” (postponed for a release on September 22, 2023 via AFM Records, pre-order HERE!), power metal force WINTERSTORM is premiering a lyric video for their new single “Fate of the Atlanteans”!

“In “Fate of the Atlanteans” we ask humanity, if it does not realize that if we do not change our way of dealing with our planet, we will face the same fate as in Atlantis history and thus the destruction of our world.” The band comments. Watch their new lyric video now streaming here:

As the “Winter” stands for nordic viking and folk metal, the “Storm” for fast-paced power metal, combined with epic and orchestral metal facettes, on “Everfrost”, WINTERSTORM shines in a new splendor. It’s the melodic grandeur, that clearly marks the foreground of WINTERSTORM, reflected in heavily catchy choruses and colossal, polyphonic vocals. Striking elements of different metal styles merge with each other and get a completely new impression, that WINTERSTORM’s new album may be their most versatile and powerful album to date; one that does not have to hide behind proved genre colleagues such as Blind Guardian or Rhapsody Of Fire.

“Everfrost“ will be coming out as CD Digipak, limited clear blue Vinyl and Boxset on September 22, 2023 via AFM Records, the pre-sale is available at THIS LOCATION!

“Everfrost” track listing:

  1. Origin
  2. To The End Of All Known
  3. The Phoenix Died (Remember)
  4. Circle Of Greed
  5. Future Times
  6. Everfrost
  7. Final Journey
  8. Fate Of The Atlanteans
  9. Crusade
  10. Overcome The Fear
  11. Silence
